I believe its not completely right, any drone with camera even the ones lighter than 250gram have to be registered if it has a camera. As part of the OPEN category, registration is compulsory for operators: UAS that have a mass of 250 g or more; UAS that have a mass of less than 250 g but: can operate at speeds greater than 90km / h or/and are equipped with a camera or a microphone
In the caribbean we call it coals. this is when you dig a pit and put it to burn and then harvest it and use it to cook food. maybe you can do this. we also use goods trees for furniture. the stem. the branches for coals.
Looks enticing, great footage. Although, Tara.. this is the second week in a row you've brought me to tears. First in #thenewbysexplore in Borneo and now in #thenewbys with the removal of the great tree. You've got to stop lol and John looks like a Professor with his sharp haircut and studious new glasses. The boys look identical and Obie is just something else hahaha... Thank you as always for the wonderful and yet so very thoughtful content. Yours always, Vaughn in Massachusetts. ❤️
One good rule when clearing trees is to plant two seedling trees for every one you cut down. Name them for family members or friends and watch them grow. Your farm can soon have John’s tree, Tara’s tree, Crusoe’s tree and Sawyer’s tree. Let each person pick out and help to plant their namesake tree.
Great idea we planted a tree for each of our grandchildren when they were born ( they are in their twenties). Beautiful trees now they are fruit trees and we enjoy the fruits of our garden. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
That's a good idea. I'd suggest a small amendment: use the Devon 3:2:1 formula, which says plant *three* for any mature tree that you need to remove. 😎
We recently lost our glorious 90'x90' grand Oak at the back corner of our lawn to Hurricane Helene. I cried for days. I grieve still. I tell myself to be grateful our home wasn't destroyed or washed away with us in it or our loved ones lost to us. Still, I grieve. So yes Tara, I completely understand and respect your tears and am so pleased for you to now be planting a new tree which will grow up with your boys.💚
What a touching episode. Thank you for being so sensitive and not afraid to show it. Loved that Crusoe was the sensible one with not wanting to cross the water on the drainage pipe….. you and John are raising sensitive and smart humans. Thank you again. Oh by the way….hug a tree. I’m an old hippie and proud of it❤❤
As a second-generation hippie chic named after a tree who also feels a deep connection with all trees and what we are doing to this planet, I appreciate your trepidation and emotion about taking down these two beauties. At least one person in Portland, Oregon, USA, was wiping tears away with you, Tara. That said, creating your forever home with wood from them is a lovely way to honor the loss for your family.
I like big old trees also, but after surviving Hurricane Helene 2 months ago and seeing so many houses destroyed by big trees falling on them, I’m very glad you had the 2 trees removed so they will never destroy your new home. It will take us years to recover.
“In nature, nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed.” Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier. What a beautiful thought. I think of this as I add things to my compost pile. What is transformed will continue to nourish. The necessity of cutting down that tree will become an honored and cherished part of your home. What a gift! The emotion of watching it be cut down makes it all the more precious. Be brave in the transformation of the tree. ❤
We have six oak trees on our property and would have many more voluntary trees if we let them grow from the thousands of acorns that fall each year. I feel bad about pulling up the tiny oak seedlings that inevitably spring up around the house perimeter that roll off the roof and take root ...in the flower beds, azaleas and everywhere else. The ones in the middle of the yard get mowed down every time we mow the lawn. But at least two of the giant oaks have been allowed to "volunteer" themselves and are almost as big as the oldest ones that were here when my parents bought the property in the early 70s. A third oak we have allowed to remain under a power line only by keeping it trimmed back assiduously so it never grows above eight feet tall (not exactly a bonsai). The birds love this little oak, as it gives them a perch near our waterfall fountain that splashes into a natural pool. They have a birdfeeder under one of its branches & its a perfect hangout for them. If I ever have to cut down one of the largest oaks that grows right outside my bedroom window, I am now planning to grow another one from its falling acorns ...so it grows nearer to the street & I can rest easier on stormy nights.
@@AdrianaGA.18 Have you ever felt the warmth of a wood fire? Or grilled with charcoal? Or eaten at a wooden table on wooden chairs? That is also the tree's purpose and John and Kate have said that is what they would use them for. It's kind of like wishing your children would never grow up.
We had to cut a precious tree down because it was dying from being struck by lightening. We had it milled and made the back drop for my daughter’s wedding and photo area. We asked the venue if they’d like to keep it and for the last year we’ve got to see our old friend in dozens of wedding photos as they all celebrated a special day in their life. It makes us very happy to see this, we also used it to make barn doors and have many pieces left for up coming projects too. I know you two will make this into something worthy of the trees memory as well. Maybe there is something on the tree to propagate or seeds from this tree to grow.
