I think what makes the vocal haunting is the amount of reverb they have in it. Although she is singing directly into a microphone, the audio is picking up the ambiance of the room she is in both her voice and the piano. .
In Boxes, Live at Lowlands festival please. The lead singer from Magic Dragons commented how good this cover was when it first came out. Aurora only had 1 hour to prepare this and s reading the words from the papers on the piano.

The cover of "Rasputin" was another of those "challenges" Aurora gets from the P3 studio.when wisit them to perform a new song of her own. She used under one hour to create this one. When we see a songs text in front of Aurora, this is a sign she did not know this from before. Many of her covers orginated this way..

Of course, her voice is absolutely ridiculous here, but as much as she likes to say she sucks on piano, I loved her delicate piano playing here too. That Teardrop cover is astonishingly good. I find Imagine Dragons to be almost unbearable....so even Aurora couldn't rescue this song, for me. But she obviously still sounds incredible. She's done SO many covers come to think of it...which I find really cool. One that's under the radar is her cover of Alanis Morisette's "Thank U." It's quite faithful to the original, which I think works because I've often thought it sounds like a song she _could have_ written herself.

A cover that is better than the original is definitely "God is Woman". I had never heard the original, before hearing Aurora's version and when I finally heard it, it was a run of the mill pop song. Aurora essentially goes around and steals these songs, because after she does her version, there really is no need for the original.
I think the story behind this performance, (a kind of task from Norwegian radio channel p3) was to give the artist 1 hour of preparation, before the performer (chooses a song from a number of options) then an hour later. sing the song. Aurora is not very familiar with music (doesn't listen to the radio much) so thought the name inmagon dragon sounded cool. didn't know this song before. the same was well and behavior with god is a woman sorry for my bad english

I find Imagine Dragons to be almost unbearable....so even Aurora couldn't rescue this song, for me.
But she obviously still sounds incredible. She's done SO many covers come to think of it...which I find really cool. One that's under the radar is her cover of Alanis Morisette's "Thank U." It's quite faithful to the original, which I think works because I've often thought it sounds like a song she _could have_ written herself.
@@avedic I love her cover of Thank U, I listen to it quite often since it is available because she recorded this song for a tribute album. I like Alanis Morisette, but, I prefer Aurora's rendition just because I love her voice so much more. I prefer the Teardrop cover to this cover of Believer, but, I do love this cover too, I'm so fickle, lol.. Have a great rest of the week my Warrior friend. 😍

@@gliebzeit tbh...I still prefer the Alanis original cuz imo it's a 100% perfect song. It's actually one of my favorite songs of all time. But even before Aurora covered it I had literally thought she could/should cover it because its such an Aurora kind of song...both musically and lyrically. 😁

A cover that is better than the original is definitely "God is Woman". I had never heard the original, before hearing Aurora's version and when I finally heard it, it was a run of the mill pop song. Aurora essentially goes around and steals these songs, because after she does her version, there really is no need for the original.
I think the story behind this performance, (a kind of task from Norwegian radio channel p3) was to give the artist 1 hour of preparation, before the performer (chooses a song from a number of options) then an hour later. sing the song.
Aurora is not very familiar with music (doesn't listen to the radio much) so thought the name inmagon dragon sounded cool. didn't know this song before.

I'm not a fan of imagine dragons and this song but in this case Aurora improves every cover she does and love this version. , but the best one is the Life on Mars cover, I still can't believe that Aurora manages to make it better than David Bowie. it sounds deeper, but above all she succeeds much better in conveying it and singing it more like a story and we are talking about David Bowie that Aurora has covered Aurora improves every cover she does, and how you comment on this cover is wonderful and moving to see
