Looking through mine, I initially tried to decide between Final Fantasy XIV (PS4), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. What I realised was they were difficult because of the grind. But for ACTUAL difficulty? Maybe Streets of Rage 4? S- Rank on Hard for all levels took a lot of practice.

I’m only in the single digits for my platinums, but I am insanely proud of my Hollow Knight platinum! By far the hardest thing I’ve done in a game, Absolute Radiance is insane.
Love how he mentioned Mr Freeze. Hitman is one of my favourite games ever alongside FFX, and whenever I was really stuck with redacted challenges or suit only's, Mr Freeze was the answer.
Red Dead 2, for sure. The amount of things that you have to do to platinum is insane. Analyze all animals, complete all challenges, do 100%, get gold in many quests, reach level 50 online, and more.
Red Dead 2 has a ton of stuff to do for the Plat, and yet even more things you could do that aren't required for the Plat. I had about FIVE MONTHS between my second-to-last and final trophies. My last trophy was The Real Deal (MVP 3x in PvP). I was stuck at two MVPs and just had to take a break. Ironically, that trophy is only the 11th rarest trophy in RDR2.
Hell yeah MrFreeze! Every time a new Hitman came out I was watching him for tips, he's a fantastic youtuber - sometimes I'd just have his videos on at the same time I was playing the game and mirror all his moves.
Near a thousand hours in Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the platinum. Luck based and frequent game crashes made it so much more difficult. Vanquish, the skills required to beat the trials were brutal.
Modern Warfare Remastered, Crash 1, God of War 1, WWE 2K19 easily my most challenging ones. Honorable mention to Uncharted 1 for the Crushing difficulty

