Easily some of the most talented musicians of our lifetime. Andre 3000 is a musical prodigy. Dude can play EVERY instrument featured in his music. Truly amazing skill
@@notimportant3686 music changes, that’s how it has always been and always will. you think people used to rock and roll easily adjusted to rap when it became popular? it’s soemthing you need to be open minded towards and search for what you enology instead of harping on people for enjoying what you don’t
I didn't realize until just now, many years later, that Andre's lyrics are very deep. He's rapping about a soldier's experience in the war, then coming home as veteran. VERY deep and easily missed if you're just jamming and not really 'listening'. The line: 'don't pull the thang out unless you plan to bang' could be sexual, but I believe he's referring to a soldier using his weapon....VERY deep stuff right here. Much respect.
Andrew A indeed! It's a celebration of life, an escape to a perfect world where you can lose yourself away from everything.... They certainly don't make music like this anymore today.
Andrew A this song is a masterpiece but your comment is so ignorant towards all the other kinds of music like seriously no this doesnt have everything thats good about music in it if you were to make a song like that it would be atleast an hour long or it would just feel way to weird switching through all these diffrent soundscapes without proper transitions(although it would also be an experience woth my time) pls keep an open mind and give other music a chance i myself disliked hip hop like i disliked classical and jazz but i gave them a chance took a couple tries now i couldnt do without them (like your missing out on so many other types of emotions mindsets and cant really experience live fully through always being affected by 1 kind style) my ego was standing in my way, stopping me from taking it in as it is i was looking for the music i already liked in all these very diffrent kinds of music but i gave it time i waited a few weeks and gave it a chance again and again, in my subciounces it was echoing and echoing i started havingh a earworm and didnt know what it was untill i gave that stuff i didt get the first few times anorher chance and low and behold theyre was my earworm only greater much greater because theyre was so much more to get than the little catchy part my mind saved so to speak so yeah i hope for once somebody actually accepts my "wisdom" cause im telling you it will be worth it, i know its hard to get over your ego but just take your time step by step. you will realise all sound is music

To this day these two remain underrated and underappreciated. They absolutely changed the game completely with their creativity and unique style. Honestly who else made music like this? 🔥🔥🔥🔥
OutKast changed the game in 95 with that declaration, proceeds to make music that transcends East north South West. I mean chopped and screwed, Trap, Crunk are all southern traditions, OutKast on a league of their own.
Too bad all they're saying nowadays is mumbled. Even their clothes are mumbled today. Outkast is forever and 3000 years from now will be ahead of the game.
This beat is still one of the most unique I've ever heard. If they weren't throwing a verse over the top of it, would you know what genre this was even was? It's like Miami Bass played a lot of video games and met DnB at choir practice with a shredding guitar solo tossed in for good measure. Production-wise, Outkast made their own rules. The rest of us are still catching up.

Dungeon Family! Yes!!!
Earthgang is here and they’re contributing to this energy
Dear Outkast,
We need you back!!💗
Sincerely,
A big fan
Liz eth Fr tho, a well-deserved comeback 🔥
Music is dying over here.

Best track ever when you’re at the end of your run and need that last gas to hit the final mile. Thanks, Andre!!!
Yesssss
Absolutely 🔥
This track has always been a mover! It's seriously like a train coming and passing thru the whole song👍🏿
(I wonder who produced this)
Exactly.
Exactly when I put this song on!
Over 20 years and nobody has matched this kind of energy
And probably never will
This is artistically intelligent music. BOB combines rap, funk, rock, and electro complete with awesome lyrics, programming, and production. This is truly artistic rap, it’s not always about being hard and gangster, have some fun with it! André and Big Boi are forever geniuses!!
Psychedelic Music too
Yes!! Totally agree!!
ask yourself who actually pushes the music and has the advertising budget to put artists in ur face. Its not the people thats the problem its universal records and others who push the narrative of the youth .
Young Thug could take a lesson.
Correct
Outkast really were innovators in hip hop and music in general. They left an indelible legacy in the industry and on the culture as a whole.
Easily some of the most talented musicians of our lifetime.
Andre 3000 is a musical prodigy. Dude can play EVERY instrument featured in his music. Truly amazing skill
Absolutely!
and then rap flushed it all away with total garbage they've been pumping out for 20 years since
how?.... why?
indelible.....nice word!!!!!
@@notimportant3686 music changes, that’s how it has always been and always will. you think people used to rock and roll easily adjusted to rap when it became popular? it’s soemthing you need to be open minded towards and search for what you enology instead of harping on people for enjoying what you don’t
One of the greatest hip hop songs EVER made....
Man, this is amazingly great! I really like how they never tried to be like anyone else.
Much respect.
whitest take ever. ruined the song.
The following line can be used as a follow up reffering to: "if you pull out a gun, you better have a target"
I'm a soldier. 2000-2003. Thanks for listening.

