Wayland School of Music "Musical Beginnings": Hop Old Squirrel

These very young children (0-3) are learning about beat - the fundamental heartbeat of music.
First, they experience it through gross motor skills, walking and singing to the beat. Then the activity switches to fine motor skills, as they tap the drum - while also repeating different rhythms, against a steady beat.
The parents are doing a really great job modeling here! The kids join in as and when they're ready, but even those who are observing are learning a great deal through exposure.