I am sorry, but you do have a choice, you choose to cut down the trees for your needs with building the house, thats what happens, so all the sadness and tears, to be honest don’t mean anything as it was only a requirement for your needs.
Watching that pre school toddler working so hard on those tree branches was amazing. His brain body coordination is exploding. Sawyer was exactly right I thought. That round culvert pipe and his rubber boots were not going to go well together. He seemed to instinctively know that.
My niece and nephew are in forest management and they love trees. They've explained how thinning is vital to the health of other trees, habitats, and climates. Sometimes, older trees must make way for other trees to gain their full growth potential. So as I looked at all the surrounding trees, I was grateful that they would grow even stronger and healthier now. And thankfully, you have so many beautiful trees on your property to love. I had to cut down a 60-year-old apricot tree last year because it was dying. It broke my heart. But then, this year a Delicious Apple tree started growing next to where it was felled. Nature always wins!
🩷🩷🩷 it may only be two trees, but it was life. It was the sustaining.. And it’s important for you to expressed that you understand what you’re doing and that your children see the empathy and concern and the love that you had for that tree, because that clearly showed in Sawyer‘s reaction to it all. Much love and many blessings to the tree. And your beautiful property that you take such good care of and have added so much to it to be enjoyed for so many years to come. Big hugs to you all.
Thank you for being so genuine. I felt the tears well up watching and listening to Tara's grief of losing this beautiful tree. You've inspired me to plant tree's in my back yard. Love you Newby's.
I wish everyone in the world cared about nature as much as you do. You clearly did not make the decision to fell the trees lightly and I know you will plant many more to replace what was lost. Keep being you. Thank you for being a caretaker of our planet!
Love your caring concern for all living things and the beauty and energy that they bring to our world. So glad you are replacing the downed tree with another and putting its wood to good use in your new home to honor its long life and beauty. Loved seeing Crusoe helping out! ❣
LOVE THE WAY LITTLE CRUSOE HAS NOW BECOME AN EXCELLENT LITTLE "FARM HELPER" - ..... HE SIMPLY GETS STUCK IN AND ASSISTS WITH MOVING PIECES OF THE 🌲 TREE .... CANNOT BELIEVE HOW GROWN UP HE HAS SUDDENLY BECOME, JOHN AND TARA 💕
Crueso is such a big boy now so adept to what’s going on around him. He just gets in there and participates where he can. Because of the great teachings he is surrounded with in his life. Mom n Dad be proud! And I can’t wait to see Sawyer follow suit. Amazing real life stuff with your channel that makes it wonderful to watch. Thank you for being so passionate about our world around us and how we destroy what God has blessed us all with. Ty for letting me experience what your family brings to my mind. Aloha from the Big Island of Hawai’i where much of the same is happening too. 🌺
I have such confidence that John will design and build absolutely beautiful things with the wood that tree has provided. Furniture that will be cherished for generations, doo, lintels, you name it. I think that a dining room table that your family gathers around daily would be appropriate. You have your own giving tree. 😘💕
Big hug Tara & John 🥰 I know you will turn the wood from your trees into something wonderful that you will treasure forever. Love, love, love that you are going to plant an oak tree to replace the big one somewhere on the farm. You are all truly inspiring ❤
You might consider having at least one wooden bowl (maybe 3 if you are planning for the future when the boys are independent) made from the wood of that tree. I did that when I lost a beloved tree, and it's one of my most prized possessions. It's lovely because it's a useful, hands-on object and a great conversation piece.
As guardians of your land, I understand the pull of your heart strings in tree removal. But as you shared, the tree will live on in the pieces of art that John will create for your home. Crusoe picking up cut wood to salvage for future use in the garden as compost was epic. He will never forget this day. Blessings to you as we enter the week of being thankful. I am thankful for the Newby family.❤💛🍁🍂
Try to remember you did relocate several olive trees to both add to your land and protect them. Your awareness and connection to your tree, will definitely help you through the process of honoring it in your new home. Yes sleep deprived emotions are all part of the journey. Take care, thanks for sharing.
