Even had a friend of the family who's been with allstate for 42 years as a claims/sales manager & owns his own business here in San Antonio reach out to me & wouldn't help me once he found out I didn't have a bachelors yet alone an associates.... Even trainee positions same thing not qualified they all want degrees.

Would you recommend to start as a desk adjuster or cat adjuster? Given the opportunity, I have a buddy who's a commercial claims manager for sedgwick and he can get me a 1099 desk adjuster job. Which position makes more money?
Should someone begin to learn Xactimate X1 or Xactimate 28? Or does it even matter? All Xactware will let me demo is X1 but at the same time I keep seeing videos of people still using 28 so i don't know which one to go with. Do you know what most IA Firms using?
I can answr that for ya. X1. X28 will be shut down in December
They are essentially the same program so if you already know 28, you'll be fine in X1. And it's the carrier and firm who will dictate which version you use. When you get on rosters and start getting your carrier certifications, they will give you guidance on which version to install. Most likely it will be X1 (see Mike Treaster's comment)
