I bought some 3/8 plywood cut to 2'x5' pieces. Used some stainless gate hinges to connect the 2'x5' pieces to each other to create a foldable wind blocker for my grill or using a dutch oven. Cheap but works, easy to fold up and store in garage.
It will be great to see over the coming years how it holds up with the more than average home owner cooking in it you do. Would love to see an update review a year from now.
Great unboxing video. I have used this dutch oven table for 5 years now and it has exceeded my expectations and has weathered well even with me neglecting it in the rain. I would also recommend buying the Lodge Camp Dutch Oven Cooking Table Tote Bag ($23 Amazon.). It keeps the wind screen and the table together and easy to transport. I just got around to buying canvas dutch oven bags a few weeks ago to use for camping trips now that I am retired. Not sure why I didn't buy them sooner. Keep up the great story telling, cooking, and videos.
Once again ...awesome video...! I was just looking at this same table at Bass Pro yesterday....you have made up my mind for me...going tomorrow to buy one....can’t wait to use it and make us some of those beans...! Thanks for a great review and recipe..!
I'm having a hard time justifying $150.00 for one of these tables . However , even though I now live alone , and as much as I enjoy charcoal cooking , I'm beginning to lean towards getting one . But , my Weber Kettle has a permanent place in my bar-b-que routine . But, this table will get me to use my Dutch Oven more than I have been using it lately. It will give my cast iron collection a wider field of use in the future .
Just ordered one. Read thru the comments and if/when any of the tacks break, I’ll re-weld them. No big deal. But since I weld as a hobby, I think I’ll use one of the suggestions for side wing tables to hold lids etc. I may even add a couple small steel hooks to hang the lid lifter and small tools to move coals around. Great vid and review. Enjoy these a lot
Purchased this table a year ago. I really like it. One suggestion is to buy the cover for it also. Keeps everything alot cleaner when storing the table in our RV.
Thanks so much for the review. I have been eyeballing this table for some time now and I think it’s time to invest..also great quick recipe for beans so I might give those a try as well. Great job and thanks again.
This appears to be another great product from Lodge. I would like (prefer) to see them add removable side racks on each end for placing dutch oven lids while cooking without having to place them on the ground.
Your older 8mm not inch thick aluminium top is similar to the one I've been working with Mine was 4mm steel off cut 2 feet x2feet and its very useful So the lodge with legs is a very good all round utility fire apparatus idea
I know it kind of defeats the purpose but I’d put a small steel plate or a few bricks as liner to prolong the life of the table. I ordered one and one on using it for the lodge grills
Thank you for your honest reviews. Question: Was the cooking height a comfortable level, or did you need to stoop a bit... It looks lower than your built table.
You got a lot of ( cool cast iron cooking stuff ) I always wanted to get that table good video 🇺🇸👍 p.s. you always cook some kick ass food on your videos. 👍
So after owning this awhile, what is your your opinion now on the lodge table. I’m looking hard at the one from chuck wagon supply. I drive a mustang convertible and I can just barely get my current table in the car. I’m looking for something lighter and more portable than my current table. I figure I need a table more than I need a sportsman grill.
Mine is holding up well and I leave it out more than I should. I would go ahead and buy the carry bag if your going to be transporting it. The windscreen is a loose piece. Thanks for watching.
Nice, I just did a new video, not greatest but how i cook my fish in my #8 chicken fryer. Great video. Some of the stuff like pork i cant eat but i can always substitute pork for other meat. I love this channel.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel indeed, started in the marines and in the end after 14 years. I served with the army. But yeah 4 active Hollywood marine and 2 active reserves for 2nd deployment. The rest army.
I got out right before Desert Storm and tried to re-enlist for that operation, but was already past my inactive reserve time, so I was put on a list if needed. Never got the call. I almost got accepted into the Air National Guard, but some higher up decided they did not want former active duty Marines for some reason. Too tough I think for them. Semper Fi.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel I tried to go the full 20, my body decided otherwise lol. And my video is still uploading. But I'll admit your channel was one of the first few i subbed to after I discovered cast iron. Just picked up 3 more Dutch ovens. 2 lodges one number 10 and a 12. Both older. Then I picked up Wagner ware definetly used size 9 I think that was nickle plated. Not exactly a cheap addiction. Lol. 1920's i think.

I had no idea these things existed! No more kneeling down 😊

I have that tote bag up on Amazon as well. Thanks for watching.
Beans look great. I"ve been looking for a DO table and really appreciate the in-depth look at the Lodge. Thanks.!

I sure am enjoying your videos!!! Great content
Seems like the windscreen would hold your charcoal ash on the table without a gap at the bottom if the windscreen was reversed? Maybe not.

@Ghvkjbjkgv Xgcyjdyjfyjy makes money!
Do you think that would hold a lodge sportsman grill?
HAPPY 4TH BROTHER!

I thought the level was perfect. My old setup was a little high, but that is what I had. Thanks for watching.
I have packed the same propane table to Sturgis, worked great but was a pain and very bulky, never tried the Lodge table.
Keep us updated on how many uses you get out of it before the bottom burns and falls out .
Is made in China. You will be seeing this a lot in upcoming videos, so you will see how it holds up if your subscribed. Thanks for watching.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel made in China?! What a shame. Still looks great though. Hope it holds up
Hello. I would like to see what you think of lodges fire and cook stand. Love your channel. Kevin.
Check out B&B charcoal it’s a all natural hard wood oak it last a really long time
Thanks, I will look for that.
how much time would be great. love your channel, but maybe include the time it takes to heat, cook.
Great cooking outdoor channel👏👏
Just like the cowboys cooked!
Would this be good for a lodge sportsman grill and dutch oven setup?
yes
Would be safe to use your lodge sportsman grill on this table
Yes. Thanks for watching.

Man that looked delicious!
Is your bean recipe available in print?
That thing is sweet man

I really wish you would start a restaurant man it would be a hit I would definitely be one of your best customers
You'd be his 2nd best customer... After yours truly 😎
I would like to see more leveling adjustment. (Deeper Threads) I didn't look at all comments so sorry if this is a repeat.
That would have been nice. Thanks for watching.🍳
Happy 4th can’t wait brother #tylerwoodbushcraft
👍
those are not welds they are tacks that brake sooner then later
We will see. Thanks for watching.
Nice if you have almost 200$ to drop
I got my table for about $130.00, a few years ago. The price has not changed much. You just got to shop around!