Most difficult platinum was Overwatch for me, played the game since launch, I spent days maining Lucio just to try to get the floor is lava, then you got rapid discord that's mostly luck, then you have the path is closed and mine sweeper which is impossible unless the other team is playing a certain character. I gave up because nobody was playing sym so I couldn't get the sym trophy of destroying 3 teleporters but I got the inspiration back once I randomly got it one match and realized I was only 2 trophies away from the plat
A friend of mine has that one. It took him a couple of years to finally platinum it too. I try to get trophies here and there but I’m so burnt out from the game idk if I’ll ever try to go for it lol
Nice one! I got the platinum a few years ago, and it definitely is a tough one. I’m trying to go for the 100% right now. The only trophies I have left are bap’s trophies.
I am at 79 plats so far- so many hard in different ways- There's the From Soft plat achievements- elden ring, sekiro, demons souls, bloodborne.. The I did it plats. Crash bandicoot was a challenge, so too was uncharted and bioshock series (though i loved getting it). Things like Cyberpunk, fallout 4 and valhalla take ages. BUT possibly the hardest plat I've got could be Battlefront 2. That was a huge moment and very challenging.
Final fantasy X. Lost my sanity trying to get the chocobo race under 0 seconds and dodge 200 lightning bolts. Also filling the sphere grid was so time consuming. Worth it.
Hardest plat for me was KH2 final mix on ps3. The combination of the mini games, the gumi ship missions, Lingering will and the data battles and critical mode made it the most challenging for me. I tend to go for easier plats as well if I bother at all. But KH has always been special to me so I try to play all the KH games. the only one I didnt was BBS because doing tedious things once is fine. But having to do them 3 times because the journals dont stack is a line I wont cross.
CTR: Nitro Fueled may have been my hardest one. Trying to make the shortcut in Sewer Speedway for 3 consecutive laps was torture! Oxide Station is not a piece of cake either, and Crash Cove has no business being as tough as it is. Then there is of course Dragon Mines..... *shudder*
I've actually uploaded every single one of my time trials to TH-cam. None of them are perfect runs and show that anyone can do them with perserverance, even the average gamer like me!
Congrats! That was a pain for me too. I didn't realise that it had to be 50 -different- skirmishes at first, so spent an age replaying the same ones again and again. The first Ni no Kuni was a nightmare at the end too.
Even though Dead Space 2 is an honorable mention for me, The Evil Within was easily my hardest platinum. Akumu mode broke me down to my lowest, but I did persevere and finished it for the platinum.
A shout out to Mr Freeze! Nice. And Rob mentioned Corridor Digital a couple weeks back. Something really satisfying about your favourite channels referencing each other. Like it's own little universe
For me, it was Battlefield: Bad Company 1. Damn those badges. And Chronicles of Riddick: Assualt on Dark Athena. This was the time of single player games having a tack on multiplayer and this game had not only a 10,000 kill trophy but a 1,000 wins trophy. So. Much. Grinding.
It's a toss up between two games for me. I got a platinum and all DLC trophies for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dragon Age: Inquisition. They were both very time inducing and their hardest difficulties and some of the basic trophies where maddening to get. Still worth it for me.
Devil May Cry 1 and 5. DMC1 DMD difficulty. DMC5 S Ranks on every mission, on every difficulty. And as a single-player game lover, any SP game that has MP trophies. They are more annoying than difficult but some can be hard. For example, Predator Paragon in Arkham Origins.
I have 500+ platinum trophies and these are the most difficult I've ever gotten so far that came to mind... Mortal Kombat 9 Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Devil May Cry Trilogy Street Fighter 4-5 The Evil Within Dead Space 2 Vanquish Metal Gear Rising Revengence and many more...
I couldn’t enjoy the combat in that game for the life of me, I loved Persona 5 so so so much, and the characters were 11/10, so I tricked strikers just to see them again, but I got so so bored I quit by the second jail
Got to be Cuphead for me, some of the bosses and run and guns made getting the platinum a gruelling experience at times but dear god was it satisfying to finally obtain it! Best of luck getting it for yourself Rosie!
@@ravenXcozmo That boss gave me a bit of trouble! depends which phase you're on but for the first phase I just stood at the edge of the train cart and used the Spread weapon to destroy it's projectiles whilst also inflicting damage against the boss. The trickiest part of that boss is having to parry the pink objects so the cart doesn't move and get you hit. Good luck!
I personally am very proud of my Final Fantasy X plat. Not only was the chocobo rider trophy an absolute bitch to get but it also required about 120 hours of game time, most of which was just farming fortune spheres... I still have PTSD when I hear "Earth Eater"
Hollow Knight without a doubt!! Finishing the pantheon of hallownest needed a ridiculous amount of practise but its also the plat I'm most proud of. It was such a masterpiece!!
I don't blame you. Getting the white rider trophy is a nightmare. Granted I did manage to plat shadow of Mordor and got that trophy but only because I got lucky and memorize a route where a bunch of slave can be rescued.
You remind me of GRID 2019 "Around the World" trophy where you have to drive a total distance equal to the circumference of the Earth (~40,000km). Insane grind! I had driven only ~3500km after completing every race in the game --some multiple times. It took me forever but I liked the game anyways.
@@randallbrown4540 50hrs for every trophy except level 100, which was an extra 70 hours of grinding on top. It takes about a quarter of that time now to grind xp since they patched it.
Not necessarily the platinum that took me the longest but it really tested my patience at how long would I go before smashing my controller, was No Straight Roads. Most recent hardest platinum.
After 179 different platinum, i can say that the most difficult ones are the 2 on which i gave up: guitar hero 5 (i got 505 stars trophy, but couldn't reach the 808 stars subsequent required) and mortal kombat vs dc universe (too many combos to unleash in the training mode). However among the games i platinum'ed, the first Uncharted is the first coming on my mind when thinking about hard times: the blue room on crushing was challenging at least. Nathan
OMG I have that plat and are you talking about the area where you are in the flooded room underground? That was a nightmare for me. I missed a weapon and was stuck with no way to go back and grab it. I had to beat that with the biggest garbage loadout. I honestly thought it would never happen.
I have no idea if it's fixed but there was an exploit that made that 5 win trophy easy, if you were about to lose just quit the game and it kept your streak.
@@NutInMyCrosshair Its fixed now, I was on a 4 winstreak and a disconnect glitch ruined it for me :( Everyone just started running infinitely forward and the game disconnected me a few seconds after
If you wait for the Sweet Thieves timed event to come back into rotation - that's normally the easiest way to get that trophy. Only one round that lasts 3 minutes so it's pretty grindable.
That's an easy one for me. I only have two platinums. One is for Dragon age origins that was probably the more difficult and the second is Ghost of tshushima
Did you ever play GTAIV? there was a multiplayer trophy to get to level 10 which doesn't sound hard but that's actually max level and you need billions of dollars to get there but only get a few thousand dollars from the very limited number of gamemodes there were
I got a platinum in every souls game, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Hollow Knight, and many other games. But tbh, my hardest platinum has been Enter the Gungeon. Truly a crazy game to platinum and I'm glad i managed to get it!
I've got the Crash trilogy plats but not even they can prepare you for the nightmare that is Crash Bandicoot 4. I lived and breathed that game during lockdown to earn that platinum. An honourable mention to a game called Blazing Chrome - that was an exceptionally tough platinum.
Of the 65 Platinum trophies I have so far the hardest ones I've gotten so far are Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag (F Ubisoft BTW), Sonic Generations, Batman Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legend, Bioshock 2 PS3 and Eat Lead the Return of Matt Hazard. Now I'm going for the Platinums for all of the Yakuza games so I'm not stopping anytime soon.
Like Rob, I only go for the easier platinums. So Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for me - the level design on that game, while fine for a normal playthrough, was a nightmare while going back for the various trophies. Very nearly broke my spirit!!
My easiest platinums were the Spyro Reignited trilogy and Conrete Genie. I don’t have the platinum for the extra VR missions since I don’t have a VR set-plus I wear glasses so I don’t really care to get one to only get like 3 or 4 trophies-especially since VR sets cost tons of money!
