Congratulations Ishit Mathur... I am so proud to tell you that I am Motey Pandit ji's eldest grand daughter. I was so close to my Babaji and have loads of fond memories of him and mandir. 🙏
Thanks for connecting. Convey our regards to your family. Pandit ji’s gracious presence in most of the wedding ceremonies in Mathur families made the occasions joyful, especially due to his humorous nature. Feron par khoob hansi mazak chalta tha. We fondly remember him for being with us for years.
I remember my grandfather ( babaji) as a magnanimous person, very progressive and full of life person. I always felt him as larger than life character. He was actually a doctor (vaidya) from Banaras Hindu University, but accepted this as a gift given to him by city life. A zamindar in village, struggled to make existence in city, came to Delhi in 1950.
JAI Ram ji ki...🙏 so good to know about the roots of the Kayastha community and the background of Mathurs. My grandfather, late Shri Amir Nath Mathur, used to stay near this mandir. My childhood memories are strongly associated with roshan pura, Nai Sarak...the famous ramleela jhanki procession that used to pass through the narrow streets. Purani yaadein tazaa ho gayi. Thank you so much for making and sharing this video.
