Anyone who has watched the Expanse knows the strategy to preventing fires and explosive decompression in combat. If you are knowingly entering combat, suit up and put your helmet on, then decompression your ship (in SC that'd be disabling the life support). No oxygen means no fuel for fires and no pressure for explosive decompression. If you're a solo player, then just turn off your life support and your risk of having a fire should, in theory, be massively mitigated.
Could not agree more, I know there are some cool looking civilian wear outfits but none are worth dying for lol. So I am always fully armored while on my ships. This may mean I have less "fun" with the fire aspect of the game but I am good with that.
A great example of how ship design continues to improve. The lift with quick access to the cockpit alone is an excellent QoL feature. Hopefully one day some of this learning will make its way back to older ships.
I don't know about that, the Connie's have had an exit near the bridge/cockpit since the beginning. The fact that the Zeus has one might be caused by the brand style guide for rsi. The fact that crusader ships don't have an cockpit exit might also be a style guide thing.
I'm really tempted to up my c1 to this, it just looks like a more fun amount of ship, but need to fly it to see if I'm happy with the expected loss of the manoeuvrability etc

The Zeus MK2 ES has officially become my new favorite solo exploration ship. I checked it out last night in the PTU and was gushing at EVERYTHING. I really REALLY hope CIG has learned a lot from the Zeus MK2 when they re-polish the Constellation ships.
Waiting for the Zeus to go live. I was curious to see the cargo arm/tractor beam, but overall great vid for showing off one of the best looking ships so far.
I didn't know that you can fire the turret weapons without going to the camera view of the remote turret. It would almost make sense for the component bays to be airtight to smother a fire in them. I love the detail all the ships have.
The Zeus size ships should be workable solo. I get it for the larger ones. But the Zeus is pretty small compared to other similar role ships like the Corsair.
It looks pretty good. I wouldn’t mind a medical variant to compete with the Cutlass Red. Run patients to Apollo’s. Ngl, I was hoping you’d fly it over Lier II a bit more.🇺🇦🇭🇹🇵🇸
I love the fact that there's not a ton of wasted space in the interior. I hate how many cockpits have this giant open space large enough to host a kegger behind the seats.
Can't wait to get random items in the kitchen and sleeping area, make it all "homey". Great ship, looking forward to the next in line, and updates to older models.
it would be cool if the air lock erternal had panels that folded down to create that walkway when you open the door for a better shape still a grate ship
With all the new stuff coming out to make multi-crew ships need crews, it will be interesting to see how solo players that have these ships adjust. I know I will end up flying my single crew ships more.
The only thing I wonder about with the ships released years ago and today, is when will the ships have outdated design Language? Outdated textures? Functionalities? If they aim for a full release, are there entire re-works planned for the older ships? The Vanguard Warden needs some help, and the Constellation line up could use some help, too. IMO
The Zeus' more close competitors are the spirit and cutlass series of ships. It doesn't compare to the constellation in any way other than cargo! The constellations have way more firepower and combat ability than even the MR
This ship makes me wonder why I should even bother with my Spirit any more, it does everything better from what I’ve seen. Even in terms of feeling like a realistic spaceship, it seems to use its internal space much better.
It's a really nice looking ship I kind of wish they would come out and say what they want each of the medium ships to do. I'm really close to switching out my C1 for the new shiny
from all the videos i seen about the Zeus, it seems no one is checking if you can stand in the airlock balcony while in space, or you lose gravity as soon as you walk out the door.
Good looking ship - just wonder at the 150 mark - would people skip it in favour of the cheaper C1 or pay a little more and get the Taurus - can see the either one being more popular if they nurf the Corsair to only being able to use 2 of the forward facing guns if you're solo.
So the style I like is similar to the avenger. Ship with good firepower, has interior big enough for vehicle (nothing crazy huge but as least a meditover or a cyclone), and a rear ramp. Also day 7 of the dibs. Wonder what kinds of vehicles can fit. Size…. I think maybe bigger then avenger but kinda smaller then connie tbh the spirit would be perfect but I just wish it was a bit bigger for vehicles. Hopeful for Zeus but wish it had at least one more gun for pilot
Should I buy one [in-game], it most likely would be the CL version, although I still would rather have a ship with a 250 to 300 SCU capacity - somewhere in the middle of the currently available ships.
Any ship that's classed as an explorer MUST have a med bed or be able to carry a medivac. No explorer every said " I'm off to find new world and unusual places but i'm not going to take any medial supplies or anyone that known basic 1st aid" well the one's that did never came back. The Rocinante from expance was a gun ship - had a med bay. Serenity from firefly was a small transport ship - had a Med bay, even Mando's Razer Crest had an area for medical and survival gear. So come on CIG at least make the rear doors big enough to let the medivac drive in.
Did I see 49 shots on the guns?! if so that's pretty good, I didn't get to see the capacity on the CL though do you know if it's any different than the es?
As soon as i can upgrade imm upgrading my titan to this, like ive never been excited for a ship in this game but the zueus series was like love at first sight when i learned about it last month lolz
if the titan is a starter pack i'd advise against it. if you have a 120 month insurance on the titan then fair enough but most starter packs come with 6 months. You might still be able to buy the ATLS warbond for a LTI then CCU the ATLS to the Zeus.
Its not a solo ship, yet you can try, become a better pilot or remove all weapons, fit crap components and fly in a gown. No one will want you or your ship. Seriously, just get a Zeus and do your best, many will try......also, claim times will be short.
@@davewills148 How many hours you already have flying and playing with it? Seems a bit early to determine it isn't soloable? Sure you'll struggle and probably die if someone comes to get your cargo but that's a risk most cargo haulers are willing to take, specially on this size of ship. Or are you really thinking people will be just jumping at the idea of crewing this ship to use fire extinguishers or play with a single turret? Unless maybe if you're playing with a friend? And what does having several fire extinguishers have anything to do with multi crew on this ship anyway?! Judging by their location, on THIS SIZE of ship, just means that they are on critical areas where fires might occur, which is close to components. Sure it will be more efficient if you have more people with you but it seems by all means soloable but I'll be 100% once I've used it. Would love to comment on your second comment but couldn't make any sense about the whole gown and removing weapons thing. Anyway, different people, different ideas and perceptions I guess. Peace ✌️
Well you brought a eunuch to start with, should have gone for the CL, and yep it it does tick many boxes:, lots of fire extinguishers, and a nice engineering console, fire Management, distributed weapons, life support, new ballistics, ship armour and the icing on the cake PYRO, good luck chuck

