My 1957 Vw Beetle Is Back

- I bought my 1957 Volkswagen in 2015. Its considered a Canadian standard, which basically means it was the low trim model at the time.

I used to have a 71 Super , a 69 , and a 74 standard . Now currently have a 2001 turbo beetle (my 4th water cooled bug) . Also had a couple GTIs . Love VWs and hope to get another air cooled again to wrench on .
I've had everything from an actual DAK Kubelwagen to an 04 R32...Only thing I haven't had is a Van.

Wow nice example of a 50's Bug. I loved my '65 and '73 I had years ago. Of course never get in the head-on with these cars though as the gas tank is right in front of your knees, but man do I miss my old Bugs.

Rode in one in Mexico it would slow down going up hill. I'm not sure it could make it to 55. Also drank 50 weight oil.

Have you figured out how to start the car when it's completely out of fuel and you filled the tank again? At starter motor speed the mechanical gasoline pump cannot prime the fuel line to the carburettor. Forget to flip the "reserve" switch back to normal and next time the car sputters, you're in problems.
The bug hug I can verify that it is 100% true with my 72 super beetle Lucy I do want to get a 57 beetle and make into a hot rod bug