I love how affected you both were by the trees. And Tara, being a bit hippie is no bad thing!! Being open to energies and our connection with the world is a beautiful thing. 😍
We bought a piece of forest to build our dream house. We had to cut down trees, but at the same time wanted to keep as many as we could. One in particular oak tree (the mother of the other oaks) had to be cut down, it was 10 feet away from the house. It was the hardest one to cut, because we come from a country that believes that oak is a good luck on your land; Like a good family , it has deep roots and is around for decades. We used the mulch in our garden, it kept us warm in really bad winters for 2 years and the chard was used in our garden. Nothing was wasted. It’s been 20 years since and we’ve had to cut few more trees to keep our house safe. Because I love nature and gardening, I’ve panted a lot more than I cut down. I hope this will help ease your pain. 😊
Oh my word Tara...... I so share your feelings about that healthy majestic tree you needed to fell...... 😭..... So get just how, difficult it is for us big dreamers to walk lightly on our planet..... These heartfelt experiences definitely bring us closer to actually find ways around all of these complexities. Our immeasurable capacity to dream big and have incredible, grand visions into forever and beyond...... And the sanity of proceeding carefully. You guys are doing exceptionally well.... Just apply gratitude... I'm sure you do not preaching truly just feeling with you..... Your lives are truly epic, your boys lives extremely rich with experiences, and no doubt they will be the generation that do us proud where our big dreams impact less and less on the natural expressed order of things..... ❤...... Love the journey you guys are on..... Really just love it and grateful to be a part of it, the proverbial fly on the wall🙏💖🙏
Three of our children planted evergreen saplings over thirty years ago that were being given out by a large printing company that had an open house. These trees were planted in our backyard, they are now over thirty five feet high on two other people's property. Very forward thinking company back then, we need more like this to save our planet's forest and wild lands. The Olive tree in the driveway looks very healthy! Keep following your dreams💖
What an incredibly emotional video. Trees truly give us life and they depict how everything on earth is interconnected! We need each other. There is a reason though why you had to cut down the trees and you are being good stewards by making something beautiful out of it!!! You’re also replacing the tree… I love this quote: Into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul by John Muir. That Crusoe of yours is an incredible little man, the way he got right in there after the tree fell and off he went to help relocate the branches ect… With much appreciation, Louise
I felt like that when we had to cut a massive big oak from our front yard. After a while and looking back it was the right thing to do and the final outcome we wanted was gained and now so much better for a lot of reasons. In no time your beautiful house will be sitting in that space and other beautiful things growing around it and you may have the same feelings of relief about it too. I am sure of it. Nature has an awesome of way of healing herself and becoming more beautiful.
I can’t deny I’m a huge tree-hugger, and shed a tear with you there Tara! But how amazing that you got the call about the new tree! Very happy ending! ❤
I shed a tear or two as well for that gorgeous tree of yours. It's a hard thing. I still remember the olive tree I had to remove from my garden 5 years ago. I actually had a moment with it to share my good intentions before removing it. After all I am a confirmed city dweller. And seriously at the time I had NO IDEA where that sentiment came from. But trees are powerful guardians of the planet and there is nothing wrong with acknowledging the magnitude of the decision and the impact to your tender hearts. Thank you for reminding us to just honor that magnitude - even when it's necessary.
It breaks my heart to see you cry… the dream home has cost more than money, but, you’ll be planting more and enjoying your home for so many years. Love and hugs, from Hawaii ❤🏝️
Bonjour famille merveilleuse !!!!
The wife shed a tear watching the tree down she knows how you feel about nature it shows you have a big heart don't feel to down we are with you all the way 😭👌🌹
I’m Catherine and I’m a 🌳 hugger ❤. Watching this I recalled a memory from when I was very little. A tree in our front lawn had to be taken out because it was rotting. I cried and cried. It was my friend. I had a willow tree that was my magical castle. So, I get it. Hugs. 🌳
Beautiful Tara, your response is spot on for the humanity that this Earth needs more of. Bless your ❤ I appreciate you so much for sharing your family’s journey with us. Life is all about the difficult decisions that need to be made-being lukewarm doesn’t make for an interesting story. Blessings from California❤
Beautiful. Raw. Authentic. Amazing how the boys help with only 2 and 3 years of age. Was happy to see the finished treehouse shortly, had been looking out for the result.... Best wishes always!
I cried along with you such a beautiful tree that has stood for so many years. I love the idea of incorporating the wood into your new home and replanting a tree in its memory somewhere on the farm. You are respectful custodians of your land and are such good advocates of our beautiful planet and its rich diversity of wildlife and nature. Raising awareness and education is so important and you guys are certainly doing your part. Both through your travels loving the Borneo series and the land in Portugal. I have learned so much through Diego and yourself about bees and have a new found respect for them. Also the olive trees that you have relocated and planted. It’s the little things that make a big difference keep up the good work guys.