and most of us are suited up in the seat anyway. So most of the time you wont even have to do that. Just fly in without life support.

Cargo Elevator would mean the ship would have to be much taller on its Landing Gear.

Zeus left seat turret guns and they function like a turret, right seat Tractor Beam for the outside cargo.

I would like to see the third variant as well. They do look good but we'll see if they can compete with the likes of constellation

I wish I had a use for the Zeus CL but I already have a MSR and it doesn't make sense to loose the data running capability for a little more cargo.

The Cl looks amazing and will prob replace my c1 but the MR's release is one I'm hanging for.
The Zeus looks really nice, maybe I'll buy it in game at some point.
But for now I have to excercise restraint and stick to my current fleet :)

I think zeus will be fine for solo layers, it's not that big and you will be in the same situation on a smaller ship if a fire breaks out.
I'm curious as to how hard it will be to load larger boxes into the CL the ramp and door seem small compared to others.
The very small size difference between the cargo decks of the two variants makes me think that the 32 vs. 128 scu is largely artificial.
They should have put a ladder hatch on the MSR!

I think my C1 will be getting upgraded to the CL, i like the look of it more, it looks like its better appointed.

They are super sharp ships. I don't know if I will add one to my fleet.

I'm mostly a solo player and the Zeus is very much a solo'able ship... any larger (like the Conni) and you will need friends to remain effective.

How were you able to even leave your starting city? Been trying for days on the PTU and nothing works at all.
Why are we getting the ES if we have the MR? There is NO exploration in ANY form yet, we should get the CL at least for do some missions.
