This documentary presents an account of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) activities that had previously been covert, including activities in Iran, Guatemala, Cuba, Congo, Vietnam and Laos. The film includes interviews with CIA director Allen Dulles and Dick Bissel.
    About the CIA:
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is an independent civilian intelligence agency of the United States government. It is an executive agency and reports directly to the Director of National Intelligence, with responsibility for providing national security intelligence assessment to senior United States policymakers. The CIA also oversees and sometimes engages in tactical and covert activities at the request of the President of the United States.
The CIA succeeded the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), formed in 1942 to coordinate espionage activities against the Axis Powers for the branches of the United States Armed Forces. The National Security Act of 1947 established the CIA, affording it "no police or law enforcement functions, either at home or abroad".
The primary function of the CIA is to collect information about foreign governments, corporations, and individuals, and to advise public policymakers, but it does conduct tactical operations and carries out covert operations, and exerts foreign political influence through its tactical divisions, such as the Special Activities Division. Often, when field operations are organized, the U.S. military carry these operations out on behalf of the agency while the CIA oversees them. Intelligence-gathering is performed by non-military commissioned civilian intelligence agents, many of whom are trained to avoid tactical situations.
Sometimes, the CIA is referred to euphemistically in government and military parlance as Other Government Agency, particularly when its operations in a particular area are an open secret. Other terms include The Company, Langley, and The Agency.
The CIA from 1953 till 1965:
Allen Dulles, who had been a key OSS operations officer in Switzerland, became director of the CIA in 1953, at a time where U.S. policy was dominated by intense anticommunism. Dulles enjoyed a high degree of flexibility, as his brother, John Foster Dulles, was simultaneously Secretary of State.
During this period, there were numerous covert actions against left-wing movements perceived as communist. The CIA overthrew a foreign government for the first time during the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, at the request of Winston Churchill. Some of the largest operations were aimed at Cuba after the overthrow of the Batista regime, including the failed Bay of Pigs Invasion (1961) and attempts to remove Fidel Castro from power. In 1962, there have been suggestions that the Soviet attempt to put missiles into Cuba came, indirectly, when they realized how badly they had been compromised by a U.S.-UK defector in place, Oleg Penkovsky. One of the biggest operations ever undertaken by the CIA took place in Congo in support of Mobutu Sese Seko to become president in 1965.

It's so interesting how people of all walks of life were so much more articulate than people nowadays. Less distractions must've led them to think more and therefore have an ability to make such an interesting and informative documentaty that actually explains what was going on in the world when people had an attention span longer than 45 seconds and weren't worrying about censorship. This couldnt have even been made nowadays

Allen Dulles, Director of Central Intelligence during Eisenhower administration, was the brother of John Foster Dulles, who, as a board member of the United Fruit Company (the Chiquita bananas), asked for support from the US Government to overthrow Jacobo Arbenz, the elected president of Guatemala. This was because Arbenz wanted to take the land of the country (the land was in the control of UFC, somehow) and to give a part of the land to each Guatemalan without land.
As of this, the CIA wrote fairy tales about him, saying that he was a communist etc. The events from Guatemala practically defined what we call today a ”banana republic”. In case someone didn t knew or forgot.

    • @GrayFoxROU

@@beryllium1932USSR's activity in Latin America has been presented by the US Gov to the average American (and to other Westerners) as a boogie man, just like today's "terrorists".
In fact, it was all about economic influence. Selling markets for Coca-Cola, exploitation lands for oil and mining companies, or companies like UFC or Dole.
The USA hired former Nazis in South America, one of them was Klaus Barbie (the butcher of Lyon), for counterintelligence operations against the oponents of the right-wing dictatorships that ruled South America. They have also been involved in Operation Condor (Google for more details).
My point here is that the US were as evil as the Soviets during the Cold War, in terms of foreign policies. Probably, without the MAD doctrine, the Americans would have started a nuclear war with USRR, Hiroshima-style.

The Meta Game a multi-layered playing field with massive amount of interconnection without interconnection. One would think that multi-layered design would go in one direction like from down to up but I see this as something that cannot be described. Like trying to picture this as a onion , multiple successive layer upon each other. But this would assume that the playing field could be viewed as sphere when it's not.
Chaos Theory is so beautiful when you begin to consider a A puzzle that move in every direction , with an infinite possibility of variables changing over time and all interacting within each other.
Somehow I see this more complex than the Meteo itself. The level at which the meta is played must be insane. It's pretty much following the red pill and try to find just how deep the rabbit hole goes before understanding that each level is a sort of maze by itself with shifting pathway.
I lack the word to express more accurately how I see and perceive this.

It's an absolute crime what the ruling class had us do in the name of putting down a revolution. They colluded with the Vietnamese ruling class and sent the American workers to put down the Vietnamese farmers in what can only be described as an act of national rape.
That war was not a war of Americans and Vietnamese, it equally had a character of a one-sided civil war- a class war of the American and S. Vietnamese capitalists waged against American workers and Vietnamese Peasants.