Just earned the platinum in Demon's Souls, my first souls game and proud to say I managed it without summoning help bar the two online trophies, did use online guides to cheese the hell out of some of the bosses on new game plus though!
When vikings attack. Its rated a 9/10 and the persistance trophy was such a pain to get. The degree of perfection u need to get every trophy including dlc was cruel.
yes for me , there many platinum very hardest i do made .. like 1 - Star ocean 4 on PS3, Killzone 2, MGS 2, Super Street Figher 4 , Dead or alive 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2& 3 and RE, Catherine PS3 version... and some one PS4, Bloodborne, Sekiro , Elden Ring, NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA 2&3.. Catherine PSvita & PS4 version Star ocean 5, etc.... now i get 169 platines totalt PS3,Psvita,PS4 & PS5
I'm with Rob. I won't go for a Platinum unless I can do it without frustration and stress. I play games as an escape from frustration and stress. I think the most difficult one I've gotten was getting the trophies for the Spider-Man DLC. Already had a Platinum for the main game, but I wanted to complete the set.
Hardest is probably Bloodborne (Defiled Watchdog, grrrrr), but the one that was hard but also really rewarding was Dishonored 2. I have strangely fond memories of doing Ghost and Clean Hands. And FF7 remake, I started the hard mode run just to see and to my surprise I actually got that platinum.
I am one trophy off from the platinum fir this game - upgrading the ship. I'm currently part way though the epilogue DLC and have been for over a year, so I think the plat is still a while off.
Rob is the reason why I'm actually going for the Hitman 3 platinum, otherwise I would have completely ignored it. I am having a great time discovering all the different ways you can kill targets
Robs hardest Platinums should probably be Crash Team Racing, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, because he has said he will get them, but they still elude him... (Im cheering for you Rob, I know you will go back and get them sometime!!!)
Hardest platinum trophy I earned would probably go to Witcher 3 mainly because of one thing; deathmarch mode. I was amazing and so satisfied when I completed it on deathmarch mode since that mode is really difficult to complete even if you know most of the game inside and out. I enjoyed and raged at the same time during deathmarch. Completing games on the hardest difficultly is usually a challenge but once you finish it you'll get some satisfaction afterwards.
w3 wasn't my hardest plat but I hit a really weird glitch in one of the last bosses. It's been a while since I played it and it was against the.. bad guy. where when you defeat him he teleports you to the bottom of the sea or something. When I was fighting him, one of his portals didn't vanish and more kept appearing on top of it, it caused extreme FPS drop and for whatever unknown reason, the boss just ended up standing completely still, throwing no attacks or anything. I got to just whittle him down for free. I really wish I had a recording of it. But honestly that's one of my favourite games I've played, it really was top notch
Out of the 111 platinums I've got over the last 13 years, I've got a few that I kind of count as equally tough in different ways: *Rock Band 2*: Most of the list is a breeze, but Bladder of Steel is extremely difficult - even playing on easy, because you cannot pause or stop for the entire setlist. And the setlist is like 6+ hours long. I'm glad they never brought it back (The one in Lego Rock Band is nowhere near as long). *Metal Gear Solid 2*: Again, a fairly straightforward list with the exception of 1 or 2 trophies. Mainly completing all of the VR missions - all 300+ of them. Having done them on PS2 before, I at least had a decent groundwork/starting place, but it's still just SO MUCH. *Devil May Cry 3*: Bloody Palace, mostly. No saving, and the encounters get harder and harder the further into the Palace you get. Thankfully you don't need to do all 9,999 floors individually, and getting the Super costumes helps a ton as well. *Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance*: This one's probably the most taxing overall as far as what it asks (I actually helped write the main trophy guide over on PSNProfiles). S rank the game on the highest difficulty. Get the highest score on all 20 of the VR missions. Beat every boss without taking damage. *Amplitude 2016*: This one requires the most actual skill out of the player. (Again, I wrote the PSNP trophy guide for it) No exploits or anything to make things easier - you just need to practice and learn the game.
I have a quite few difficult plats from FF7 Remake & The Entire Arkham Series but I'd say the hardest plat I have in my collection has to be Fall Guys.
@@horacionivar2869 easy af I platniumed asylum and city each on 3 days and origins took about a week cuz I had irl work to do and knight took a month just because I left the new game+ trophy for a bit then went back to it (all the other trophies I did in about 4 days give or take)
I'm like Rob. I don't do difficult platinums. Like, there might be one or two challenging trophies in all the games I've gotten the plat for, but that's it.
The one that was the hardest for me personally was Sekiro. No matter how much I tried, I just didn't have the reflexes to be able to play it the intended way but I found my own way to get through it
I'm with Rob. I don't really have any hard plats, but the one that gave me the most trouble was the PS3 version of Skyrim. I've platted it on PS4 too (and likely will eventually on PS5 as well), but the Oblivion Walker trophy was SO BUGGY on the original console version that it failed to pop on multiple playthroughs. I had my PS4 for like two years before I managed to get the thing to work. Good times.
I got the platinum trophy for The Witness today and it involved me having to use the camera and stopwatch on my phone flicking between them to take a photo of the screen and accidentally dropping it on the floor. You have to remember puzzles and complete 14 randomised puzzles before the song hall of the mountain king ends and it drove me insane so I had to mute it
Dragon Age Inquisition. Purely because it took me 5 years to get the courage to finish the game on Nightmare! Had to become a more "seasoned" gamer to get through the first couple of hours on Nightmare.
We've talked about this a good bit on our channel and I have to say my hardest was either Fight Round Round 4 or Max Payne 3, for very different reasons. Don't know what Dan would say his hardest platinum is, but I'm super jealous of his Gran Turismo 5 and Wolfenstein 2 platinums... - Nate
I gave up on Max Payne 3, I managed New York Minute but New York Minute hardcore was crazy and I'd finally had enough when the guy you escort through the offices had a grenade roll to his feet...
Happy to see you guys have a team of gaming friends, i have 131 platinums and i believe the hardest i have is warface platinum which is 0.1 also Bloodborne is my favorite game and i believe i can platinum it in 1 day or even less
My most difficult Platinums are Crash 1, Crash Team Racing (including developer time trials), Shadowman Remastered and the Resident Evil games. I'm about to Platinum Gran Turismo 7 and I found it hard. Big congrats to everyone who achieved those hard platinums, the struggle is real!
Middleearth: Shadow of war has been my toughest one just because I did the final act before they nerfed it. It is the most memorable one as well simply due to the fact that I had to single-handedly face the entire army as I did n't want to risk losing my lieutenants, it was just epic!
Just like Rob, I prefer getting easy or do-able platinums so I guess the "hardest" I've gotten are The Witness (though admitedly, I cheated a bit), Yooka Laylee and Assassins Creed Origins
Rooob, I love that you love Hitman so much. I actually started on PS4 with Hitman 1 after leaving it for YEARS cause I played the demo and I didnt like it. And then I played it and then H2 and then was soooo looking forward to H3 🤩 I loved all of them. And it was also my first interaction with you 😂 The Manor map and the secret kissing couple photo. I had fun in that stream. And Im sad that H3 will autopop, cause as you say, getting the achievements is just the core fun of the game. So I'm sad I can't plat it again with the PS5 version 😔
The rarest platinum I have is Knowledge Is Power at 0.1% I only have 11, and like Rob, mine were mostly easy. The most effort I put into one trophy was Final Fantasy XV. That adamantoise fight took me 2 1/2 hours.
Mine was probably Crash Bandicoot 2. I remember the last relic I needed was for Spaced Out. I kept failing over and over and then when I thought I had it, it turns out I was a fraction of a second off. I could have cried. But eventually got it!! However, if I ever get the plat for The Witness then that will shoot straight to the top. All I need to do is solve the final batch of puzzles.... If you know you know.
My hardest platinum trophy was Rayman Legends. You had to be insane. One trophy especially was a massive grind too. The level Rosie is referring to on Crash 2 is Hangin' Out. That level single handedly made Crash 2 a close 2nd in terms of hardest platinum!

