@@EpicJasonX9000 Well, yes, you're perfectly right! It's just that the delay between the Ghosts of Mars (2001) and the Ward (2010) has probably affected the production of the last one. Here we've got one of the most talented film directors ever, but just because his work doesn't represent the mainsteam (not financially successful) - we're put to watch any sort of superhero movies and very rare good horror movies once in while. Perhaps, somewhere in a parallel universe - there is another J. Carpenter who made at least 10 more movies... Even his 'Body Bags' (1993) was feeling fresher, than even the best comic movie ever. Sad, very sad. So much talent is being wasted...
well, I'm all for him directing again if they only did a few projects. I'm sure a 3rd final Escape movie with an old man Snake Plisskin ala Logan would be interesting. if anything, at least he's keeping busy with his music.
@@EpicJasonX9000 Yep, that'd be a great idea! I'd also wished for anything new that has to do with the 'end of the world': we've already had transfomable alien life forms, alien-humanoids, satan, demons, alien-zombies, kids-aliens and vampires - how about anything in deep space?

It should have been nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 38th Grammy Awards in 1996.
Or even best soundtrack at the Oscars. I tell ya, John’s scores as well as most of his films are legendary & timeless.
It's sad to live with it, that John Carpenter ended his directing career juts like that... How many great movies could have been filmed since 2001!
he did direct only 1 film in 2010, The Ward. and, well, it's not one of his best let's say.
