The universality of the message in Kipling's lyrics is just so Joni! Wise and relatable. We vicariously live through her and wish her nothing but a speedy recovery! "and stoop to build again, with warn-out tools" You go girl! She's projecting and healing us and herself at the same time. Miraculously as always. I have listened to this track the most over the last few years, and believe me when I say, that I have been with Joni since the beginning, and listened to her as much as she smoked cigarettes.

lm in love with her. l met her at UCLA in the late 90s when she was playing there w/ bob dylan and van morison. She asked me if the kids would get her art displayed at the campus? l was buying tickets to see bob. She upstaged bob and van.
Interesting situation with her guitar- a tie from the wrist of her coat was dangling down and touching her strings, muting them. It wasn't un-musical, and I wonder if Joni knew it was happening. Anyways, she didn't hesitate anywhere and killed it. Stunned by her strong performance, stronger than Newport even. Miraculous!
I think she even tried to cope with it by moving her hair and playing much stronger. Nevertheless seeing her doing her right hand magic has been one of the musical highlights of my life
