If so wouldn't it effectively remove the need for red alloy wire and slightly condense that build removing some of your direwire? Also if it's entirely wireless and automated why didn't you put it under the altar hidden?
Ahah those were funny fails messing with redstone. Blood magic needs so much stuff to automate the altar, it would look cool if you put all that redstone in a room, like a server room or a insdustrial control room and left the altar looking low tech and bloody and behind the seems a whole room controling the beast. Love you videos direwolf, following your thinking process makes me understand how the machines work. It's minecraft! :D And it is modded, it's cool to build those machines, like complicated piston doors instead of just having a door, it's the fun of the game
I've only made it 17 minutes in so far, but linking all the insulated wires together without separating them with repeaters means all the servos will be active no matter which slate you request to craft. Which means it will always pull out a basic slate and never complete the higher tier crafts. You need to isolate the signals, like diodes in circuit boards, so you don't get feedback on the other lines.
ProjectRed has a thing called a Bus Converter, translates between bundled cable and analog redstone, different powers for different colors. The sides output full signal if it's receiving anything at all. Would clean up some of that Thermal conduiting for the orb system.
repeaters act as a diode so just do the colour thing at 21:30 then put a repeater in-between the thermal-dynamics/redpower interfacing. This should prevent back-flow of redstone data. so like so: red wire -> repeater -> redstone -> thermal-dynamics redstone relay.

Max TitAn Yeah, but I think Dire had a clever idea for retrievers that didn’t work out (probably making it so it only retrieves one item from the stack when multiple stone are there and many types are being made at once). That carried over to thinking “Why not use Thermal for this anyway?” when that wouldn’t work.
Couldn't he have the final tier as the constantly powered servo? It wouldn't pull out anything beneath tier wise and do absolutely nothing to crafting them.

I just attempted to build something similar and can say that what he did is a bit overengineered... I understand he uses phantomface and phantom liquiface to make it easier for himself, but it is not necessary. I build my setup using four sides of the altar - 1) North: liquid monitor, 2) East: stone input (retriever), 3) West: orb output (servo), 4) South: slate output / orb input (just itemduct). (And I could probably get rid of orb output and get orb out using retriever rather than servo, but I don't see the need to do that.)