My hardest platinum was without a doubt DMC 5. At 198 hours definitely not the longest platinum, but S-ranking mission 10 and 18 on DMD and HaH just takes the cake for me.
Got the hollow knight and cuphead plats, hollow knight was so difficult! Don't think I'll ever lose the muscle memory of beating like the first 20 bosses in the pantheon haha hollow knight is also my partners least favourite game, despite never playing it, because she seen me run the pantheon so much lol great video as always!
I was going to say my hardest plat was cuphead... then I remembered that damn chocobo catcher race in ffx remastered... I can still hear the impact sound of bird on chocobo that means I have failed the run. Post traumatic gaming syndrome is definitely a thing.
For me it's a toss up between DOOM(2016), Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories, and Styx: Master of Shadows. DOOM really wasn't too bad, the toughest part was completing all the stage missions as there were a few that required some extremely precise positioning and I had to do them over and over until I finally completed them. The Ultra Nightmare Mode wasn't actually all that tough and I beat the first level on my first try. Luckily, You don't need to finish the game on that mode Melody of Memories worst part was the grind. I played through the whole game on the hardest difficulty because the easier difficulties were too slow, but then when I beat the game I discovered that beating the levels on hard didn't pop the achievement for completing them on lower difficulties, so I had to go through the 143 songs 2 more times. Even after having done that, I still hadn't played the game for long enough to pop that trophy, so I had to keep playing for a few more hours. That, along with completing the hardest song in the game on the hardest difficulty without failing made this one pretty tough. Finally, Styx was difficult because you have to perfect every level to get the platinum. You have to get through each level without killing a single person, without being seen, while collecting all 10 coins on each map and doing the level in a short amount of time. I decided that I didn't want to play each level dozens of times, so I did two run-throughs of every level. My first run, I would do without being seen, without killing and while collecting all the coins. Then, I would replay the level and speedrun it. The first run through usually took 1.5-2 hours for each map, while the second run would take about 10 minutes total. I really liked this game and I'm glad that I got the platinum, but man was it difficult. Though, if we're talking about the real hardest Platinum, it would be Arkham Asylum, because I didn't get it. Getting Gold on all the special missions just wasn't worth the time and effort I would need to put in. 2-3 hours after starting them and only getting the gold on the first 4 wasn't worth it to me anymore.
Doom 2016 plat is manageable. Hell so is doom eternal so to speak. Arkham asylum for the PS3 was the first plat I ever earned. With enough practice with the combos and predator strategies in the challenges it's doable. Personally Arkham origins and knight to me are harder to platinum more than asylum. Imo at least.
@@shadowlinkbds I fully believe I, and anyone, can get any trophy, it's all about time investment. I just don't care enough about getting trophies to grind on the arkham missions, but there's nothing wrong with people that do
Crash 2 takes the titles of my first platinum, my most difficult platinum and my proudest platinum! It was stressful, but I genuinely enjoyed the challenge of learning the levels. I'm pretty proud of the FF7R one too though. I don't tend to go for platinums that mean I have to play on harder difficulties, but I just loved the game too much to give up and it turned out changing up my usual play style was actually still a fun experience!
i'm not the kind of person who tries for platinums but i AM the kind of person who likes to do all the side quests for rpgs so i decided to go for the platinum for horizon zero dawn since i was already pretty close after my first playthrough and that was pretty difficult just because if i remember correctly getting the new game + trophies requires you to beat the game on ultra hard mode, which is the most doable if you have already completed the game on regular and then ng+ hard mode so you've leveled up all your weapons a bunch. so anyway, it required a LOT of game time and i'm also the kind of person who sticks to normal difficulty so doing something on ultra hard mode was insane for me. but i got it eventually! i absolutely did not get the platinum for the frozen wilds, though. ikrie's challenge was outrageously difficult for me so i gave up lol.
Hard to pick just one when you have Evil Within, Dead Space 2, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Ys Origin. Also Arkham Knight Community challenges were really demanding.

