No, Ukraine has a lot of Russians and Ukrainians who speak Russian within its borders. The two nations also diverged from a common ancestor and are culturally very similar. They could have a great fraternal relationship and be close allies if it wasn't for russian imperialism. This is not cursed, it's blessed.
