This special had noticeable cameos of Mrs. Claus and the two elves from The Year Without A Santa Claus and this special's own Rudolph figure.

The Rudolph model is actually the updated one who appeared in “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” the year before this special.
I cried when his mother died but rankin bass is and was the best.
