Do what makes you happy, explore new parts of your life that could lead to lifelong careers. Everyone chooses different paths in life. Yours might look different than groups of people from your graduation, and it may seem scary and you know what that’s okay. I applied for a job in what I’m graduating college from but didn’t get it, so it sent me into the thought process of “what if this isn’t for me” “I thought I’d improved” because I worked a co-op position as the final part of my schooling and now I’m back at square one where I’m back to my old job and I don’t know where to start or how to search for employment because I can’t get anywhere outside of my city without taking a train because I don’t have my drivers license at 21 so it limits my opportunities. I want to work with seniors and run programs and do the programs with them without being in a managers position yet since I’m only graduating in October. It’s a huge new step in my life and I feel kinda lost sometimes. During school most people in my program, recreation and leisure services, went towards the sports aspect and I stayed in the seniors and leisure piece, but eventually I was like you know what I’m doing what’s going to make me happy because this is what I’m passionate about and I’d rather be happy in what I’m doing rather than be making a large income and be miserable . I’m telling you this because I want to remind you that you’re not alone, and it’s okay to take different paths than everyone else and to always try to have faith in yourself. pivoting from your undergrad degree is super normal and does not take away from your accomplishments! we were babies when we chose our programs! I'm going into teaching from a program that generally leads to research positions/stem grad school but that doesn't change the fact that I've got a molecular bio degree!

Hey girl, I'm watching your video as I write this and I'm realizing we have had such similar experiences lately. I had to take a gap semester and move back home for a few months since I've been really sick for a while and I just found out I need brain surgery; on top of that I'm relapsing in my ED too. Even though none of that is fun or even remotely good, it's nice to know that I'm not alone. Your channel provides so much comfort for me during this time. I haven't been able to drive in months so I take the bus and I always listen to your salon roleplays while I ride them and they always give me such a laugh even when I'm really stuck in a pit. Oceannnnn, you are so beautiful 😍 like I swear you get prettier with each video. This video really hit for me because college has been such a struggle. I’m in graduate school right now working on my master’s degree and I have no friends, I feel inadequate compared to my classmates, I second guess myself constantly. I didn’t walk across the stage for my first 2 degrees and I doubt I will with my last one bc I feel exactly how you described it. I’ve have had no luck finding a job with my bachelor’s degree while I finish school and it’s just ughhhh. It’s so hard but I hope you know that all of us are so proud of you for doing school, making videos, having your OWN BRAND!!! and constantly giving back with your charity videos. You are such a beautiful person inside and out and you really have such a light about you. You will do such amazing things I just know it. Also, thank you for opening up about your negative thoughts. I'll start my first year of uni tomorrow! Of course I don't live in Canada(I live in Europe) but still... thank you for the lovely video! Your advice is very much appreciated and loved! For those who are shy and very introverted like me what I recommend is to wherever you are(parties, events, cafeteria etc.) look for people that are shy and off to the side not talking to anyone just like you! They're most likely looking for friends and too shy just like you! So go talk to them! Because you're similar you're more likely to become friends!

I know its hard sometimes to be proud of yourself and to not put yourself down but honestly you have accomplished so much and it doesn’t matter what others are doing because what your doing is amazing too!!! Everyone is at different points in their lives And everyone goes down different roads to get to where they need to be. Congrats on graduating! Also just wanted to add a word of advice for those finishing high school (I'm basically a professional student, having spent almost 10 years at university now hahaha), don't feel pressured to go straight to uni from high school! Most people don't know what they want to do when they're 18, and it can be super helpful (and good for your wallet and student loan balance) to take a year or two as a gap year and work and travel or whatever and figure out what you want to do.
I can definitely relate to feeling like an imposter, but I have realized that no one really knows what they are doing. I started to feel better when I looked into statistics looking at how many people actually use their college degrees. I have also found the Reddit Thread Looking for a Path extremely helpful and supportive. Sending endless hugs and support your way!

I know I am late to commenting on this, but I start at University in Fall 2024 and this video helped with my anxiety so much! I am moving 4hrs away from home in a town i have not been to before other than possibly in passing to florida but that was years ago 🤣 Moving on this really helped with that anxiety of the unknown and gave some really good advise for someone who is about to start.

Oceannnnn, you are so beautiful 😍 like I swear you get prettier with each video. This video really hit for me because college has been such a struggle. I’m in graduate school right now working on my master’s degree and I have no friends, I feel inadequate compared to my classmates, I second guess myself constantly. I didn’t walk across the stage for my first 2 degrees and I doubt I will with my last one bc I feel exactly how you described it. I’ve have had no luck finding a job with my bachelor’s degree while I finish school and it’s just ughhhh. It’s so hard but I hope you know that all of us are so proud of you for doing school, making videos, having your OWN BRAND!!! and constantly giving back with your charity videos. You are such a beautiful person inside and out and you really have such a light about you. You will do such amazing things I just know it.
Also, thank you for opening up about your negative thoughts. When I see someone who looks like you and you’re doing the things that you’re doing, I always assume you have it all together and have no issues with your self esteem and it’s comforting to know that everyone struggles in some way.

For those who are shy and very introverted like me what I recommend is to wherever you are(parties, events, cafeteria etc.) look for people that are shy and off to the side not talking to anyone just like you! They're most likely looking for friends and too shy just like you! So go talk to them! Because you're similar you're more likely to become friends!

Congrats on graduating! Also just wanted to add a word of advice for those finishing high school (I'm basically a professional student, having spent almost 10 years at university now hahaha), don't feel pressured to go straight to uni from high school! Most people don't know what they want to do when they're 18, and it can be super helpful (and good for your wallet and student loan balance) to take a year or two as a gap year and work and travel or whatever and figure out what you want to do.

I can definitely relate to feeling like an imposter, but I have realized that no one really knows what they are doing. I started to feel better when I looked into statistics looking at how many people actually use their college degrees. I have also found the Reddit Thread Looking for a Path extremely helpful and supportive. Sending endless hugs and support your way!

Wow! I’ve been a seashell since the beginning, but I feel like this is the most vulnerable I’ve ever seen ocean be! 😭 It’s so hard to remember when she’s doing role plays for us that she has her own life and struggles going on! I love seeing this side of her and remembering she’s just human too 🥰

Hey Ocean - You should really try dapping some tea tree oil on your infected piercings, I always do it when they start getting irritated or infected, it’s the only thing that has actually helped me! And I have 4-5 in each ear too

As someone looking into your life from outside, I just want to say that I hope you find compassion and comfort in all your accomplishments. Imposter syndrome is extremely scary and invasive with the kind of thoughts it brings and I hope you know that while we think so highly of you, we see and appreciate you acknowledging your struggles. ❤
I know I am late to commenting on this, but I start at University in Fall 2024 and this video helped with my anxiety so much! I am moving 4hrs away from home in a town i have not been to before other than possibly in passing to florida but that was years ago 🤣 Moving on this really helped with that anxiety of the unknown and gave some really good advise for someone who is about to start.
