-Himbo- is a good looking but vapid guy, it’s the male version of the term bimbo -Dome is a place where large competitions are held. -Houseboat docked there implies he doesn’t live there permanently but he sure as shit spends a lot of time there Basically it’s an abstract moment of self awareness for this character that he spends his time chasing superficial and materialistic goals instead of prioritizing “her amazing grace” or the relationships/ people in his life
thanks, ye that album release party was so fun !! such a sick performance, really glad i was able to be there :)) nah only other song i got was Rip Torn. but i'll upload it after the album drops tho 😎
"Dumb" is a song by the American rock band, Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist, Kurt Cobain. It is the sixth song on the band's third and final studio album, In Utero, released in September 1993. In a 1993 Melody Maker interview, Cobain explained that the song was about people who lacked the intelligence to be unhappy, which he admitted he was "at times" envious of.[3]
This whole album is full of blatant references to other songs, and song titles. “Amazing Grace”,, the first track starts a lot like “It’s a Wonderful Life” by sparklehorse, I feel like the clarinet on The Shape I’m In (blatant reference to the Band) sounds a lot like something from an Andy Shauf song, and there are plenty more examples I’ll keep to myself.. I think it’s really magical when an artist can do that without crossing the line into being cheesy or sounding unoriginal
@@blakesutton6371 I didn't realize we were calling them "references" now. I no longer think MJ lenderman ripped off a better song from 30 years ago! He just referenced it. Oh and I love that song "Quarry" by Wednesday. It's cool how they reference Waterloo Sunset.
@@Shivayoudestroyme I’m suggesting that it’s intentional, used as a device. It’s interesting to me that it bothers you so much. I do not believe that they think their audience doesn’t know the Kinks or recognize the fact that he’s naming some of these new songs after other songs. This strikes me as the acidic bitterness of a lost soul in the music community who is jealous of others on a different path

It's giving Buck Meek meets grunge-era MTV unplugged and I sure don't mind it.