God they were so original.... This music will never be topped... Take notes kids...
pt88gt I agree!! Kids these days will never experience this!!
So much energy. Don’t listen to this on the highway. End up with a ticket going 150
In what?
LOL So true..
Can confirm. XD

Andre 3000, What a fucking legend
AND Big Boi
right
Outkast = rap legends
Michael McGrory yes
Yep
Big Boi is extremely underrated. One of his best verses ❤
this song contains everything thats great about music, everything music can & should be.
It's hip hop, rock, techno, gospel, dance funk,.....this IS Music in all its glory
Michael Otis Word ✊ Music of this caliber remibds me that not EVERYTHING about humanity is fu*ked, gives me hope for the future, lol.
Andrew A indeed! It's a celebration of life, an escape to a perfect world where you can lose yourself away from everything....
They certainly don't make music like this anymore today.
you sure?
Andrew A this song is a masterpiece but your comment is so ignorant towards all the other kinds of music
like seriously no this doesnt have everything thats good about music in it
if you were to make a song like that it would be atleast an hour long
or it would just feel way to weird switching through all these diffrent soundscapes without proper transitions(although it would also be an experience woth my time)
pls keep an open mind and give other music a chance
i myself disliked hip hop like i disliked classical and jazz
but i gave them a chance took a couple tries now i couldnt do without them (like your missing out on so many other types of emotions mindsets and cant really experience live fully through always being affected by 1 kind style)
my ego was standing in my way, stopping me from taking it in as it is
i was looking for the music i already liked in all these very diffrent kinds of music
but i gave it time i waited a few weeks and gave it a chance again and again, in my subciounces it was echoing and echoing
i started havingh a earworm and didnt know what it was
untill i gave that stuff i didt get the first few times anorher chance
and low and behold theyre was my earworm only greater
much greater because theyre was so much more to get than the little catchy part my mind saved so to speak
so yeah i hope for once somebody actually accepts my "wisdom"
cause im telling you it will be worth it, i know its hard to get over your ego but just take your time step by step.
you will realise all sound is music
OutKast's musicianship has to be one of the most unique in hip hop.
Twenty years later and it's still a straight BANGER!
it's beyond it's time. cooler than cool in any era
Listen to the instrumental and then you'll realize why these guys are the GOAT.
Best rap duo ever...music is timeless.
UGK than Outkast !!!!!! Pimp and Bun on another level they stayed true to the hood so I'll say UGK the best all they albums ride from beginning to end!!!!!!
Roll Tide, dont choose, I know I can't.
You right, Ugk, R. I. P to that mane, Pimp C.
manb4war now outlast is hot....RUN DMC THEE BEST OF ALL TIMES
It’s a tie see there’s these two dudes up in VA called the clipse.🤔
There isn't another rap song that can match this energy. What a piece of music.
Facts!
Agreed
Firefly Festival 2014 - I've never seen that many people lose their minds all at the same time. They opened with this song.
Always on a Friday before going to a club....boombing system in the car! B. O. B!

I want to live in this video.
MDMA helps.

