I love how the Whomp King's dialogue is nearly exactly the same as in Super Mario 64!

@@queenfoxie0947 those are technically power-ups. Besides... if you play it that way... Mario can walk on water, summon clouds, jump high into the sky using the flowers

Hmmm... who knows...
They were their own dimensions created from the stars themselves, and the dimensions are likened to the conveyed vibe of the image or location where the portals are found. But the painting itself might be based on the Throwback Galaxy

That would be awesome. To get another expanded remake of it or the DS one with 20-25 levels instead of 15 with 7 new stars each, while not tampering with the original levels.

theory: mario went to space before galaxy. because mario 64 paintings took mario to different galaxies without him knowing. that would explain the "void" below courses, and that mario instead of just falling into grass or sumthing, he falls into nothing. returning to the castle.

DankusYT I mean the ds version is just a enchanted version of the original but it was great and sucked for some reason and it’s maybe the underrated version of the 64 version (We know that super Mario 64 is overrated)
@@Swag_K1RBY while i disagree that sm64 is underrated as i got that game on the WiiVC and played it to death, I do agree that sm64 DS is an enhanced version that did a lot right and could have been a way better experience but what made it so bad is that instead of the 360 degree movement we used to have, we now had only 8 directions because of the fact you had to use a d-pad and atleast for me, that made the game near impossible to beat without wanting to throw my ds at a wall

It kinda irritates me that there's no Boss fight music from Super Mario 64 to go with King Whomp. I do, however, love how King Whomp slams his hand on the ground saying "Dang it!".

If you want to feel old, remember that the same amount of time has passed between Super Mario Galaxy 2's release and now that passed between the releases of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Just go put into perspective how much of a super mario 64 remake this game is, I'd like to mention that animations for a dive attack, punch attack, and kick attack are hidden in the games files.
They should remake 64 sometime in the future
Technically this game has 2 throwbacks both related to earlier 3D Mario games. This throwback galaxy throwbacks to Super Mario 64, then we have an earlier galaxy (Starshine Beach galaxy) that throws back to Super Mario Sunshine.

The 1st level in Throwback Galaxy reminds me of 1 of the levels from Super Mario 64.
That's literally the whole point. Hence the name Throwback Galaxy. As in a throwback to Mario 64.
