You are as real as it gets! I absolutely adore how you see the vision even before you toss those pieces of discarded items into your car. Genius!!! Wish I had your talent but so very excited to witness your visions. Thank you from Mississippi “as south as you can get...without getting wet!”
Katie, I have to say you are the best DIY furniture flipper that I have encountered and I’ve looked at dozens. They are either sloppy with their work or their process or they are unprofessional and strange...LOL. Finding you was the best thing ever...love your work!
My first time here. I picked up some free furniture on the side of the road . A month later I took it back to the side of the road. THE END. I envy your talent.
I loved that you gave another creator credit for the idea. So many other creators fail to do that, I’m sure Lily must be thrilled ! Great job Katie, not only are you talented and skilled but you also have a great attitude!
I found that wetting the burlap first before stapling it down helps getting it super tight as when it dries it will shrink and pull all the creases out.
Wonderful so love your work. I’m always dragging pieces home to refinish. lol. You inspire me and keep up the great work…. I love painted work and fortunately so does my husband 😊
I’m always so shocked at the end result! I’m always uniquely surprised at the color you choose. I would never pick this color or a lot of the colors you choose but for whatever reason they always turn out amazing!
Lovely!! I was relieved when you mentioned the trim of the burlap. Previously I cringed and thought "Noooo she is not leaving it like that". I totally understand your relaxed time with the renovation. Great flip.
I love that you don't apologize for your process! "This is just how I do things" is a completely reasonable response for someone who does this sort of thing for a living. Well done Katie on yet another gorgeous piece!
I’m just finishing a 9-drawer dresser with burlap on the fronts, and have some burlap leftovers I’m now seeking inspiration for. This is so fantastic Katie! ❤
Now that’s a stylish piece. WOW. It was “okay” before but crikey, you just added hundreds and hundreds to that beautiful piece. I love how you share every step and their reasonings. I’m desperately trying to gain confidence with paint but my ocd makes it impossible for me to carry on and I end up just having panic attacks and then feel like cr@p. I know you said you’re keeping this one but if you ever change your mind, please let me buy it from you. I’m loving your videos. You’re just so likeable. I can’t praise you enough. xxx
Katie, I love your mix of artistry, creativity, and practicality. You really are inspiring! You even make the power tools seem less intimidating! Haha!
I so glad I came across this video. I too found (on the curb) two cabinets similar to yours. Dream come true. I will reference this video so that I can gift to my daughter in her new home! Thank you, thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Trash to treasure…I love the color you picked. ❤️ When I need wrinkle out quick I completely wet a wash cloth, squeeze it out add the clothing or fabric to the dryer with the wet rag for just a couple minutes. It works so well for those times I don’t want to iron or steam anything. I hope your renovations go really well.
I have this exact same cabinet that I bought for $10 because I needed some cheap extra storage. I've had it for a year and hated it because it was so ugly. This has inspired me to make it over. Beautiful job.
I don’t have any tools or knowledge to transform furniture. I don’t think I want to even try. I just enjoy watching your videos. You have such beautiful results every time. I admire your vision. On this particular piece cutting off the bottom made such a huge difference!! And the color you chose is so beautiful. The burlap, made the piece so unique. Congratulations on yet another job well done!!!
You are so talented...you are the daughter my father would have wished he had LOL.....what an eye you have and what a love for quality pieces!!! Awesome!
So glad I discovered your TH-cam videos working with modern furniture and chalk paint. I’ve been looking at chalk paint and vintage pieces for a while and couldn’t seem to come up with the right look for my bedroom furniture that I would love to refinish. Your videos are perfect for the look that I’m trying to convey. Thank you so much, you’ve helped me more with just a few videos then what I’ve been looking at for months with other videos using modern/chalk combo.
Love that you used the burlap. Over 50 years ago, my sister-in-law used it to camouflage some damaged decorative panels under the windows of her 250 year old house they were renovating. The burlap is still there. She glued it onto the plaster, used the existing trim/framing, and painted it. Did you know you can bleach the burlap. Comes out a beautiful natural linen colour? I’ve used it to wrap Christmas gifts as well over foil gift wrap.
Good job referencing Lily for her video on using burlap. I actually had just watched her video before your video. You both nailed it although I liked the unpainted burlap better as it is more natural. Excellent transformation!
The minute I saw this, I knew it’s what I wanted to do to a piece a coworker gave me. Turned out great, as did yours, although I went a bit bolder with my color! Wish I could show you my pics. Thanks for helping to inspire us.
This is the most beautiful cabinet I've ever seen. I love how much she paid attention to detail. She picked the literal perfect handles. Now I have to go buy power tools. Thank you for the inspiration
I really enjoyed watching this transformation. I was reminded of my father working on a UK Stately home where they were converting stables into an antiques shopping area. The interior designer had him making battens. Over which was stretched hessian which when painted white was tight as a drum and was a fabulous ceiling. Maybe spraying yours with water would do the same? 👏👏❤❤
If you haven't noticed by now, I'm kinda on a K. Scott mini binge watch session. It's Sat., I'm at work till 8:30p. so why not!! Hoping all is well Katie, Dirty Jersey out!!
My apologies, forgot to write that this came out insanely awesome!! I love when you guys make something completely different from the original piece. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out again!!
I''ve seen high end furniture with burlap inserts on the drawer fronts. The burlap was painted with the same colors and techniques applied to the cabinet. The paint technique would please the heart of any chalk paint fan. It was a very subtle blending and shading in muted earthy paint colors and the total effect was gorgeous. They used a frame of narrow wood molding to cover the cut edges of the burlap panels.
Wow this turned out awesome I just love what you had done I love your channel you share all of your ups and downs and teach us so much thank you for staring I enjoy your channel so much and looking forward to your next showing this piece is awesome have a great evening and God bless you and your family
I so enjoy watching your videos Katie! You are not only creative and inspiring but your are also very articulate in your delivery. Thanks for sharing all of your great videos!
I’ve learned so much about the furniture repair process from your vids. So thank you for taking the time and being thorough .BTW I subscribe to you, Kacha, Christina, and CrysDawna. Your styles are so different which I love. I have spent the past few months painting my thrifted furniture thanks to your tutorials!
There are so many incredibly talented painters in our community. We’re all good friends and I love being able to find inspiration in all of their work ❤️
Stunning!!! But then, everything you do is stunning! Thank u for explaining ur processes. I am slowly getting back into furniture painting and sales after 6 yrs but so much has changed (namely the available painting products, and for the better!) and I can't tell u how much I appreciate ur thoroughness! Oh!...and I do believe that I could watch you spray furniture all day and call it therapy! 😁
I enjoyed watching so much, love the colour and the way you chopped it and attached the legs! Oh, and the burlap! You are so sweet and genuine! ❤✌🇨🇦🙋♀️
Hi Katie, I really loved your videos! One idea it’s explain what is necessary to have to start doing DIY projects like this for people that doesn’t experience! Thanks for your videos! ❤️
💐Beautiful job as usual. The green was a masterful choice as was returning the brass hinges. The burlap makes an elegant -- & perhaps even more economical choice over the cane. 📺Great for a media or tech cabinet where you have components that need the ventilation. Or, if you're trying to hide ugly modern speakers. 🤔If the cabinet is meant for ordinary storage (like in this application), I would've kept the glass inserts to cut down on dust. The burlap fabric could be used on the interior door frame by stapling or starching on. ♻️TIP: Furniture Roadkill👣. 🚘When I drive around the greater LA area, I frequently see abandoned curbside chairs & couches. When the upholstery looks truly bad (as if no would ever wanna sit on them), I will stop & snag their bun feet or legs to save them going to waste in some landfill🗑. ♻️ DIYers can usually figure out a way to reuse these purloined bun feet & legs in other applications. Never had any that sat around long.
you really have good taste how to renovate furnitures.. I started believing in myself after watching your videos :) thank you for showing me the power is in me. I also have a lot of time at home thanks to the pandemic :)
Your cabinet turned out great. Professional upholsterer here. If you want even tension go from one center, about 3 staples, then go to the opposing side. Then do the same with the sides.
That’s usually how I go about things but the natural grid of the burlap kept getting wonky so I did the full bottom and full top and then back and forth side to side with a few staples at a time. That’s what worked best for me in this situation. Thanks for watching!
I love that you always mention your mistakes and how you find a solution. These are problems that we may run into as well.
Gracias por subtitulo en español, me gusta tu trabajo

