I'm 52 and just got the "discover by motorcycle" bug and have had my KTM 390 Adventure just over two weeks. I will have to work hard to find places in Oregon half as stunning as Moab, but I know they're out there!
Great video - I subscribed. Moab is fantastic and provides memorable rides for any bike type. I’m not much of a camper; however, your setup looked better than some hotels. The ride to Gemini Bridges looked much rougher than when I did it last year.
Thank you for watching and subscribing! We do a ton of camping so we like to be comfortable, plus I am getting older, and crawling off the ground gets harder each year. haha. It was a little rough going to Gemini. I guess the trails change all of the time depending on climate. Thanks again for watching.
It's encouraging to see young (at heart) lads out Adventuring. At 71 and being afflicted with the wanderlust, I'm wondering if I'm 'crazy' to be pondering learning to ride a motorcycle to explore (rather than just sitting and waiting to die )? I came across your video, Searching "390 Adventure". The KTM 390 seems like the lightest 'Adventure' bike with enough torque to not require outrageous rpm's when highway travel is needed.
Thank you for taking the time to watch our channel. The little KTM has been a fantastic machine and great for the Dual Sport adventures that I like to do. I am 58 and I am not going to die sitting on a couch. Get up and get out is what I amlways say!
Great video. Rode a bunch of that on the 1190...looking forward to going back with the 500 next time. Curious as to how you record your Sena intercom chatter?
Thank you for watching the video. I use the 50C Sena which has a built-in camera. It takes the audio right from the intercom while recording. It is one of the reasons, I like that solution for videos.
Hi Jerry, new subscriber, you appeared on my recommended lists, must be the KTM 390 connection. Was your riding footage/commentary on this one from your recent Sena 50C purchase? Does that record your discussion and visuals to the one MP4 file? Amazed at the lack of wind noise. Have been using the Sena Tube for years, but they are getting difficult to obtain now
Hey there, Thank you for reaching out. Yes, the video was created using the new Sena. We are very happy with it so far. It does record voice and video in one file. It really makes it easy to edit. I have the mic behind the lower piece of my full-faced helmet and it works well for keeping the wind noise in control. Have a great week and thank you for subscribing!
Hello. So I have a KTM 1090R Adventure and I rode in Moab in March 2019(Thanks Dirt Circus). At 55, I'm finding the 1090R too heavy for my health conditions. I'm looking at the 390 Adventure as a substitute. If you've ridden the larger bikes, do you miss all the HP, the higher level accoutrements? It looks and feels like the 390 would be a good fit for me. Your thoughts? PS, I'm an explorer not a single track ripper.
Hey there! I currently have a Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT SE sport touring machine to go along with the 390 KTM. I do not miss the HP off-road as the KTM provides plenty of punch for the roads and trails I like exploring. I do not do any single track and so far the KTM has tackled everything I have thrown at it. It has done parts of the NM BDR and several off-road challenges here in Arkansas. I have placed 4000 miles on my KTM and would have no issue doing a multi day trip on her, as long as I could do it on the backroads. The KTM will do 80+ but as you can imagine it is not the best tool for being a true touring machine. I love the KTM and I have to say it is easier to pick up than those larger DS machines. Thanks for watching the channel. Let me know if you go the KTM route. Have a great holiday season.
Hello. Yes, all of this has been done on the stock wheels. I also had this concern when looking at the 390, however watching some hardcore riders beat the crap out of their 390's in India on stock wheels made me realize that my type of off-road riding would never come close to the abuse, that those wheels handled with no issue. Have a great holiday season and enjoy your day. Ride Safe!
Awesome ride and scenery. I'll get out there someday on my 390.
Thanks for watching it was a blast

Great video! Can you tell me what communication setup you are using to be able to record each other’s voices, thanks!
We use the Sena 50C. It is pricey but works very well. Thanks for watching!

Have you done a valve inspection or adjustment on those yet? My wife wants one, but I heard the adjustment is a motor out deal with the duke?
Thank you for watching. I have not. It goes in next week for that service.

@@jerryandjamie2up Thankyou for the reply. I will certainly let you know. It seems it may be the answer I've been looking for.

'I'm in 5th gear at 44,000'.......😳
Those KTM revs haha. Thanks for watching!
Question: are you running stock tires on your 390? Love your video.
No, I have the Continental TKC 70 Rocks on her.
