70s Tower Of Power / Checkmate revival Carbs & Stator

Can we save this old checkmate speedboat with this old mercury straight six 
115 HP 1976 mercury outboard, stater, change, carburetor rebuild tuneup, and electrical wire repair
 1985 checkmate speedboat

Yes, the outboard is indeed the Mercury Tower of Power. The ONLY production Inline 6 two stroke engine in the WORLD.
When I was young I saw these outboards and called them ugly, at a time where I knew very little about engines. That all changed as I got older, learned more about engines, and learned of the engine in these outboards. Like the snap of a finger, I changed my mind on these one of a kind machines.

Achilles heal of those motors is leaks at the exhaust manifold/plate. Take a look at the schematic, it's on the port side of the motor. It can be hard to get the plate off without breaking bolts, but it would be good to pull it off and check the flatness and install new gaskets. A leak there killed
my 140 tower of power

I have the exact same engine with the exact same problem with wire insulation deteriation. Can you tell me where you got your new stator? I live in south Georgia by the way and my sister lives in Rincon.

Burns in Rincon for all the parts , except cap n wires .. CDI makes the stator.. just finding one under $500 is the trick.. I crossed ref the number and took a gamble for a Ebay one.

I haven't finished the video yet, but those spark plug wires thread onto the distrubtor, so don't tug on them.
