- THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE VISITING KANO, NIGERIA
As you all may or may not know Kano is the business and culture center of Nothern Nigeria. I spent 3 days in Kano, during my stay and with a little research I was able to come up with things you should know before visiting Kano Nigeria.
This is definitely not all you need to know but with this you should be able to enjoy your stay in Kano city.

i was there for almost two months. from november to december 2019. it was the cold season so i was so relieved since I kind of hate warm weather. i lived on Abbas Road, near the race course. I wasnt able to see much of the city because people told me it was not too safe for me as I am Asian. Still I would walk from our accommodation to different places like Barakat, Tahir Guest Palace, and even my friends' accommodation near Porto Golf Hotel on broad daylight and nothing untoward happened. I wonder how it is now, especially the weather now that it is April. I met some interesting people, and some are really nice especially the security team in charge of us. Anyone here from Kano? Kano is really cool and beautiful with good roads and walkways.
Yes, it is! Just came back from Kano recently and one thing I noticed was that they are also stepping up their game with regards to rice farming due to the border closure.

A lot of wealth in Kano due to the commmercial robust nature. lots of business and money to be made if u are into business.Nice laid back city, except a lot of christian blood have bn shed and still shed, insecurity is a serious issue for christians and as aresult, a lot ve relocated. I was a student in Bayero University in late 90's/ early 2000, witnessed deadly religious riots and killings. I must say i fell in love with the city due to the quiet life, cheap and affordable living unlike Anambra where i lived. Its a lovely place and without the killing, i can call it home. I will miss Kano. My uncle lived there for more than 30 yrs , then retired from BUK and left immediately due to riots and killings. Religious killing is a fundamental problem with high illiteracy and unemployment. Generally, its very safe for indigenes but can be very unsafe for christians till date!

Visiting Kano is death. This video doesn't want it because the people don't welcome visitors. I've lost my uncles and other relatives who visited Kano. So, to me, it is a place not to go.