Me too man. pity LSD isn't permanent
HolidayKirk lololol
First heard this as a the background song on a skate video. It worked so well. That's how I got into OutKast!
please please please don't forget that big boi is a legend too. he may not be the artistic poet andre is but he's still one of the best rappers ever and released one of the best solo albums of this decade.
He's my fav out of the duo.
Amen to that
just listen to his solo stuff... amazing
agreed
Josh Carson FINALLY SOMEONE!!!
You don't know how hype this song was back in the days
Santwone S.

paperman yachty is garbage
Moreno Papi this song still hype lol. I'll bump this forever
Quite possibly the greatest hip hop song ever written. Outkast are immortal. It's no wonder they were named the greatest hip hop group of all time!
Wu-Tang forever
@Asian2706 don't get wrong. Wu Tang is great, but I give the edge to Outkast.
@@garywilliams2108 Without Wu Tang there is no Outkast, I don’t get you wrong, but you need to get me right LOL
The Drummer 🥁 in this song is a beast
I think people still dont know how truly amazing this song is.
We used to play it on our loud speaker every day when we rolled out on missions in Baghdad.
Outkast dropping one of the best Drum & Bass tracks of all time..
Wow so true! Never thought about that 😂
One of the most unique musical duos! Andre kept the energy and Big Boi was greezy! 😂 I miss the 90’s best music era.
This was from like '03
this is a 2000 song
its from the 2000's lol
I'm an older OutKast fan but this song is as good as anything on ATLiens (my fav album).
Andre's style was pimp with a touch of hippy
Gangsta from another planet.
That it just put him in “the warriors” movie or game
André 3000 is an actor. He plays some good movies.
Hemp?
Pippy
This is literally the aesthetic i see a lot of artists go for in their music videos today, that's how far ahead of the game these guys were. I hope this song gets a second wave of popularity at some point, it still sounds as good now as it did then if not better
This kind of aesthetic has been done a million times in other music genres.
@@Offensive_Usernamefter OutKast of course huh? Your rebuttal is half assed, doesn't really imply when. Which is important context, considering he used "today."
@@Offensive_Usernameno one has been able to capture it as beautifully as OutKast.
I'm so happy Outkast exists.
Notice how Andre was with the kids and Big Boi was with the skrippers 😂😂.....long live Outkast 👑👑
So many modern elements in this video and production. My mind is lowkey blown. It’s the timelessness for me.
One of the best and most unique hip hop songs of all time. A masterpiece. Gets me hype every-time.

it's drum and bass not hip hop

The drums, the guitar, the choir, the lyrics...this song is a complicated masterpiece!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
To this day these two remain underrated and underappreciated. They absolutely changed the game completely with their creativity and unique style. Honestly who else made music like this? 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think the people that matter realise their talent. I mean Eminem gave Andre a shout in his top 10
No one their music was unmatched
20 years later, the South still got something to say.
South running hip hop nowadays
South been saying what need to be said. Haven't bit they tongue once. Respect from the West since day one✊
OutKast changed the game in 95 with that declaration, proceeds to make music that transcends East north South West. I mean chopped and screwed, Trap, Crunk are all southern traditions, OutKast on a league of their own.
@@silentrevolver4600 Tru Kingz of the souf!
Too bad all they're saying nowadays is mumbled. Even their clothes are mumbled today. Outkast is forever and 3000 years from now will be ahead of the game.
the world sure could use some new Outkast music right about now..
By far the BEST high energy song repping fun southern culture.
It's just an electro beat. Drum and Bass is a different structure and tempo.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's a very ATL thing from the 90s, go listen to My Boo by Ghost town DJs and there's so many other songs like that out of ATL
@@flyleelee5351 facts it’s part of the Atlanta early 90s culture we had our own version of bass music
Andre said, whilst in England, was the first time he heard DnB and it inspired him so much he made this.
Big boi's flow is way futuristic for the year this song was released.. You young rappers should take notes!
Just throw them all away
Fast flow and you can understand EVERY WORD🔥
Greek Pimp : Big Boi too underrated 🔥🔥
Completely underrated duo!
This song was ahead of its time. I don't think people grasp the concept back in 99-00.
This was one of the hottest joints to ever hit the radio back in the day
Shout out to the person or persons who produce this track. Love this song. I especially love the guitar solo at the end. This song here alone is way better than any song that been out for the past 5 years combined.
Still 🔥🔥 2024 anyone?
