Just watched her Glastonbury act after reading the controversy and not sure if I'm missed something? I thought she was fantastic. Great voice, took the entire stage on her own, moved to her beat....isn't that what Glastonbury us all about. I hope she doesn't let the negativity stymie her talent and potential.
It appears that some criticised her for playing to a backing track and not having a real band up on the stage. I don't agree, but am glad it was that rather than her actual performance which was great.

I mean, if it really was that bad (I haven't seen it) I can't imagine what the basis was? Fair enough, the dancing etc might not be for everyone but she has a great sound, and that's coming from someone who absolutely does not follow this kind of music. Publicity from it all is going to catapult her anyway so I imagine she will see the positives to it very soon

@Yvonukon From what I've read, most do not like the fact that she sings Iver pre recorded music i think which I do understand. Haven't seen anything too bad apart from saying they don't like the style but some people take things abit too personal nowadays 🤷♂️

I’d never heard of this artist before, but after watching Jools Holland I’m definitely a fan of Billy No Mates now. That’s why I’ve always loved watching Jools Holland, because his show has introduced me to so many brilliant and talented musicians and artists of so many different genres of music.

Just discovered billy and thinks she's definitely a special original talent and a creative artist I've been watching bands and artists since 1974 from all the early punk and bowie of course and I would definitely pay to watch her live take no notice of the trolls the most they will ever achieve is seeing there own sad reflection in a mirror

I've been following this lady since her "Emergency Telephone" e.p and everyone I have shown her to from casual listeners to the most boring music fan have been unanimous in their praise of her. It is undeniable that this lady has some undefinable qualities in her and her music that shine through. How can it be that one small woman with only a bunch of backing tracks can fill up any stage she is on? Whether she's in a record shop or a t.v. studio, a stage or a video her performance and movements capture one's attention to the fullest, tbf, she's probably the only artist for whom a baking band for tours would be superfluous, no one would even be able to recall seeing them, perhaps she does have an eighty piece orchestra behind her and I am just assuming that there isn't one because the human brain (or what I have left of one) can't process anything more than her performance.
