Mohammad Salah has set a fantastic example of being civil, respectful and kind to people of other religions, just as those non-Muslims are who wish Muslims ‘Eid Mubarak’ on Eid. Showing kindness and respect to each others’ religions is required in societies that are diverse and welcome people from around the world such as Western societies. It is ironic that you are speaking English and presumably live in America and then accuse someone else of imitating non-Muslim just because they have a Christmas tree in their house.

They want to prove they're holier than the Prophet. Even the Holy Quran and the Bible preach that no one should judge others because judgment is of Him. And most especially the Holy Quran preaches tolerance amongst Muslims with non-muslins.

To those Muslims who keep saying what’s the big deal? He is just showing respect to the Christian faith. The issue is that he is committing shirk and spreading that among other Muslims. He is advocating for exactly what happened to religion in the west. He is watering down our religion. Other religions (especially in the west) have been watered down to the point there is almost nothing left. We don’t want the same to happen to our beloved and valuable faith.

Having lived in Scotland and England for more than 50 years as a working migrants… I have experienced overt and covert prejudices more so about my name and my Asian presentations. I had never changed my name … many had tried to call me Hamish in Scotland or Hammy in England by work colleagues. It was very difficult as it created a barrier between the natives and foreigners.
I share Mohammed Salah’s stances as a practicing muslim. He shows he has integrated within the community he lives and within the football community. For that he is well respected. He is afterall a public figure, a role model and an icon because of his talents and achievements as a professional football.
Brother, it is all very well talking and preaching the Islamic customs but you are not really exposed to a world where Islam is seen as a threat.

Love all and respect all, this must be the new religion to all citizens of this world, and the faith that an individual believes in must be practiced within the individual, if the world can believe in the religion of LOVE, there will not be wars, hunger any many more that affects mankind.

Thank you for uploading this great insight regarding 'imitating a cultural version' of Christianity whilst practicing Islam, the accurate point of 'respect' for others whilst undermining our own personal beliefs is something that we need to decolonize ourselves from, generally we interact and navigate our way with other people, many of whom are spiritually bankrupt, traumatized,or have a deep sense of resentment toward others that appear 'different' in some way, we need to stay strong and assert our God-given sovereign rights, they will get used to the sights and sounds at some point, never explain or compromise.

Dear, unfortunately you misunderstand Islam. I don’t know where you are from, but it is clear to me that you are a strict Salafi. If you think with your mind, would that be wrong? Please understand the Quran and then judge Salah. The verses of the Quran teach you your religion and I have my religion. I am not a worshipper of what you worship, nor are you a worshipper of what I worship. Whoever wants to believe, let him believe, and whoever wants to disbelieve, let him disbelieve. Allah has sent down His religion for mankind. No one is forced to embrace it. Freedom is personal and every individual is responsible. Allah teaches us in the Quran that if you sit and see Allah’s verses being mocked or someone cursing Allah, do not sit with them until they talk about something else. The verses of the Quran teach us to cooperate, to cooperate in piety and righteousness, and to say to people, “Okay, whatever your religion, you are a person whom Allah has honored.” If you sit next to a priest, will you be a Christian like him? If you shake hands with a Jewish cleric, will that mean that you have become Jewish? Dear, faith is a complex and powerful issue. People do not change their faith except after thinking and taking a long time. God commanded people to be brothers, cooperating and loving. Al-Azhar's Sheikh and all the Sheikhs visit churches to congratulate our Christian brothers. Has the Sheikh of Al-Azhar converted to Christianity? President Sisi visits the church to congratulate Christians, and the Pope stops the mass so that Sisi can speak to Christians. Has President Sisi violated Islam? We visit our Christian brothers to congratulate them on Christmas and Easter. They undermine the cohesion of society and the bond between us as a people. Every person maintains his faith, but we have a social and economic life. Unfortunately, you are relying on a false hadith that the Prophet did not say. The Salafis and those who do not think with their minds passed it on to you. This hadith teaches extremism and puts people on the path of modern terrorism. Greetings to Mohamed Salah, the true Muslim.