Awww that was sad to watch however it will be with you literally. Thanks for caring about our wonderful earth and the people in it and the ones yet to arrive.❤❤
Your channel, your family, brings me comfort and also the adventures you live through.Mostly, I can't wait to see the house being built and the boys grow into good humans❤❤
Oh my..... 🌳 I cried with you! 😥 I too, am a tree hugger of may years. But as you said, sometimes it must be done, and its lovely how you will re-purpose it your home & honor it by planting a new one. 💚 Your love for nature and our planet is Beautiful. Have a wonderful week ahead Family!
Your compassion and grief expressed over that tree shows the good side of humans. I once cried over a beautiful tiny hummingbird that had crashed into our mountain rental house window. I felt so horrible and guilty that humans build these big houses with big picture windows in beautiful natural areas and cause such destruction. I don’t know how to rectify that sense of guilt but I think an awareness and a moment of grief is a cleansing thing to do for the complex human soul. The hummingbird was showing faint signs of life so I wrapped it in a towel and set it in a safe place and left it alone. When I came back it was gone. 😊
I understand your love for the big tree that you had to sacrifice for the building of your new home! It’s a wonderful idea to make a kitchen table where the tree had lived and was so admired! It can be admired every morning at breakfast?! As I watched your two sons working together helping place the limbs in a plume, I thought now there’s the treasure of life! Working together! Bravo! 👏👍🥰 And Obi running excitedly all around! Exciting!👍🥰👏🥰🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nothing saddens me more than cutting a tree. Even though is necesary. When Crusoe did not answer and just hug your legs just touched me the most. I feel so honored that i choose to follow your journeys probably from day one not sure when that was but Crusoe was just born or so. And the way you are educating your boys is the way i did with my daughter, free to experience everything,Sawyer smiling under the rain was my favorit shoot and Crusoe holding frogs and bugs without any fear its magnificent.
Oh sweet Newbys. I adore your love for trees. We here in the US do a special thing with a tree once it's cut down... We replant 2 in it's place. You pick which two but plant new trees. Also if you are so inclined purpose the tree you cute into a new purpose. A post, a totum, stepping stones, fire wood. Which ever your heart desires. Additionally if you do choose to burn some the ash is so beneficial to some of the plants in your veggie garden- courgettes, Tomato, Squash, Watermelon , Brussel sprouts, cucumbers pretty much anything on a vine would benefit from the ash. It's filled with nutrients that prevent root rot on the fruit your plants product- This tree can give new life to everything on your farm. So it's okay to mourn... But only for a little bit. As new life is so soon to come from it.
Hey lovely Newbys - what a journey you're on! I love your ethos and values - and I thank you for your insights into the links between trees/ecosystems/palm oil etc!! (as someone who's been championing sustainability and climate education for a lot of years, we need still need more awareness - thanks again1!!!🥰🥰🥰
Tara and John, you have me in tears. I totally understand how you feel, as I do, about the preservation of trees and wildlife. It's heartfelt and honest. Thank the trees for their presence and build them into your new home. May I suggest for you to plant four trees in their place. Thereby doubling their positive impact.x
I am glad to see you care and concern for the planet. The awesome part is you can plant 10 trees on your property with your boys that will have an impact on your grandchildren. Always give back more than you take when you can.
This is how everyone should feel about trees. Can you imagine how much healthier our world would be if it were? One of the reasons I tune in to your channel, is your connection to the world. Big hugs x
Hola amigos. Me encantó el video. Si, yo tambien pienso que los arboles tienen una energía especial. No os preocupeis, lo estais haciendo tan bien que es admirable. Un abrazo cariñoso, familia preciosa❤🥰
You have the correct hearts to do this and the land is thriving under your stewardship. That you will use the old tree for something beautiful has become the standard for a Newby project. What glorious lessons the boys are learning so that this love for and understanding of the land will go on with the next generation. Watching Crusoe help move the branches and do it so well for a 3 year old speaks volumes to what I’m saying here. It is always a joy to watch your endeavors and the transformation of this enchanted little farm in Portugal 🥰🥰👍👍🙏🙏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Tara and John, I feel your hearts as you watched the trees fall. Keep traveling with the boys, Explore and keep feeling what you see. John still love your haircut.
I completely understand the emotional attachment to the trees. We recently had to make the decision to remove a beautiful 60ft maple tree encroaching on our and our neighbor’s house. It’s heartbreaking even six weeks later. Every time I drive down my driveway and see that empty void it’s sad. It was necessary as was your decision. And pretty soon your new house will be going up and there won’t be a void where your tree was. ❤
The sad tree part is so well spoken of by others today that I just gave a gazillion thumbs up. I chuckled when Crusoe nixed the pipe walk. Love that the 3 year old is more sensible than dad 😂 Love you guys so much. You make me laugh and cry all within the span of 30 minutes. ❤❤
Good Sunday morning Newby family, we understand your emotions to that big strong tree, Tara and John, you can replant that same sort of tree planting in another free area of your farm. You are bringing new life where once all was dead. Rejoice in that you have the opportunity to do great things. Warm hugs and kisses to you all. Keep well. 🙏🥰💖🕊️🦋🌺👱👶🐶🏘️🏡🌅🏞️🇵🇹
The most admirable thing is that your plans for the new house included the tree staying in place. Others would clear the house pad for an excessive amount required so as not be inconvenienced.. you guys want to nestle your house into the natural landscape and trees…..much better.
