I love their clean racing and respect the skill. But why are they driving in the "casual TV Camera view"?. Sim racing should be a simulation of the real, so why no cockpit view like any other Simracing series? It´s also much easier in this view. With the real cockpit view you need a other estimation for distance, space or apex. Would be interesting to know!
100% agee with you but unfortunately they don't have any competitions that are cockpit only. And someone using TV view will always have an advantage so why wouldn't you if those are the rules..

Christian Hegener As another commenter said, they do three races in one night so 100% races would take quite a long time. But 2 50% races would be nice.
@@yammmit I'd be okay with one race a week or two at 100% distance with a full qualifying. It would be nice to see the esports start midway through the real f1 season and carry through the winter break and have the grand final at the first real-life race of the new season to mark the handoff from esports to real sports. Maybe do it on Thursday and have a little after-party with all the esports drivers and real-life drivers. It would be good for f1s branding and marketing because it would make some part of the sport always available.

rasmussen setting fastest lap on the last lap in a field soo unbelievably quick is the most scary part :/
It is quite normal, that you set the fstest lap in the last lap especially if you are driving in front and have enough fuel and ers to push.
7:17-7:19 plus 7:20-7:25 I feel like he had enough speed and skill to dive right through that gape coming into turn 1 but would that have been a penalty because he may have endangered the car coming out the pits?or would that be considered coming into the pit lane? Like… the opposite of them crossing the line before exiting the pitlane ?Because the guy went defensive but he left a little gap that could have been shot if he had the balls to do it.

At the beginning of the video, you say "The full race at Suzuka" however the race is only 13 laps.
Are any of these drivers the same ones JD usually races in his leagues? If so can someone do a rundown of who is who. I only know them by their PSN ID.

Why are you overfueling car
This is just proof that Codemasters is so fucking lazy they didn't bother to scale the tire life to the race distance. Soft Tires should not last 12 laps in a 25% race, that's the equivalent of softs lasting 48 laps in a real race which is nonsense.
Please have more energy as you usually do. The start of the video was boring. I expected the vibrant “3 lights, 4 lights, 5 lights, as we try to get a good start!!!!!”

Awsome drive. BUT. "e" and "sports" should be removed from "e-sports". This looks to me more like using the exploit(s) of the game and then playing "Guitar Hero" with the wheel perfectly for ~20min. Sad to see the game (at this point I'll stop calling it sim or simcade, that's how disappointed am I) and rules allow for this kind of "racing". Don't remember if it was iRacing or Raceroom but I was much more engaged and even though the race was 1h40min I was enjoying every minute of it because there were multiple strategies drivers took and so with pit stops there were overtaking almost every lap and it was really like I was watching "the real thing". And that wasn't even IRL event. F1 should look at the competition how to organize e-sports events.

Hopefully they Race 50% next year. They could Race 2 50% races per Event, That would propably be better for both the drivers and the viewers

How does he change ERS modes so fast? Goes from 5 to 0 almost instantly.

@@emilsgs6185 That's what I meant to ask. It seems like it's gotta be a spinning wheel because even if you have the increase or decrease button bound to a specific button, you can't press it as fast as in the video. However, the Fanatec CSL elite (wheel used for F1 esports) does not have a spinning wheel, just buttons. So that's why I'm confused.
@@Mazotheman I think I figured out an efficient way to bind things! (for the CSL Elite) Start with:
Triangle - Fuel Decrease
Circle - Fuel Increase
L2 - ERS Decrease
L3 - ERS Increase
Then comes a little trick to allow you to change ERS modes super fast. Bind MFD Left to L2 and MFD Right to L3. Now L2 and L3 are double bound to both ERS Increase/Decrease and MFD Right/Left. This allows you to fly through ERS modes 2 at a time, and if you press the button rapidly it will still let you to get it into mode 3 (Thought this might be impossible since it wants to change modes 2 at a time). Also it won't accidentally change fuel modes if you were to press L2 while fuel is highlighted, it will first switch to the ERS bar and THEN register Right MFD. Play around with it for a little bit and see for yourself.

I have the thrustmaster t500 with tje ferrari f1 wheel. I use the little "wheels" on the left and right of the steering wheel for ers and fuel. I can change it this quickly.

Is it normal for players to use the pod view? It just seems anti-climactic, even if your view is better, than to get the most genuine point of view. Is there another advantage to pod view, say maybe it's easier to learn the track's best racing line? You all are incredible! The consistency, the speed, the careful, safe driving. How many years of playing does this take? When I first began playing F1 I thought compared to other games, it seemed so easy, but with each new step of learning I realize there's so much more I don't understand whatsoever. I wish Codemasters had more tutorials to learn and feel other nuances to learn what settings in the garage can do. It's a major hindrance not feeling a real car.
Well with the T-cam you can see much better when somebody's about to overtake.
You could say to use your mirrors but those are insanely small on a screen.
Most F1, F2 and F3 drivers are actually using the T-cam as well when you look at their online races of the last month.

omg...pushing buttons like on playstation....modern F1 drivers would shit themself while driving 1500hp 80s F1 with turbos from fkin tank or where they got them.
As boring as a real F1 race but easier in your armchair at home without the stress the risk or the heat !