Makes no sense that you have to take part in pagan ritual (yes Christmas is a pagan ritual, research pretty well documented now) in order to show respect to Christians. This imo is more of an influencer type thing, targeting young muslims.Alot of youngsters look up to him. Its not disrespectful to anyone if you don't celebrate rituals of other religions and their beliefs? Each to his own etc. The most important principle in Islam is the oness of God, that should be the priority, taking part in Christmas would contradict that and we say this with all respect to others.. simple

It is common to use a nick name, or few letters of your name in daily life communication, as Charles becomes Charli, Christopher become Chris, Mohamed becomes Mo, etc. To those commenting that Mo Salah is committing and spreading shirk, advocating and watering down his religion, because he published picture of his family with Christmas tree in the background, I will tell them you don't know what his intention is. So, get out of your own bubble, and narrow vision, and think about the great lessons Mo has given to all the young and old: excel in what you do, don't be afraid to treat and interact with people with love and respect, cherish family life. For those reasons Mo's fans gave him love, fame, fortune, and sang his name in the games when he showed his talent.

The weird thing is Prophet Isa (AS) was not even born on 25th December! His birthday was paganised to suit their worship of the sun. Look at history, the origin of "Christmas tree" was from Babylon - the death of Nimrod & the wild superstitious customs of his mother. Presents under a tree started from there & they Christianized this custom in Rome. Many believe even Santa is an anogram of Satan! Plus the tree nor Santa are in the Bible. So, Mohammad Salah is celebrating a pagan Babylonian custom, not Christian. The real Christians (Arians of North Africa) rejected the Trinity & fought Rome over this, they were martyred while the great deceiver, Paul (Saul) was a Jew & promoted the Trinity to Rome, despite never meeting Prophet Isa (AS)!

Most interesting. The world as we once knew it has changed dramatically in demographic terms since 1945. Britain, a once overwhelmingly white, Christian country, is now muti-cultural and multi-ethnic, with a growing Muslim community. Indeed, as you pointed out, Mohamed (in its various spellings) is now the most popular name for the male newborn. Where I take issue with the criticism of Mo, a great footballer who plays for my team, is where comment is made that in displaying a Christmas tree in his home, he is in some way letting his religion down. The indigenous British are not devout in their religious observance. I would suggest that in displaying their Christmas trees, they are more inclined to pursue the regrettable commercial aspect of Christmas, i.e. party time and presents to each other. To my mind, what is far more important is our understanding of different religious beliefs and practices. Islam should welcome interest from open-minded enquirers and non-believers. Islamophobia thrives on ignorance. Happy New Year.

I seen a lot of the comments under his instagram post. The muslim community let themselves down. It was disgusting to read how Muslims attacked him and his family. You call yourselfs men of god is a joke. Men of god would never attack anyone like this. Plus 95% of Muslims living in the western world celebrate Christmas. Drink do drugs and lot of other things that they are not allowed to do. Hypocrisy at its best if you ask me. Shame on you all that criticised king mo

From the time you said the exaggerated percentage 95% of Muslims you got your own agenda you must be a Liverpool supporter. God is more important than anything within this world including Liverpool football team I see people replace God with these sort of cult like following of THINGS. Secondly majority of Liverpool fans only like Mohammed Salah because hes the main reason for Liverpool to be top of the league his goals and assist is providing your recent successful results & is Liverpool most important player yet he still hasnt been offered a contract similar to Trent & VVD situation he genuinely is the make/break to Liverpool season success yet you fans either dont want or to arrogant as Christians to call him by his birth giving name the least respect to anybody could get to be called by his REAL name he wasnt born Mo as you fans call him hes just so alienated in acceptance of the English culture he may do something that compromising hes own beliefs and culture hence why the player himself also has been sucked into this pressure. He should stay true to who he is this is a sign from his personal life to be a weak minded mentality. Hence why the comments and observations from others that may or may not look at him like a role model due to his world of footballing status. Being famous has huge responsibilities and these are called upon

@ I’m right most Muslims in the west do drugs and drink and celebrate Christmas. Your trying to take offence at people calling him mo is a joke. It’s a nickname just like the majority of people in the west have nicknames. Why try to read into something that isn’t there. Yes I like him because he’s a Liverpool legend. But it’s the same for Muslims yous are only interested in him because he is Muslim. Sure look how badly yous want ronaldo to be Muslim is pathetic and makes yous all look like sheep. There is nothing wrong with Islam as a religion but the people who follow it are the problem they make it out like it’s some sort of cult and yous all follow like sheep. Yous can’t really think for yourselfs that’s why if someone like mo wants to do something individual for himself yous all attack him. Shame on you. And stop making a religion that teaches people to be good and also do good onto others into a cult

Mohammed Salah is ignorant of his religion. Some one needs to educate him of his religion.Being famous and rich does not exclude him of his obligations as a Muslim.
Anyway, being a Muslim is more than your name and the family you are from but your practice.Having a Christmas 🎄 tree as a Muslim in your house is very unislamic.

