- Opening track: Newton - Don’t Worry
Later uses of Locked On, in 12 and 14’s era, are excluded due to, despite it being a part of I am the Doctor, becoming a track in its own right also reworked from the pre-cursors.

My bf called me crazy when I said it played in the Star Beast! Finally, I have proof, thank you!!!
100 likes!, but yeah I had no idea it was in star beast. I always thought of it as a Matt Smith theme
Classic boyfriends gaslighting their partners 😭
Interesting fact is that the version in A Good Man Goes to War is the only time in the entire show where the 3rd section of I am the Doctor plays (the one from 2:52 to 3:42 in the original track). It's a shame because it's my favorite part about the theme and it's never used in the show except in this very short scene, barely audible (9:59 in this video)
Seriously you can hear it in series 4 it's like a prototype version of I Am the Doctor that's really cool it just shows Murray gold was working on it even back then
Same for the shepards boy in the day of the doctor :D
Is there a way to find them? Is on tge soundtrack?
@@LadyPrixya33 I don't know
Love that it plays when Doctor Moon is at his most Doctor considering he’s supposed to be a future incarnation.
Supposed to be a future incarnation?
@@brianmac5638 Yep according to Steven Moffat, the idea was supposed to be that River Song was the wife of the 45th Doctor who died but had his consciousness uploaded to the Library and eventually reunite when the same happened to her. When Moffat and Russel T. Davies met up again in 2020, Moffat said he still liked the idea of him being a future incarnation and Davies revealed that he always thought that he was the Doctor. So never outright confirmed but both the writer of the episodes and show runner of the time head cannon Doctor Moon as THE Doctor as well as fans like me because… I mean, come on.
@@orangeblaster500and cause of what happened with 14 and 15 we can say one became doctor moon and one became the curator
@@LogicDuel I didn’t even think of that, woah. If I had to theorize who’s who, I guess 14->Curator and 15->Doctor Moon
@@LogicDuel That's not how it works. 14 will become 15 and end up back on the rooftop upon regenerating. Otherwise 15 wouldn't have healed from 14's time with Donna, hence the line at the end of the episode. "I'm fine because you fixed yourself"
The Star Beast having The Doctor's Theme and I am the Doctor was fan service we didn't know we needed!
It was topped by the Shepards Boy and Unit Theme popping up in the Giggle.
That’s what I was going to say! Shepard’s boy is top teir
When people complain about its "overuse", they rarely mention the amazing variation that the theme has enjoyed
Think that's why unironically it's my favourite in the pyramid episode of season 10 3 years without hearing it was such a great suprise to hear it after a rest
The beast below variation is by far one of my top variations
@@hazmat7949Series* 10
So Power of Three is the only ordinary Smith era TV episode without the motif playing?
Impressive, but at that point, surprising tbh
It felt so weird to have a straightforward play of the piece for anyone but Eleven, but to have it play in The Star Beast was EVERYTHING. Murray Gold was truly back for me in that moment, and for what The Star Beast was doing it was so energizing to have it used again even in such a Ten-pickup story
you can really hear what's murray gold's favourite piece and i can't blame him
It's crazy how I am The Doctor was in almost every single 11th Doctor episode
Sorry for the constant reuploading. I did it for the attention. Just joking. It was glitch. First copyright. Then muted. Anyway. I am the Doctor video is here.
i swear it's in the waters of mars at some point after the doctor goes back to bowie base to help
It’s when he brings the TARDIS back to him with the robot.
whats the timestamp?
It's played so many times that a compilation is almost as long as a classic Who episode.
Probably the most diverse and widely used pieces of music in the entire show - there's so many variations on this one motif
You're about to see some fucking crazy badass shit when this theme plays
Crazy that the 11th Doctor's theme even plays before series 5 😅
And that The Shepherd’s Boy plays in the 50th!
It’s all very wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey
I didn't know that the music played during David Tennant's run in the 4th season. Good observation skill.
series*
It the one that Matt Smith came up with for his open theme.
Lmao I like how this is the longest one so far
Essentially the theme of 11 and bloody brilliant it is too
Very good. Guess I have to sub ! Keep up doing this kind of videos.
I really want to see every time a good man was used
It’s coming you’ll be happy to hear. 😀
@@CultOfThirteen lets fucking go
I know its probably already coming, but could we please get one of these for "A Good Man?" Its my favortie doctor theme ❤
"I am the DoctorDonna" ❤❤
I think the best instance of this playing, and the one that always comes to mind when thinking of this track, is the Stonehenge speech.
If you're counting the "Locked On" pre-cursors then there's plenty of others. In Capaldi's era: The Witch's Familiar, The Woman Who Lived, Smile, Empress of Mars, The Doctor Falls. And also The Waters of Mars, Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle.
I’m intrigued. Whereabouts in the episodes?
@@CultOfThirteen Waters of Mars 53:34, Witch's Familiar 7:10, Smile 2:03, Empress of Mars 40:04, Wild Blue Yonder 47:10 and 48:08, The Giggle 14:40 and 45:12.
There's definitely more but there's a few! I'd personally count these as "Locked On" rather than I Am The Doctor, cause it's been used more widely, and happened to feature as part of I Am the Doctor. But as you counted the pre cursors it'd make sense to use these too
Very true. Good spots. We decided to use the Series 4 track because the official website said it got reworked into I am the Doctor. 😀
@@CultOfThirteen yeah I'd agree with that!