I had about FIVE MONTHS between my second-to-last and final trophies. My last trophy was The Real Deal (MVP 3x in PvP). I was stuck at two MVPs and just had to take a break. Ironically, that trophy is only the 11th rarest trophy in RDR2.
Getting the Platinum Trophy for the Witness is one of my proudest gaming moments.

Hell yeah MrFreeze! Every time a new Hitman came out I was watching him for tips, he's a fantastic youtuber - sometimes I'd just have his videos on at the same time I was playing the game and mirror all his moves.
Near a thousand hours in Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the platinum. Luck based and frequent game crashes made it so much more difficult.
Vanquish, the skills required to beat the trials were brutal.

Uncharted 1 is difficult. Crushing is just brutal
Most difficult platinum was Overwatch for me, played the game since launch, I spent days maining Lucio just to try to get the floor is lava, then you got rapid discord that's mostly luck, then you have the path is closed and mine sweeper which is impossible unless the other team is playing a certain character. I gave up because nobody was playing sym so I couldn't get the sym trophy of destroying 3 teleporters but I got the inspiration back once I randomly got it one match and realized I was only 2 trophies away from the plat

A friend of mine has that one. It took him a couple of years to finally platinum it too. I try to get trophies here and there but I’m so burnt out from the game idk if I’ll ever try to go for it lol

I am at 79 plats so far- so many hard in different ways- There's the From Soft plat achievements- elden ring, sekiro, demons souls, bloodborne.. The I did it plats.
Crash bandicoot was a challenge, so too was uncharted and bioshock series (though i loved getting it). Things like Cyberpunk, fallout 4 and valhalla take ages. BUT possibly the hardest plat I've got could be Battlefront 2. That was a huge moment and very challenging.

Final fantasy X. Lost my sanity trying to get the chocobo race under 0 seconds and dodge 200 lightning bolts. Also filling the sphere grid was so time consuming. Worth it.

Hardest plat for me was KH2 final mix on ps3. The combination of the mini games, the gumi ship missions, Lingering will and the data battles and critical mode made it the most challenging for me. I tend to go for easier plats as well if I bother at all. But KH has always been special to me so I try to play all the KH games. the only one I didnt was BBS because doing tedious things once is fine. But having to do them 3 times because the journals dont stack is a line I wont cross.
CTR: Nitro Fueled may have been my hardest one. Trying to make the shortcut in Sewer Speedway for 3 consecutive laps was torture! Oxide Station is not a piece of cake either, and Crash Cove has no business being as tough as it is. Then there is of course Dragon Mines..... *shudder*

I've actually uploaded every single one of my time trials to TH-cam. None of them are perfect runs and show that anyone can do them with perserverance, even the average gamer like me!

Just got Ni No Kuni 2 platinum last night, trying to get the 50 skirmishes was so much effort!!
Congrats! That was a pain for me too. I didn't realise that it had to be 50 -different- skirmishes at first, so spent an age replaying the same ones again and again. The first Ni no Kuni was a nightmare at the end too.
My last trophy was awakening 50 times. Really enjoyed the game but the DLC had such a huge difficulty spike I gave up partway through.
Even though Dead Space 2 is an honorable mention for me, The Evil Within was easily my hardest platinum. Akumu mode broke me down to my lowest, but I did persevere and finished it for the platinum.

And Chronicles of Riddick: Assualt on Dark Athena. This was the time of single player games having a tack on multiplayer and this game had not only a 10,000 kill trophy but a 1,000 wins trophy. So. Much. Grinding.
My hardest and rarest plat is without a doubt, Overwatch. Some trophies required giving up your very soul to get.

It's a toss up between two games for me. I got a platinum and all DLC trophies for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Dragon Age: Inquisition. They were both very time inducing and their hardest difficulties and some of the basic trophies where maddening to get. Still worth it for me.
Devil May Cry 1 and 5. DMC1 DMD difficulty. DMC5 S Ranks on every mission, on every difficulty. And as a single-player game lover, any SP game that has MP trophies. They are more annoying than difficult but some can be hard. For example, Predator Paragon in Arkham Origins.
Wipeout HD, no question. “Zone Zeus”, “Arcade Perfect” and “Beat Zico” were insanely challenging, and the online race skin trophy had to be pure luck!

@@ravenXcozmo That boss gave me a bit of trouble! depends which phase you're on but for the first phase I just stood at the edge of the train cart and used the Spread weapon to destroy it's projectiles whilst also inflicting damage against the boss. The trickiest part of that boss is having to parry the pink objects so the cart doesn't move and get you hit. Good luck!