    Food For Thought
For the information of the Muslims, let’s breakdown about Jesus of the Bible and Isa of the Quran
    Aren’t they 2 different personalities?
    1. Jesus of the Bible
Was born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph was the guardian
Mary’s mother was Ann and father was Joachim
    Isa
Was born DON’T KNOW as the Quran and Allah failed to state where he was born
Miriam’s father was Imran and had a brother Harun and possibly Musa as his and her’s brother since Imran is the father of Miriam, Harun and Musa
    2. Jesus was born in a manger
Isa spoke while he was in the cradle
    3. Jesus was crucified, died, rose from the death and went to heaven and had all his disciples as his witness in every miracle he performed
Isa was take to heaven bodily by deceiving the people who witness the crucifixion and till date Allah is not sure who he masqueraded Isa’s face. Whether it was Judas or Joseph or just any passerby, Allah is still wondering as the Quran failed another test to established the fact.
So, do not be confused by Muslim friends… Jesus of the Bible cannot be the Isa of the Quran.

I admire Salah as a good footballer, not as a Muslim. First of all, he doesn't represent Islam. Even if he is influenced by the West, it's his problem. Not all Muslims know what Islam is. We will all be accountable for what we are doing. So, there is no need to talk about him. He is just an ordinary man.

Football players, like other professions like that, painters, sculptors, singers, gamers, athletes, movie actors, racers, and various other entertainment fields, they live in abundance of money from the results of "stealing" the wealth of millions of people, even from the poor. They also make people waste money-time-energy-attention for useless things that they do, distracting people from making the best use of their time. Diverting people's attention from what should be a priority. What looks beautiful, attractive, luxurious, cool is mostly actually just the trash of the world. In fact, they, and you their followers, are the destroyers of the Ummah/the building of islamic society☝

First time watching your video, YT brought it up to my timeline, it's interesting that you're spending twenty minutes of your time condemning Mo for something very simple and not gonna make him change his belief, in fact, as you might know as American, there are many born Christians who don't really believe in the core of Christianity or even go to churches but they still celebrate Xmas, it became a culture tradition more than anything else, It's very sad and toxic at the same time reading those visious attacks on Mo, some of them even took him out of "Deen" and I believe those are the one need education not Mo, the extreme is the majority in our society whether you're born Muslim or a reverted Muslim, with all respect to you I assume you're the later, nothing wrong with that but I urge you not to follow this extreme ideology embraced by the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafi, Da'esh or those who basically carry the ideology of "Al Khawarij" unknowingly to give them the benefit of the doubt, I lived in America for almost 10 years and met a lot of new Muslims who think same way, bro we are not Gods to judge this or that, calling Mo a hypocrite or a Kafer is abslotely barbaric, extreme and actually more sinful than what Mo did if it's true It's a sin from the first place which I believe isn't but for the sake of argument, calling a Muslim a Kafir is so dangerous and should spread hate& amounosity in the Muslim community, Mo is a great example of the modern Arab Muslim in the western world, fans in Liverpool sing to him saying they might go the Mosque and become a Muslim because of him, he's not harming anyone by bringing the Xmas tree in his house brother, I thought you'd make a video condemning the terrorist attack in New Orleans that killed ten and injured hundred, that is what matter brother, life of human being matters more than criticizing a devoted Muslim superstar for being kind to his society!!
    Peace.
P.S please read more about difference between "Kofr"& "Iman" in Aqeda "creed"! Thanks.

Muslims regard Jesus (peace be upon him) as one of the great prophets who brought divine guidance to humanity before Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). Therefore I have no issue with Muslim's taking part in Xmas.
Christmas is a reminder to us of the diversity that enriches our world. At its core, this festive season encourages us to practise gratitude, and to extend compassion and be charitable - and so we see that our faith’s values and ethics are not so different. Mohamed Salah and his wife are teaching their children to appreciate and learn from other cultures, to help to cultivate an inclusive world where all voices are respected and heard, and where we may unite around our shared values. You have to applaud them for putting up the Xmas tree as lesson to cherish diversity and reflect on the common threads that bind us, sharing positivity and kindness to all.
Mohamed Salah has been a great ambassador for Islam and Egypt and the Xmas tree is didactic to shared values of different cultures..