I feel your pain, a TRUELY emotional time. Your bus and yourselves will recall this moment throughout your time in your home. I also love that you are talking about planting another tree in honour of what has to go. Another memory for you all as your lovely boys grow and develop. My heart goes with you all ❤️
I am ashamed to say that when this video first started and u were upset about the tree being cut down I thought don’t be so dramatic until u did a close up shot of that big beautiful tree and I became overwhelmed. My heart was so sad and it stood there so proud and wasn’t sick or dangerous and it was a horrible feeling. I starting thinking about what that tree has seen and felt and how much it has done for that land. It has to be done and if there was another way u would have done it. Have John build something for the new house out of that lovely tree and show it respect and let it live in in another way. I’m sorry for your loss but that tree opened my eyes and showed me it’s true beauty in that moment I swear to u. It really was something I have never felt before. Thank u for that gift.❤❤❤❤
I enjoy all your videos and the love and emotions you share along the way! Earth is our physical home; as stewards of the land, we must find our way of co-mingling without harm. Your repurposing the tree into parts of your new home and planting more trees to replace the one downed shows your love of God’s creation and how much you are instilling these values in your young boys! ❤
This is such an emotional video! 😢And yes, once can look upon the act of taking down a magnificent life-as-tree, and be practical about it, use the wood, etc, but the true message of this video is to show respect for nature to the viewer, and hometown, teach those beautiful little boys about the treasures found in nature! Thank you, Tara and John for your vulnerability and using this as a teaching opportunity🙏🌈
You and John are such precious people to share your grief over the tree. I certainly empathized and cried with you, for our area in Aiken, SC USA just lost thousands of huge hardwoods that decorated our area and the whole southeast actually due to Hurricane Helene. So precious that you will utilize your beautiful tree as lumber for your home. (Hugs and much love sent your way) May peace and blessings follow as this sacred tree adorns your house and the new one you will plant in its honor.
❤ I love how sensitive and caring you are. There should be more people like you in this world 😊 I look forward to seeing what you make with the wood of that old tree ❤
Watching that tree come down from the drone view was really dramatic. I am a tree hugger too so your sensitivity to this is very touching. You are such wonderful humans.
So I often alternate between watching TH-cam on my TV vs. my laptop, but having just watched I had to jump on the laptop to comment. Totally understand it may feel wrong or not right to fell the trees, and lament it, but just remember the sheer bio-diversity of all you've achieved so far on the farm, especially in the recent 'refugee enclave' that is the arrangement you had such a hand in with your neighbour, in rescuing Diogo's bee colonies from the fires, even before your visit to the new trees! Also, on another note, I'm sure it's not the first time I've mentioned it, but every time I see some of your B-roll involving João, I think blimey, that young man really grafts hard for them!
I absolutely love that quote Tara !. It is sad to lose your beautiful tree, but it's roots would probably undermine the foundations of your forever home. I feel certain you and John will find a way to give it a second chance of life in a new form. Be brave!
We have lost over 40 grandfather oaks in my three street neighborhood because of Hurricane Milton. Some fell during the storm, making people homeless. Others are being taken down because they are dangerous. Our entire are has lost massive amounts of oak trees and many homes. But we still have lots of other trees, just like you.
Nature will repair itself ...eventually, especially when given a chance. Sadly, many families who are poor, or don't have insurance will take longer to recover. We went through a hurricane in Mississippi when I was a child. I'll never forget the devastation ...fortunately our huge pines were unaffected ...but many others were & houses destroyed. The universal response to these events is just gratitude to be alive & hug one's loved ones. Thankfully, like trees, most of us (humans) are resilient also.
You are sooo sweet Tara ❤.. Crusoe was amazing helping Joao move the branches from the fallen tree and how sensible he was not to cross the pipe , well done buddy
I'm sorry for your loss guys, we used to have an apple tree in our garden when we were kids and a storm ripped half of it, so my dad had to cut it down. It was a sombre day - i feel you!! I cant wait to see what you do with the tree into the future. Mark.
