I agree! Typical of the times in that fancy terms (hype) are used to make a common sense idea seem more than what it is. SAP/ERP is nothing more than an internal cloud (a computer filing cabinet) where the access or entry of info is on a need to know basis. Decentralized means that Guero in shipping isn't allowed to see or change price schedules for products or things of that nature, but he can enter (show) that he shipped and order with UPS and at what time he did that. It's just simple record keeping with a fancy schmancy name. I've been passed over for jobs because I didn't have enough experience with SAP's because HR BU's want to make themselves feel special by presenting this sort of record keeping as nuclear physics. If you've ever turned on a computer, went to your FB page, typed in your UN & PW, navigated your way to and then through settings to lets say...change a setting...hit save, logged out and then went and did something else...then you're a pro at SAP. Now, setting up ERP for a user is a different story entirely. That's a programming and formatting issue done by IT guys...or gals. A walk in the park for those people because that's the normal way their brains understand the world. Computer geeks! God love'm!! Where would we be without'm and the only people I ever suck up to. LOL! I've been turned down for jobs because a judgement call was made by some beer30 loser that I was lying when I said in the interview that I have the mental capacity to remember the sequence of mouse clicks required to take me to a certain place to either review or enter data. Life is grand when your fate is in the hands of people that more than likely can't perform the very tasks required for the position you are applying for. LOL!! Be well.
Peter Miller So happy to see your reply. I have been getting passed up for jobs I’m more than qualified for because of my lack of experience with SAPs. So I added it to my resume and went to teach myself how to do it. Your reply was everything I’ve been thinking while learning. Thanks!
@@petermiller7300 I was passed on a job, because I didn't even know what ERP is. A company with less than 50 employees and manufacturers a limited product range thinks they need ERP in the year 2021. This shit is incredibly simple and commonplace to anyone who uses a smartphone. I interviewed with the CEO of a company and they want an "expert" on ERP. It's shameless ego stroking.

Got an interview for a job that requires some experience with SAP and I never even heard of it before. In the interview I'm gonna be honest about my lack of experience with it of course, but I expect them to ask me some basic question about SAP then - so your video here helped me quite a lot I believe, thank you !
@@barakamuthoka9492 I actually did - but they didn't mention SAP even once, neither in my first interview nor in the second and not even when I came over personally to meet the team of my department and see the labs and facility. So unfortunately this video didn't have anything to do with my success, but it helped to feel a little better prepared. I hope you'll have success too tomorrow! :)

I guess I'm the one person who actually searched for EPR system demo, cause I do need to know about it during a global pandemic for professional purposes. Unfortunately this demo sucks, with its constant pregnant pauses in the middle of almost each sentence. So I will be thumbing down and leaving 3 minutes in.

funny how you guys made it easier for me to understand the business process, kudos for that..it made me wonder why did i spend 4 year course..where someone like you can make me learn better in just a snap!
I've worked in distribution and worked with manufacturers for many many years. I could not count the horror stories I've heard from my counterparts in other companies who integrated SAP and damn near went belly up. One of our best and largest vendors saw their service level plunge from the high nineties to the low seventies and they've been struggling for months to bring it back up to an acceptable level.

In modern decentralized architecture modules are separate from each other but talk to using using events and APIs. You don't have to create a giant centralized system with a share database having things for all domains. Sales , Inventory and Planning can be of their own separate modules talking to each other with world standard interfaces (e.g. RESTFul API).
:) In Modern Cloud architecture everyone gets your data and it sooo safe - not. Imagine 365 Cloud system from Microsoft would get a funny Troyan ... half office world would be down. Getting the SAP enviroment infected will only hurt 1 company in 99,9% of the cases
LOL, because maybe google has seen you snooping around business-related stuff and felt it right to bring this to your notice. LOL. Talking about privacy. Another narrative will be em pushing social distancing down your throat. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you're on the edge this method of leadership might be useful in other areas of speculation. If you get my meaning.