I personally am very proud of my Final Fantasy X plat. Not only was the chocobo rider trophy an absolute bitch to get but it also required about 120 hours of game time, most of which was just farming fortune spheres... I still have PTSD when I hear "Earth Eater"

I don't blame you. Getting the white rider trophy is a nightmare. Granted I did manage to plat shadow of Mordor and got that trophy but only because I got lucky and memorize a route where a bunch of slave can be rescued.
My hardest platinum was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. Some of those challenges are brutal. Not to mention the grind to level 100.
You remind me of GRID 2019 "Around the World" trophy where you have to drive a total distance equal to the circumference of the Earth (~40,000km). Insane grind! I had driven only ~3500km after completing every race in the game --some multiple times. It took me forever but I liked the game anyways.

@@randallbrown4540 50hrs for every trophy except level 100, which was an extra 70 hours of grinding on top. It takes about a quarter of that time now to grind xp since they patched it.

Wolfenstein: The New Order. Trying to finish the game on Uber difficulty. The final boss was such a pain. Felt so proud when I got the Platinum 😎
After 179 different platinum, i can say that the most difficult ones are the 2 on which i gave up: guitar hero 5 (i got 505 stars trophy, but couldn't reach the 808 stars subsequent required) and mortal kombat vs dc universe (too many combos to unleash in the training mode).
However among the games i platinum'ed, the first Uncharted is the first coming on my mind when thinking about hard times: the blue room on crushing was challenging at least.

OMG I have that plat and are you talking about the area where you are in the flooded room underground? That was a nightmare for me. I missed a weapon and was stuck with no way to go back and grab it. I had to beat that with the biggest garbage loadout. I honestly thought it would never happen.

Probably the one that was the hardest for me was Fall Guys. Having to win five games in a row is quite the challenge, no matter how skilled you are.
I have no idea if it's fixed but there was an exploit that made that 5 win trophy easy, if you were about to lose just quit the game and it kept your streak.

If you wait for the Sweet Thieves timed event to come back into rotation - that's normally the easiest way to get that trophy. Only one round that lasts 3 minutes so it's pretty grindable.
That's an easy one for me. I only have two platinums. One is for Dragon age origins that was probably the more difficult and the second is Ghost of tshushima
I’d have to say my hardest platinum was GTA V. What almost got me was how many times I had to replay levels to get gold ranking.
Did you ever play GTAIV? there was a multiplayer trophy to get to level 10 which doesn't sound hard but that's actually max level and you need billions of dollars to get there but only get a few thousand dollars from the very limited number of gamemodes there were

I got a platinum in every souls game, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Hollow Knight, and many other games. But tbh, my hardest platinum has been Enter the Gungeon. Truly a crazy game to platinum and I'm glad i managed to get it!

I've got the Crash trilogy plats but not even they can prepare you for the nightmare that is Crash Bandicoot 4. I lived and breathed that game during lockdown to earn that platinum. An honourable mention to a game called Blazing Chrome - that was an exceptionally tough platinum.
Of the 65 Platinum trophies I have so far the hardest ones I've gotten so far are Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag (F Ubisoft BTW), Sonic Generations, Batman Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legend, Bioshock 2 PS3 and Eat Lead the Return of Matt Hazard. Now I'm going for the Platinums for all of the Yakuza games so I'm not stopping anytime soon.
Like Rob, I only go for the easier platinums. So Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for me - the level design on that game, while fine for a normal playthrough, was a nightmare while going back for the various trophies. Very nearly broke my spirit!!
My easiest platinums were the Spyro Reignited trilogy and Conrete Genie. I don’t have the platinum for the extra VR missions since I don’t have a VR set-plus I wear glasses so I don’t really care to get one to only get like 3 or 4 trophies-especially since VR sets cost tons of money!
Battlefront 2 was such a grind and the starfighter trophies were so irritating
Just earned the platinum in Demon's Souls, my first souls game and proud to say I managed it without summoning help bar the two online trophies, did use online guides to cheese the hell out of some of the bosses on new game plus though!
When vikings attack. Its rated a 9/10 and the persistance trophy was such a pain to get. The degree of perfection u need to get every trophy including dlc was cruel.
Overwatch platinum, the Rapid Discord trophy is so difficult! The Kingdom hearts platinum is a grindfest as well!
yes for me , there many platinum very hardest i do made .. like 1 - Star ocean 4 on PS3, Killzone 2, MGS 2, Super Street Figher 4 , Dead or alive 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2& 3 and RE, Catherine PS3 version... and some one PS4, Bloodborne, Sekiro , Elden Ring, NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA 2&3.. Catherine PSvita & PS4 version Star ocean 5, etc.... now i get 169 platines totalt PS3,Psvita,PS4 & PS5
I'm with Rob. I won't go for a Platinum unless I can do it without frustration and stress. I play games as an escape from frustration and stress. I think the most difficult one I've gotten was getting the trophies for the Spider-Man DLC. Already had a Platinum for the main game, but I wanted to complete the set.
Hardest is probably Bloodborne (Defiled Watchdog, grrrrr), but the one that was hard but also really rewarding was Dishonored 2. I have strangely fond memories of doing Ghost and Clean Hands. And FF7 remake, I started the hard mode run just to see and to my surprise I actually got that platinum.
For mine I'd have to say Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Not so much for the difficulty but just for the grind. Had to stay motivated through 154 hours.
I am one trophy off from the platinum fir this game - upgrading the ship. I'm currently part way though the epilogue DLC and have been for over a year, so I think the plat is still a while off.