No sabía que eras un canal habla hispano xD
PD: Tengo que admitir... Que el tema de 11th es mi favorito del de los Doctores, es algo repetitivo, sí, pero a su vez cambia su ritmo e instrumentos, haciendo que se sienta dinámico
Crazy that this theme appeared in every episode. It plays during Eleven's big speeches.
I cheered when they brought it back in The Star Beast. 🤩
Rory: this way ye freak no this way ye great big stupid SpongeBob……. That has to be Rory’s best line 😂
Man I Hope Will Reprise His Role As 16th and Bi generated to actors who could be the 17th doctor
I hope you keep doing what you're doing
For some reason, i can only imagine "A Good Man Goes To War" when i hear this
I would call the Star Beast version as "I am the DoctorDonna"
Awesome vid
You forgot The Husbands of River Song! (When the Doctor "builds" the restaurant)
Isn’t that The Enigma of River Song?
@@CultOfThirteen That's the name of the track but the leimotiv 'I Am the Doctor' is present in it. Same way it is in Let's Kill Hitler!
Ah, fair. What time stamp is it in Husbands. The specific I am the Doctor notes. 😀
@@CultOfThirteen Hey! If you go on the vid "The Husbands of River Song: Highlights | Doctor Who" it's from 14:51 to 15:28. If you listen closely there's two melodies. The Enigma motif that's in plain slight and I am the Doctor that plays as a background motif for the track!
Also Deep Breath is missing! haha
I could never take to the original rendition of I Am the Doctor as I just felt it was so oversaturated, especially in Series 5, but seeing this compilation it's nice to realise Gold balanced it out with some lovely stripped back variations. Then when The Majestic Tale and Up the Shard and other variants came long I slowly warmed to it more. I think my personal favourite rendition is the one at the end of The Bells of Saint John (e.g. the coda to I Might Change My Mind).
Can you the best of Am i a good man and the doctor forever? Great vid
These are two we hope to do soon.
"I didnt know when i was well off, all 12 of them"
"No sir, all 13"
Okay fine I’ll rewatch 11s era
IT WAS IN SEASON 4?! In the same episode as river?! Coincidence? I THINK NOT
You forgot the one with 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th war 9th 10th 11th and 12th saves galifrey
They didn’t forget, just said they were picking 1 from each story
I was only picking one instance from each story
Would we not count the times "Majestic Tale" plays in Runaway Bride and The Next Doctor? And the "I am the Doctor" in Deep Breath?
What are the time stamps? 😀
@@CultOfThirteen
I haven't watched the episodes in forever, but I know they're in the music.
"The Runaway Bride" (3:38)
th-cam.com/video/m-mkNr3dWgs/w-d-xo.html
"March of the Cybermen" (3:50--they even track this into Series 7 for the Cybermen episode)
th-cam.com/video/f5LAB7XvTvg/w-d-xo.html
"Pudding Brains" (1:48)
th-cam.com/video/73ffJD_aHQs/w-d-xo.html
Now, these could really all be cases of a cigar being a cigar, so really, it's up to the listener at the end of the day. Haha! But just figured I'd share. I'm loving these types of videos, though, keep it up (and maybe even do videos covering every variation of the themes 👀)!
Interesting that you included 'To Save the Doctor' from NOTD, it's supposed to be a riff of the Gallifrey theme but I've never noticed the snuck in IATD bit
I absolutely loved it when the 1st doctor was being showed his future they played majestic tale! And then again in the star beast, I was sooo happy! I just hope 15 gets a moment with this epic theme
So it’s in every Matt smith episode except the power of 3!?
Pretty much 😳
So the theme has played 51 times in the show, but has only been heard 8 times outside of matt smiths run. (Thats only to this video its probably played hundreds of times)
God Silence in The Library was so hype
Majestic Tale Soon?
Hopefully
What is Dreamland and why have I not heard of it
It is a fully animated Tenth Doctor story from 2009
@@CultOfThirteen the art style both reminds me of What If, but also the Toymaker’s puppet of 14
In the Van Gogh episode it's also played in the pub conversation scene early on by someone in the background on an accordion.
What I've learned: Donna is the Doctor, apparently
I mean
Kinda
I DONT REMEMBER CLARA TALKING WITH THE FIRST HELP
It was in The Name of the Doctor which is the finale to series 7. It shows Clara going through The Doctor’s time stream.
I am the Doctor is a piece so good they still use it to this day.
the amy's choice part sounds more like the majestic tale than i am the doctor
0:11 The Majestic Tale is included in this video as a variation of I am the Doctor.
Would you do the majestic tale too?
We’ve included some instances of that here as it’s just variation of I am the Doctor. 😀
While overplayed yes but when used at the right moment it is impactful. Come to my mind is of course the 11th hr, day of the doctor especially “all thirteen” moment, death in heaven, & twice upon a time. I think it’s best used when the scene is mostly about the dr doing something grand or giving a speech. I love that Murray was experimenting with it before series 5 I think I can hear it during water on mars climax & voyage of the damned when the ship is falling.
Red Skull: Who The Hell Are You
11th Doctor: I Am The Doctor Here To Stop You And Hydra
I Am The Doctor in Utah is a perfect variation of the theme 🤘🤘🤘🤘