This lady has a slight accent. I can place it. I am from Kenya, my mother was from Rhodesia, it is said I have a slight Rhodesian accent. I could be wrong. Great to fools your channel. I like the way you talk to your kids. The discussion about walking across a pipe to get across a river was interesting. wonderful. thank you ❤Chris Thailand.
Beautifully expressed, Tara. I'm totally with you on that one. Thank you for saying it and even more, thank you for so deeply feeling it. Aldo Leopold memorably said "One of the penalties of an ecological education is that one lives alone in a world of wounds. Much of the damage inflicted on land is quite invisible to laymen. An ecologist must either harden his shell and make believe that the consequences of science are none of his business, or he must be the doctor who sees the marks of death in a community that believes itself well and does not want to be told otherwise." That's been my lot in life and it hasn't been easy. And felling trees for the timber to restore the ruin that's slowly becoming my own home was a similar experience for me. I'm glad you'll immortalise the tree in some way so that it lives on with you. I built my kitchen out of the trees I lost in the 2017 fires and one day - when I've finished the house and my carpentry skills have improved enough! - I'll make a special dining table out of the most beautiful pieces.
Thanks for sharing that beautiful piece with us friend. Sorry to hear you had to go through something similar but making beautiful things from the wood is a way for us to honour the trees 🌳🙏🏼❤️
Shared tears with you Tara...Living in the woods on top of a mountain myself, whenever I hear one of our old sentinels' crack and crash to the ground it hurts my heart. Try to remember that others will grow and take their place in nature 💕
Priceless, new beginnings, new tree's, for the new home. Everything done in love. Big hugs precious treasures. Love watching you all from South Africa. 😊😊😊😊😊
Someone or nature planted that tree that you cut down to make a dining table for your family/ friends to sit around and nourish yourselves with food and love. You have planted fruit, olive & shade trees to help nourish future generations. They may even be sitting around the same table. ❤
Watching the boys just get in there and helping clearing the branches was great. Great boys . As far as the tree , it is heartbreaking but using it for future use will be bitter sweet. Even using the small branches , you can make bird houses., etc. we had to cut down our beautiful elm tree because of it getting into our house foundation. I still miss it ☹️

I believe its not completely right, any drone with camera even the ones lighter than 250gram have to be registered if it has a camera.
As part of the OPEN category, registration is compulsory for operators:
UAS that have a mass of 250 g or more;
UAS that have a mass of less than 250 g but:
can operate at speeds greater than 90km / h or/and
are equipped with a camera or a microphone
Most excellent idea! I was going to suggest something similar! S.
Great idea we planted a tree for each of our grandchildren when they were born ( they are in their twenties). Beautiful trees now they are fruit trees and we enjoy the fruits of our garden. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Watching your little men help is fantastic. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
That's a good idea. I'd suggest a small amendment: use the Devon 3:2:1 formula, which says plant *three* for any mature tree that you need to remove. 😎
Brilliant idea..it makes it more meaningful and mindful..
So sorry to hear that friend ❤️❤️
What a touching episode. Thank you for being so sensitive and not afraid to show it.
Loved that Crusoe was the sensible one with not wanting to cross the water on the drainage pipe….. you and John are raising sensitive and smart humans. Thank you again. Oh by the way….hug a tree. I’m an old hippie and proud of it❤❤
I love the way Crusoe gets right in hauling branches💖🙏
Loved that bit, too. He’s a real worker, that one!
Thanks so much friend ❤️❤️
I like big old trees also, but after surviving Hurricane Helene 2 months ago and seeing so many houses destroyed by big trees falling on them, I’m very glad you had the 2 trees removed so they will never destroy your new home. It will take us years to recover.
“In Nature, nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed”, Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier 🙌🙌🙌🙌
So very true😊
“In nature, nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed.” Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier. What a beautiful thought. I think of this as I add things to my compost pile. What is transformed will continue to nourish. The necessity of cutting down that tree will become an honored and cherished part of your home. What a gift! The emotion of watching it be cut down makes it all the more precious. Be brave in the transformation of the tree. ❤
@@QueenMum57I’ve not heard this quote before, but it resonates with the fact that energy cannot be created nor destroyed 💚🩵
We don't cry when we harvest beautiful flowers and vegetables from our gardens. Everything is for a time and purpose. Give thanks in everything.
🌳🙏🏼❤️
But it’s not same a flower than a tree… it’s very sad to cut a tree, That tree was fulfilling its purpose 😢
That is very special Deanne! 🌳🙏🏼❤️
All you have to do is use the wood of the tree to thank it and make sure it used for something beautiful! That way it will be with you forever 🥰
Love this Nathalie! Definitely something we will do 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼

@@janajanis9268so would you say the same me about ivory,,,,, at least you have a nice chess set, so the elephant lives on ?🤨
I am sorry, but you do have a choice, you choose to cut down the trees for your needs with building the house, thats what happens, so all the sadness and tears, to be honest don’t mean anything as it was only a requirement for your needs.