Robs hardest Platinums should probably be Crash Team Racing, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, because he has said he will get them, but they still elude him... (Im cheering for you Rob, I know you will go back and get them sometime!!!)
Hardest platinum trophy I earned would probably go to Witcher 3 mainly because of one thing; deathmarch mode. I was amazing and so satisfied when I completed it on deathmarch mode since that mode is really difficult to complete even if you know most of the game inside and out. I enjoyed and raged at the same time during deathmarch. Completing games on the hardest difficultly is usually a challenge but once you finish it you'll get some satisfaction afterwards.

w3 wasn't my hardest plat but I hit a really weird glitch in one of the last bosses.
It's been a while since I played it and it was against the.. bad guy. where when you defeat him he teleports you to the bottom of the sea or something.
When I was fighting him, one of his portals didn't vanish and more kept appearing on top of it, it caused extreme FPS drop and for whatever unknown reason, the boss just ended up standing completely still, throwing no attacks or anything. I got to just whittle him down for free.
I really wish I had a recording of it. But honestly that's one of my favourite games I've played, it really was top notch

I platinumed Rise Of The Tomb Raider and Shadow I thought they were both Brilliant games, can't wait for the other game releasing!
Out of the 111 platinums I've got over the last 13 years, I've got a few that I kind of count as equally tough in different ways:
*Rock Band 2*: Most of the list is a breeze, but Bladder of Steel is extremely difficult - even playing on easy, because you cannot pause or stop for the entire setlist. And the setlist is like 6+ hours long. I'm glad they never brought it back (The one in Lego Rock Band is nowhere near as long).
*Metal Gear Solid 2*: Again, a fairly straightforward list with the exception of 1 or 2 trophies. Mainly completing all of the VR missions - all 300+ of them. Having done them on PS2 before, I at least had a decent groundwork/starting place, but it's still just SO MUCH.
*Devil May Cry 3*: Bloody Palace, mostly. No saving, and the encounters get harder and harder the further into the Palace you get. Thankfully you don't need to do all 9,999 floors individually, and getting the Super costumes helps a ton as well.
*Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance*: This one's probably the most taxing overall as far as what it asks (I actually helped write the main trophy guide over on PSNProfiles). S rank the game on the highest difficulty. Get the highest score on all 20 of the VR missions. Beat every boss without taking damage.
*Amplitude 2016*: This one requires the most actual skill out of the player. (Again, I wrote the PSNP trophy guide for it) No exploits or anything to make things easier - you just need to practice and learn the game.
I have a quite few difficult plats from FF7 Remake & The Entire Arkham Series but I'd say the hardest plat I have in my collection has to be Fall Guys.

I'm like Rob. I don't do difficult platinums. Like, there might be one or two challenging trophies in all the games I've gotten the plat for, but that's it.
Hardest platinum for me would be either CTR: Nitro Fueled or, my most recent one (I only got it yesterday), Gran Turismo 7.
Cuphead is probably my hardest. I also had a hell of a time with THPS Remake.

The one that was the hardest for me personally was Sekiro. No matter how much I tried, I just didn't have the reflexes to be able to play it the intended way but I found my own way to get through it

I'm with Rob. I don't really have any hard plats, but the one that gave me the most trouble was the PS3 version of Skyrim. I've platted it on PS4 too (and likely will eventually on PS5 as well), but the Oblivion Walker trophy was SO BUGGY on the original console version that it failed to pop on multiple playthroughs. I had my PS4 for like two years before I managed to get the thing to work. Good times.
I got the platinum trophy for The Witness today and it involved me having to use the camera and stopwatch on my phone flicking between them to take a photo of the screen and accidentally dropping it on the floor. You have to remember puzzles and complete 14 randomised puzzles before the song hall of the mountain king ends and it drove me insane so I had to mute it
Dragon Age Inquisition. Purely because it took me 5 years to get the courage to finish the game on Nightmare! Had to become a more "seasoned" gamer to get through the first couple of hours on Nightmare.
We've talked about this a good bit on our channel and I have to say my hardest was either Fight Round Round 4 or Max Payne 3, for very different reasons. Don't know what Dan would say his hardest platinum is, but I'm super jealous of his Gran Turismo 5 and Wolfenstein 2 platinums... - Nate

Happy to see you guys have a team of gaming friends, i have 131 platinums and i believe the hardest i have is warface platinum which is 0.1 also Bloodborne is my favorite game and i believe i can platinum it in 1 day or even less
My most difficult Platinums are Crash 1, Crash Team Racing (including developer time trials), Shadowman Remastered and the Resident Evil games. I'm about to Platinum Gran Turismo 7 and I found it hard. Big congrats to everyone who achieved those hard platinums, the struggle is real!
Middleearth: Shadow of war has been my toughest one just because I did the final act before they nerfed it. It is the most memorable one as well simply due to the fact that I had to single-handedly face the entire army as I did n't want to risk losing my lieutenants, it was just epic!
Just unlocked the plat in GT7... the S licences getting gold... that took some beating... and a fair bit of time too

Rooob, I love that you love Hitman so much. I actually started on PS4 with Hitman 1 after leaving it for YEARS cause I played the demo and I didnt like it.
And then I played it and then H2 and then was soooo looking forward to H3 🤩 I loved all of them.
And it was also my first interaction with you 😂 The Manor map and the secret kissing couple photo. I had fun in that stream.
And Im sad that H3 will autopop, cause as you say, getting the achievements is just the core fun of the game. So I'm sad I can't plat it again with the PS5 version 😔

