The blue/grey colours are because this is a 1954 107 pick up, the first year they made a long wheelbase model, the previous were 80” and later 82”. The factory colours were grey body and RAF blue chassis and wheels or all RAF blue. Body cappings are as you say, zinc plated. 1959 they went to a black chassis as per all the SWB models for the last eight years or so, and bronze green was added as a body colour. Seats were available in black, grey or RAF blue options.
I've received my kit and look forward to building it soon. I'll go for bronze green I think. I'm also in the North East (Northumberland coast) and you're right, we haven't had the roasting summer that other parts of the country have experienced, but I'm quite happy with that. Best wishes.
Noo I chopped off the "lugs" on the side panels 🤦🤦 Had the same problem with the cab rear panel leaning back slightly. Thought I'd made a gaff with that too. lol Wish I'd been recommended this video *before* I'd started mine Have also started the Airfix Austin truck. Got the chassis built, so will checkout the vids you mentioned
Nice build. Looks great weathered. I was thinking you had too much silver underneath; chassis and engine sump should be black, underside of the floor body colour, fuel tank either black or body colour. Doesn't show on the finished build though. Heaters were black and I'm thinking blue ones had blue seats. I had a green one and the vinyl seats were exactly the shade of nasty green you used.

The front windscreen with the wiper effect is fantastic!
Thanks Robert!
What a great kit, I want one, I love the way you changed the colour scheme, this kit could be painted almost any colour. Great video, thankyou.

Cheers Steven!
I guess the aftermarket lot could do loads to go with it too.

Cheers George! The rain is a good excuse to build more kits!

I'm not one for displaying them on mirrors. 😉

Brilliant.
May I ask the colour no and paint brand you used for the main bodywork colour please.
Hi Graham. I don't know why I didn't show it. I think it was vallejo 71008
That makes up into a nice Landy, especially with plenty of dirt. Funny there's no exhaust, though. Must be an EV conversion.
Or it just fell off
Nice job
Would love to see it in 1/72 or 1/76