@@patrickbaldwin9244wind your neck in keyboard warrior would you have said that to john face to face?? I think not.
Caruso is such a great helper and his confidence is exploding!
Watching that pre school toddler working so hard on those tree branches was amazing. His brain body coordination is exploding. Sawyer was exactly right I thought. That round culvert pipe and his rubber boots were not going to go well together. He seemed to instinctively know that.
Big hug for you, Tara, John, Crusoe, Sawyer and the new trees 🌳 🌳 🌳

My niece and nephew are in forest management and they love trees. They've explained how thinning is vital to the health of other trees, habitats, and climates. Sometimes, older trees must make way for other trees to gain their full growth potential. So as I looked at all the surrounding trees, I was grateful that they would grow even stronger and healthier now. And thankfully, you have so many beautiful trees on your property to love. I had to cut down a 60-year-old apricot tree last year because it was dying. It broke my heart. But then, this year a Delicious Apple tree started growing next to where it was felled. Nature always wins!
Nature does win and we love it ❤️❤️
🩷🩷🩷 it may only be two trees, but it was life.
Thanks so much friend. We all send you lots of hugs too ❤️❤️
I am crying with you. It is the loss of a beautiful life. You do have such lovely memories! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Im crying too Tara. 🇦🇺🌺🦋
I cried with you Tara 😢 yet, the new life that will replace this beautiful tree is priceless 😊❤
Thank you for being so genuine. I felt the tears well up watching and listening to Tara's grief of losing this beautiful tree. You've inspired me to plant tree's in my back yard. Love you Newby's.
Thanks for being here Stephanie. We are so pleased to hear that we have inspired you to plant trees 🌳🙏🏼❤️
I wish everyone in the world cared about nature as much as you do. You clearly did not make the decision to fell the trees lightly and I know you will plant many more to replace what was lost. Keep being you. Thank you for being a caretaker of our planet!

I do dhtink sometimes as well we don't realise the impact until it is happening and it hits you and makes you realise how important nature is
Love your caring concern for all living things and the beauty and energy that they bring to our world. So glad you are replacing the downed tree with another and putting its wood to good use in your new home to honor its long life and beauty. Loved seeing Crusoe helping out! ❣
This is why I love this channel so much - the world needs more of your care and generosity for the planet we all share. Big hugs to both of you 😥
LOVE THE WAY LITTLE CRUSOE HAS NOW BECOME AN EXCELLENT LITTLE "FARM HELPER" - .....
😘💕
❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you Debbie!
Love the idea of having some bowls Michelle 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
As guardians of your land, I understand the pull of your heart strings in tree removal. But as you shared, the tree will live on in the pieces of art that John will create for your home. Crusoe picking up cut wood to salvage for future use in the garden as compost was epic. He will never forget this day. Blessings to you as we enter the week of being thankful. I am thankful for the Newby family.❤💛🍁🍂
Thank you Irma ❤️
Try to remember you did relocate several olive trees to both add to your land and protect them. Your awareness and connection to your tree, will definitely help you through the process of honoring it in your new home. Yes sleep deprived emotions are all part of the journey. Take care, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mary 🌳🙏🏼❤️
I love how affected you both were by the trees. And Tara, being a bit hippie is no bad thing!! Being open to energies and our connection with the world is a beautiful thing. 😍
Thanks Nic and Tris 🌳🙏🏼❤️
On the brighter side , I love the way Crusoe was helping! What a great big boy . Thank you for sharing ❤
Crusoe and Sawyer, what a champion workers you are moving all those branches 👏👏👏
Amazing friend ❤️❤️
Tara, you remind me of Dr Seuss' "The Lorax" as he mourns the loss of his trees.
You’re also replacing the tree…
I love this quote: Into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul by John Muir.
That Crusoe of yours is an incredible little man, the way he got right in there after the tree fell and off he went to help relocate the branches ect…
With much appreciation, Louise
It was such a sad day for us Maria. Not a nice thing to have to do! Thanks so much for watching 🌳🙏🏼❤️
The wife shed a tear watching the tree down she knows how you feel about nature it shows you have a big heart don't feel to down we are with you all the way 😭👌🌹
Your resilience and energy just make me so appreciative of your journey. You are modern day urban explorers in a rural setting and its incredible

Thank you so much!
I love how Crusoe jumped right in and started to help Joao and Augustinio with the branches and Sawyer turned to give his momma a hug.