I found that wetting the burlap first before stapling it down helps getting it super tight as when it dries it will shrink and pull all the creases out.
Using a steamer can also work - but yes - she should have gotten it wet first.
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! What a transformation, gurl I see why people are following you. This was fun!!!
The burlap made the whole piece look so nice. What a great idea
“ that’s just not how I roll” ha ha my kinda artist!
Making your own dowel? It's a perfect fix! Your attention to detail produced another stunning piece.
Ooooh, i love burlap texture. Grest to see it used in a not necessarily "farmhouse" manner. ❤
I love this and all you do! I love how you get so many of your pieces as castoffs and turn then into incredible 'new' ones💙 the green...🤩
Very nice. No cane… no problem. Use burlap! Great job! ❤️
Such a great taste to pick colors and combine them with texture natural fiber fabrics! Awesome 👏🏼👏🏼💚🤎🤍
Lovely!!
I was relieved when you mentioned the trim of the burlap. Previously I cringed and thought "Noooo she is not leaving it like that". I totally understand your relaxed time with the renovation. Great flip.
That green is so pretty! I can’t believe you turned what looked like junk into such a stunning piece that’s just too perfect to sell!
I love that you don't apologize for your process! "This is just how I do things" is a completely reasonable response for someone who does this sort of thing for a living. Well done Katie on yet another gorgeous piece!

