Marathi movies are not as star studded and illustrious as bollywood ,they are not as violent and stylish as Tollywood but they are deep rooted and very classically and skilfully told stories that touches your heart. They don't earn like KGF or RRR but the innocence of Marathi cinema should be preserved at all cost.

Marathi films are very inspirational they never make us fail for the entertainment and message they give.Killa and Fantry are my favourite movies and the most favourite is Bucket List I highly recommend watching that.

Marathi films are content oriented. There are some gems like Kaasav, that deals with depression. Astu, that deals with Alzheimer's etc

Marathi and malayalam films are the best to watch. They are simply great.
Malayalam films these days have that dirty Communist, Missionary and Islamic propaganda these days, and Christian and Muslim appeasement to the fullest.
Malayalam used to deliver good movies. But slowly the woke actors and writers are taking over, thus making it as worse as Bollywood.
Watching some recent Malayali films feels like the director must've passed from JNU.

I have recently started watching Marathi movies and I have become a big fan by just watching 10-15 movies. How simply they potray our society and culture gives the glimpse of real India. One movie that I really want to recommend is 'CYCLE' available on Netflix.

1) Lokmanya - Ek Yugpurush
(Director: Om Raut; Starring: Subodh Bhave, Chinmay Mandlekar, Priya Bapat; Songs: Shankar Ehsaan Loy)
2) Katyar Kaljat Ghusli
(Director: Subodh Bhave; Starring: Subodh Bhave, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Shankar Mahadevan; Songs: Rahul Deshpande, Mahesh Kale, Shankar Mahadevan)
3) Shiv Astak (Movie Series of 8 movies)
(Director: Digpal Lanjekar; Starring: Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrunal Kulkarni; Songs: Devdutt Baji)
You might call me biased, but Marathi films are the only ones that sell without the need for a superstar face, and without much budget, without "Maar Peet" scenes (Goon culture being sold as 'Action').
And, and, and, never forget the Marathi theatre industry, which is probably the only theatre culture in Bharat that still delivers a 'Housefull' worthy drama.
The Marathi theatre is the mine from where the Marathi actor gems arise!
Also, a tip to the Marathi producers: It's high time now, we ought to co-release our Marathi movies in Hindi, Telugu and other languages now.
The movies of southern states earn well, partially because they co-release in Hindi. Otherwise, had these films not being dubbed in Hindi, they might not have achieved that much success. (It's a True fact, let's be rational)