I think your mixed reaction about the tree is just right and appropriate. We feel for you. The place looks so different now!
I probably would’ve cried too if that happened to us Nicole. Let’s hope the hummingbird was okay and wasn’t too badly hurt 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
Bravo!

Exciting!👍🥰👏🥰🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️
A kitchen table would be perfect Sally! Thanks so much for watching friend 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼

It is such a sad thing to do Eduardo! ❤️❤️
Love this Dawn. Thanks for sharing it with us 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
Well said. 😊
Feel with you - I had tears in my eyes. Trees are so majestic, and they are so valuable to earth. You will put the wood to good use ❤

Planting four trees is a great idea Christine 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
I love the tree nursery. Si glad you can plant more trees than what is cut down. Trees give us so much!
I’m so glad you plan to use the tree’s wood in your home. Now you’re planning to Plant more 🌳🌳to give back to the land.😊🙏

Hi Newbys. Your tree will live on through the beautiful and original furniture John will make from it in the future.
What a heart-felt episode. I LOVE that you are replanting and especially that you will gain a new love from that felled tree!!❤
We will definitely honour that tree by using it to make something beautiful Tammy, can’t wait!🌳🙏🏼❤️
Ah no we are so sorry you had to make that decision Sandra 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
The sad tree part is so well spoken of by others today that I just gave a gazillion thumbs up. I chuckled when Crusoe nixed the pipe walk. Love that the 3 year old is more sensible than dad 😂 Love you guys so much. You make me laugh and cry all within the span of 30 minutes. ❤❤
I love your sentiments about and honoring the tree. I hope you never lose that viewpoint.

Good Sunday morning Newby family, we understand your emotions to that big strong tree, Tara and John, you can replant that same sort of tree planting in another free area of your farm. Happy Sunday Joanne! Love the idea of planting another tree on the farm. Thanks for the suggestion 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
You are welcome life continues. Cheers 🙏🥰💖
With john's new hair cut he look like kenneth branagh (director of cinderella 2015 film) suits him well.❤
The most admirable thing is that your plans for the new house included the tree staying in place.
My heart goes with you all ❤️
❤️❤️🙏🙏
❤️❤️
I enjoy all your videos and the love and emotions you share along the way! Earth is our physical home; as stewards of the land, we must find our way of co-mingling without harm. Your repurposing the tree into parts of your new home and planting more trees to replace the one downed shows your love of God’s creation and how much you are instilling these values in your young boys! ❤
Tara, we need more people that care about what God has created and entrusted to us!! God bless!! ❤❤❤❤
Absolutly agree. I am so glad Tara and John are You Tubers, responsibly educating and highlighting these things
Never cease to amaze me what truly lovely thoughtful people you are, sending a big hug to you both 🤗
This is such an emotional video!
Thank you for your support friend 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
You and John are such precious people to share your grief over the tree. I certainly empathized and cried with you, for our area in Aiken, SC USA just lost thousands of huge hardwoods that decorated our area and the whole southeast actually due to Hurricane Helene. So precious that you will utilize your beautiful tree as lumber for your home. (Hugs and much love sent your way) May peace and blessings follow as this sacred tree adorns your house and the new one you will plant in its honor.
Thank you friend. That’s so kind. 🙏❤️
Yes Tara what a trip to Borneo I think the boys will always remember the elephant 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘so so beautiful 🥰🥰
❤ I love how sensitive and caring you are. There should be more people like you in this world 😊
I look forward to seeing what you make with the wood of that old tree ❤
Watching that tree come down from the drone view was really dramatic. I am a tree hugger too so your sensitivity to this is very touching. You are such wonderful humans.
Thanks for the compliment friend ❤️❤️
❤️❤️
Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of so many beautiful oak trees friend! 🌳🏡❤️🙏🏼
My reply to your given quote:
You wanna be comfortable or you wanna grow? Cause you can't do both!!
You are sooo sweet Tara ❤.. Crusoe was amazing helping Joao move the branches from the fallen tree and how sensible he was not to cross the pipe , well done buddy
So proud of our little boys friend 🌳🙏🏼❤️
I'm sorry for your loss guys, we used to have an apple tree in our garden when we were kids and a storm ripped half of it, so my dad had to cut it down. It was a sombre day - i feel you!! I cant wait to see what you do with the tree into the future. Mark.
you are a poet Tara: "softest candy floss clouds licking up the hill" - nice one!

Thanks Debra! ❤️
Feeling your sadness ❤ yet happiness to come with what you can build to celebrate the gift the tree has given you ❤
You’re quite right friend 🌳🙏🏼❤️