Looks amazing as always Katie!! Burlap who knew!?😉😉😉

Thank you so much! My goal is just to help people look past the ugly and see the potential in every piece. I so appreciate you being here with me ❤️
I prefer the glas in the door cause I don't like burlap. The dark color and new feet look fine, welldone Katie .
You are so talented...you are the daughter my father would have wished he had LOL.....what an eye you have and what a love for quality pieces!!! Awesome!

Awesome! I can wait to see what you come up with ❤️
This is one of the most beautiful cabinets I have ever seen and I just had to comment that
Thank you 😊
Great job Katie. I love the paint color and the way you staged your piece!❤
Ms.Katie you are AMAZING 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏼

I love how thorough you are 😁
The light really plays with the color.
Good job referencing Lily for her video on using burlap. I actually had just watched her video before your video. You both nailed it although I liked the unpainted burlap better as it is more natural. Excellent transformation!
That piece is absolutely beautiful! Good job, Katie!
Lovely, love the texture from the burlap in the doors and the legs turned out perfect.👍👍👍

I so enjoy watching your videos Katie! You are not only creative and inspiring but your are also very articulate in your delivery. Thanks for sharing all of your great videos!
Now that’s what I’m talking about! Bring out the saw, & go for it...Beautiful
I really enjoy watching you transform old beat up furniture into an thing of beauty.
You could steam out the wrinkles too! With a handheld steamer! Works amazing for curtains.
Each piece was completely different, but both were completely beautiful ❤
Yes! Great choice of color and the burlap is 👍🌷
Thank you 😊
Another huge round of applause... I love that it not "perfect" its perfect just the way its is
Great idea. You could totally use shellac to stiffen the burlap if you wanted to so it's more like the stiffer cane.
Wow, now thats what I call an upcycle. It looks so modern and clean. This project is the definition of taking something old and making it new again.
I love the cabinet! Great color and I love the burlap touch!
You made spray painting look so easy. What a pro. Yes, I love that beautiful rich earthy green. Thank you for sharing and showing.

The color is perfect with the burlap. The peice is beautiful.
Brilliant transformation Katie!
Excellent idea to recycle this piece and make a new beautiful piece ❤️❤️
Thanks so much! 😊

Love the look of the burlap with the earthy paint color!
This piece is gorgeous and I really love what you did with the doors.
