That´s simply fantastic. Here on TH-cam exist some videos of hers with this merciless aria with different results- it´s no drama for me, a singer is not a robot. Sometimes there´s no energy for different reasons and than the things don´t work as desired. But this video: impressing, nearby an ideal as a bitchy Queen of night. Impressive singing.

@@Sir.Larselot No problem at all! Yes, we should admire this: vocally, it's beautiful, she has the guts to sing it. She still misses the fiery fire and intensity that makes a real great dramatic Königin. She will learn, she's still young!
@@operabilia , i think there's a lot of "fiery fire" in her performance. She's one of the best singers for the Queen, i´ve heard in my life and I'm a passionate opera lover and professional musician. That doesn't makes my opinion to an ultimate truth of course. Just an opinion. Regards :)
Yeah there's a short drag right before she delivers the F6, but I've heard performances incredibly more flawed than this one. I like her more than most though I don't know if anyone can beat Diana Damrau.
belcantospecialist utahdan231 Natalie and Edda are definitely top tier QotN's, with very comparable vocal performances. However, I do tend to find Natalie's German pronunciation a little off sometimes. She does give a really good stage performance, though, which for me is an important criterion of being a good QotN. In this regard, I have only seen Edda in a "stage-like" performance (costumed and with 'facial acting') so I can't make a fair judgement of her. Edita, though, I'm not too keen on. She repeatedly skips ahead of the music in the videos I've seen, and she also doesn't move about at all while she's singing. She just stands there with her arm out. The aria is hard af so nobody can blame her for standing still, but in terms of evaluating her performance I think its important that a QotN either display some mobility or use dramatic performance to provide an excuse for the absence it. Edita doesn't do either of these sufficiently, so for me she can't be an all-round top QotN, which requires more than just being physically capable of singing the aria.

Nice try, but no cigar. It's not enough just to nail the top Fs. There must be hysteria, rage, and a diabolical sense of utter hatred for her mortal enemy. This lady sounds like a housewife who got caught in a fender bender. Edda Moser's supremacy in this role remains unchallenged.

At the end of Lucia's cadenza I started experiencing the feeling of bursting inside, as if I was the part of a certain emotional string orchestra, where I was playing the role of a medium between the music and the rest of universe, like a violin bow or something in a way. Those were my personal impressions on her singing "live". Bring my apologies if they are opposite your suspicion about her emotional expressions.