The rarest platinum I have is Knowledge Is Power at 0.1% I only have 11, and like Rob, mine were mostly easy. The most effort I put into one trophy was Final Fantasy XV. That adamantoise fight took me 2 1/2 hours.
Congratulations. I assume you didn't know about the Ring which would just dematerialise the Adamantoise after about 20-30 minutes?
Mine was probably Crash Bandicoot 2. I remember the last relic I needed was for Spaced Out. I kept failing over and over and then when I thought I had it, it turns out I was a fraction of a second off. I could have cried. But eventually got it!!
However, if I ever get the plat for The Witness then that will shoot straight to the top. All I need to do is solve the final batch of puzzles.... If you know you know.
Mine had to be Hollow Knight. That last pantheon cost me 40 hours of my life.

The level Rosie is referring to on Crash 2 is Hangin' Out. That level single handedly made Crash 2 a close 2nd in terms of hardest platinum!
The most difficult in terms of gameplay was probably Sekiro but In terms of a time commitment it has to be Final Fantasy X. That platinum was brutal.

My hardest platinum was without a doubt DMC 5. At 198 hours definitely not the longest platinum, but S-ranking mission 10 and 18 on DMD and HaH just takes the cake for me.
Got the hollow knight and cuphead plats, hollow knight was so difficult! Don't think I'll ever lose the muscle memory of beating like the first 20 bosses in the pantheon haha hollow knight is also my partners least favourite game, despite never playing it, because she seen me run the pantheon so much lol great video as always!

I was going to say my hardest plat was cuphead... then I remembered that damn chocobo catcher race in ffx remastered... I can still hear the impact sound of bird on chocobo that means I have failed the run. Post traumatic gaming syndrome is definitely a thing.
For me it's a toss up between DOOM(2016), Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories, and Styx: Master of Shadows.
DOOM really wasn't too bad, the toughest part was completing all the stage missions as there were a few that required some extremely precise positioning and I had to do them over and over until I finally completed them. The Ultra Nightmare Mode wasn't actually all that tough and I beat the first level on my first try. Luckily, You don't need to finish the game on that mode
Melody of Memories worst part was the grind. I played through the whole game on the hardest difficulty because the easier difficulties were too slow, but then when I beat the game I discovered that beating the levels on hard didn't pop the achievement for completing them on lower difficulties, so I had to go through the 143 songs 2 more times. Even after having done that, I still hadn't played the game for long enough to pop that trophy, so I had to keep playing for a few more hours. That, along with completing the hardest song in the game on the hardest difficulty without failing made this one pretty tough.
Finally, Styx was difficult because you have to perfect every level to get the platinum. You have to get through each level without killing a single person, without being seen, while collecting all 10 coins on each map and doing the level in a short amount of time. I decided that I didn't want to play each level dozens of times, so I did two run-throughs of every level. My first run, I would do without being seen, without killing and while collecting all the coins. Then, I would replay the level and speedrun it. The first run through usually took 1.5-2 hours for each map, while the second run would take about 10 minutes total. I really liked this game and I'm glad that I got the platinum, but man was it difficult.
Though, if we're talking about the real hardest Platinum, it would be Arkham Asylum, because I didn't get it. Getting Gold on all the special missions just wasn't worth the time and effort I would need to put in. 2-3 hours after starting them and only getting the gold on the first 4 wasn't worth it to me anymore.
Tbh I don't find doom 2016 platinum that hard the annoying part was having to create my own map and submit it
Doom 2016 plat is manageable. Hell so is doom eternal so to speak. Arkham asylum for the PS3 was the first plat I ever earned. With enough practice with the combos and predator strategies in the challenges it's doable. Personally Arkham origins and knight to me are harder to platinum more than asylum. Imo at least.
@@shadowlinkbds I fully believe I, and anyone, can get any trophy, it's all about time investment. I just don't care enough about getting trophies to grind on the arkham missions, but there's nothing wrong with people that do

Crash 2 takes the titles of my first platinum, my most difficult platinum and my proudest platinum! It was stressful, but I genuinely enjoyed the challenge of learning the levels.
I'm pretty proud of the FF7R one too though. I don't tend to go for platinums that mean I have to play on harder difficulties, but I just loved the game too much to give up and it turned out changing up my usual play style was actually still a fun experience!
For me it was Silent Hill 2 and The Evil Within. I can't decide which one was harder. Both are well deserved 9/10.
i'm not the kind of person who tries for platinums but i AM the kind of person who likes to do all the side quests for rpgs so i decided to go for the platinum for horizon zero dawn since i was already pretty close after my first playthrough and that was pretty difficult just because if i remember correctly getting the new game + trophies requires you to beat the game on ultra hard mode, which is the most doable if you have already completed the game on regular and then ng+ hard mode so you've leveled up all your weapons a bunch. so anyway, it required a LOT of game time and i'm also the kind of person who sticks to normal difficulty so doing something on ultra hard mode was insane for me. but i got it eventually! i absolutely did not get the platinum for the frozen wilds, though. ikrie's challenge was outrageously difficult for me so i gave up lol.
Hard to pick just one when you have Evil Within, Dead Space 2, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Ys Origin. Also Arkham Knight Community challenges were really demanding.
