- We're finally on the Great Lakes along The Americas Great Loop-E12
In this episode, we leave Harbour Place Marina, spend a few days at Sunlife Marina, and cross our first leg of Lake Erie. Since we are originally from Buffalo, it was great spending time with our family and friends, and having the opportunity to show off our Sea Ray Sedan Bridge, LunaSea Too.
Our hot water tank is fixed, our battery charger is replaced, and our aft bilge pump is working again. So, we're off looping again!

I am so wanting to go from Huron Ohio and do the Erie Canal. Presque Isle seems like the place to stop along the way.
We love Presque Isle. Before we traveled by boat, we visited there a few times by car. Great beaches!
How do you like the 400 Sedan Bridge? I'm considering the same boat for the loop. How do you handle the dingy? Is it just on its side on the swim platform, no davits or lift?
We used a sling. It's basically a net that slides under the Dinghy and allows you to tie it up. It works fine but it leaves a lot of extra lines on the back boat. We just had a Hurley H30 Electric Davit installed. I haven't seen it or tried it yet. It comes out of the shop in about 2 weeks.
We love the boat it easily fits under all the bridges on the Great Loop. The one downside is that it is designed to go fast. We wanted a faster boat for traveling to the Bahamas when we get to that point. Most of the time we don't travel very fast. So, we have to blow out the carbon regularly to prevent it from building up in the exhaust and turbo's. Other than that, she's easy to handle, plenty of space, and very comfortable.
@@joeanddianesboatingadventure What year is your boat? I've been aiming for 2002 or 2003, since I believe 2001 is when SR transitioned from coring to solid hull below the waterline in the 400..
@peterinsyracuse7056 Ours is a 98. I have heard of many of these boats with balsa core issues but fortunately ours wasn't one of them.
What does the E12 stand for
Episode 12. It helps me keep track of them on my computer. The titles aren't alphabetical so if I didn't keep some kind of reference on it, I would quickly forget which video I did when. If that happened ... I might make the shameless mistake of using the same song(s) 2 video's in a row or some equally horrifying mistake! I hope all is well with you and thanks for watching.
