@@TheAdventuresOfJimiJaden Thank you, not only for adding the videos to Internet Archive, but for being one of the three guys who got in touch with the only person who'd still have the footage, and helped make history. Keep up the good work.
I know this was posted 2 years ago and i guess I’m late to seeing this but WOW. I am actually in awe that the full Luigi’s Mansion Spaceworld 2000 FMV has been found in its entirety. I remember when I was a kid, watching videos on the Beta of Luigi’s Mansion from TH-camrs like Beta 64 and always being fascinated by it, and this trailer in particular. I remember searching online about the ghosts playing cards in the parlor but could find only images of them which was few and far between, so seeing them fully come to life here along with that sequence where Luigi turns around and gets scared by the ghost is awesome to see. Adam, you are a legend for having this footage after all these years, and for uploading it to TH-cam for everyone to see. Thank you
Feeling like I am just watching old ass pictures finally coming to life right there ! Oh and also this just confirmed the fact that the supposed 'removed game over' wasn't actually from the game. Nice!
So the depressed luigi came from the lost spaceworld footage and not from e3 2001 trailer. We should have known. To think 20 years later we are still finding thing out.
Bro this was years before I was into video games and I never got to see the whole thing with psyduck at some party and link and Gannon fighting it out! Man must’ve been wild times! Wish I was their!
It's unbelievable to finally see that entire clip with ghosts playing cards. Before this it was only a 1 second clip that was ever recorded, in much lower quality no less! Like just wow, it's incredible seeing this lost footage and having the beta revival projection. What a time to be a Luigi's mansion fan lol
Wow, this is amazing footage you've released! I did a reaction stream vide to a lot of these older archive clips from SpaceWorld 2000 and E3 2001 over on my channel, and I never imagined that someone would find extended footage to those clips within the year! This is amazing, thanks for this!! I'd love to see more released later, if you still have some extra stuff from SpaceWorld 2000 and E3 2001 from when the GameCube was just about to release -- I love looking at these old archive reels and promo footages!
OH MY GOSH AM I DREAMING?!?! I never would have thought the day would come when we would finally see the full fmv! Especially so early! Thank you SO much for uploading this!
I remember that I saw pictures of this video in a Club Nintendo magazine back in the 2000, it is so cool to be able to watch the full video now, thanks
So. Basically. Luigi got so scared out of his mind for walking into that mansion, that it made him so exausted, he looked like a ghost himself. That makes SO much sense now
Digital cameras existed at the time, but when you wanted to publish that footage, you needed to compress it by a lot to put it on web pages, or to air it on tv.
@@Phil564 I meant how the footage was found, not filmed. I was talking to Adam Doree, the story just seemed fantastic, it had to be shared with others.
Holyshit this is actual new footage best of all it has the full version of the beta intro they're so awesome I thought we would never find the full beta intro
Okay, so we've got an early Luigi's Mansion, Meowth's Party (probably just a tech demo to show off how many characters in real time it can do), Wave Race: Blue Storm, Metroid Prime (tech demo bit, possibly, since we aren't in the helmet), Star Wars: Rogue Leader, the infamous Zelda tech demo that made people initially disappointed in Wind Waker, and a Joanna Dark tech demo. ...and a prototypical GameCube controller where three out of four face buttons are bean-shaped, instead of just two of them.
This footage is a great find! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the entire Luigi’s Mansion beta trailer ever naturally shown before, or at least never a version so early of the game. Those ghost designs are pretty interesting though. It makes me wonder what led them to using the classic ghosts in the game today. Maybe the goal was to give them a design fit for combat at a moment's notice. Maybe the new designs provided a better technical showcase. It still wows me that the game came out in 2001 while looking as good as it still does. I think having the audience even preserves it just that much more. It sounds like there were some people actually really excited for Luigi’s Mansion, a new console Metroid, and the promise of another Legend of Zelda game having Link as an adult again. Even Wave Race and Perfect Dark sounded like it got the crowd excited once the teasers became apparent. I was a bit surprised that Star Wars and Pokemon didn’t get as big of a reaction, but I guess both crazes were beginning to calm down amid the 2000’s and that this was mostly attended by adults. Also that GameCube controller looks a little strange, but I honestly want to try holding it. Having the B button be another kidney face button sounds strange, but sometimes I wish the B button was just a little bigger. The change to a circle probably did help with distinguishing button prompts though. - Noah
@@KDeds21 That's exactly why I think the Legend of Zelda the Windwaker didn't have as universally positive of a reception at its initial reveal. The Windwaker utilized a very evident tonal shift to what the was teased years before. I, personally, am welcome to the Windwaker's change in visual shift; however, I think that the Link vs. Ganondorf tech demo was actually taken by many as either a new Legend of Zelda instalment or at least a work in progress teaser for a Legend of Zelda game which would be released for the gamecube. Thanks to this footage, I can easily see why it was very possible to mistake this as more than just a demo, considering that many of these games highlighted in the reel were shown to be in development. I have no doubt that many people anticipated of this demo would be more than "a little let down" by being shown one thing and then being given something visually completely different. In a way, I do still I think that the developers eventually held true to fulfilling the general misconception with the announcement of the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, though. I feel like giving the gamecube a Zelda closer to the style of what was shown with the demo was still a good call even if it was a little late.
