Garrett ATX and Whites TDI SL are my best beach and gold detectors . Much much better than any multifrequencies or vlf .... very sensitive to small and deep targets in mineralised conditions . Just forget about minelab gpx series wich are a pain in the ass to configurate for very small targets ....

Thanks KU NI I'm trying to get a feel for the sounds of the ATX and need to take it out for more hunts to see. The scoop is called the Howie Scoop and I don't think Howie is making them any more. Howie if you see this call me.
Hey man, I was looking at buying myself a metal detector but I don't know what kind to go with? I'm very low budgeted so.. And it's also just for on shore. Do you have any suggestions? I'm willing to go up to 400$ :/ Like i said, low budget
Dark Invader I get this question a lot and there are many detectors under $400.00 Your best bet is to go to www.treasurenet.com there's a lot of nice and knowledgeable people on that forum. Good luck out there.
R Adams will do thank you I was just in the keys this past weekend and found all kinds of coins but my xlt still does not like the salt water at all lol
R Adams the detector it self cant handle the salt iv even tried custom programs with no luck that and it not being water proof are why I dont run it In the water and why im looking to get a at pro I hear they do well on the beach.
garrett at pro garrett sea hunter mark 2 white beach hunter id tesoro sand shark tesoro tiger shark.. you can get only one for the beach ,in the water . wish one you will choose.???
From your list I have only used the Garrett at pro and the sea hunter mark 2 and for the type of hunting I do I liked the AT Pro. Check the metal detecting forums like www.treasurenet.net to get a better understanding about the other metal detectors and features that are available from forum members.
would you buy this machine for surf hunting and using during sanded in conditions do you thinks it's a upgrade from a whites dual field PI and we have been try to buy a howie scoop for 3 years and cant find any available online
That's a hard question because I borrowed it from a friend for a few days to try out and everything sounded (the tones) the same to me. After trying the CTX I bought it and like it a lot. Try listening to the videos I made with different machines to get a better understanding of the tones they make with the different metals.
***** Oh Crap I forgot about that one, it was still in the wrapper. I have seen a used one float by one day but no gloves and no battery left in the GoPro
I HAD an atx I wasn't impressed with the depth at all.had great sensitivity to small objects like any p.i detector but depth was average.better prospecting detector than a beach one imo
Glad you enjoyed it. It was our pleasure.
Wow what a great way to test it by finding some sweet finds. Congrats.
WildDigger Thanks Digger. That was about 4 hours of hunting that paid off.

Dark Invader for that piddly amount of dough i'd say a garrett ace 350 would fit the bill..
Exactly where were you at Biscayne Bay? We search South Beach almost every weekend.
West side of Hobie Beach. Take the Rickenbacker causeway and it's just over the big bridge on the right
what is your deepest target with the ATX in salt water?
+Ervin Berberi It's hard to tell because of the water and the target may have fallen back in the hole
Is that place still in business I'm looking for somewhere local to pick up a Garrett at Pro
Yes there open. The store is in Hialeah call 305-818-9844 ask for Melissa or Jose please tell them I sent you.
R Adams will do thank you I was just in the keys this past weekend and found all kinds of coins but my xlt still does not like the salt water at all lol
Take the coil cover off in the water air bubbles and sand will give you faulty signals. Happy hunting.

+Joe Trino I don't have the ATX any more, it was a loaner. Howie where are you? Start making more scoops!!!!
question sir, I'm really interested in the ATX....Do you feel it's worth the money?
