I've been paving a long time and everybody knows everything but they always stand around and have to be told exactly what to do when to do it I'm glad to see it's not just my crew
Your absolutely correct, it's difficult to find people that can work, yet alone take some initiative. It seems common sense and pride are a thing of the past too. Some clown says " hire Mexicans " in this comment section, funny, my boss just did, 3, slow as molasses and every day seems like the first. They " say " they're experienced. Like a roller guy said to someone, you may have 20 years experience, try paying attention the next 20.
@@richardtruesdell8289 you don't spray tack on gravel base just a shot of water usually. If you did the tracks on the paver would pick it up and plug. I have seen tack sprayed on shoulders after finished and compacted for erosion control.
So paving this is somewhere around $50,000.00.That looks about as long as our driveway which is roughly estimate 3000 feet. We plan to put down 60 truck loads of iron ore = $12,500.00.Using slag would be around $27,000.00.I better go buy some mega million powerball tickets.
My driveway too infact uf u vuy bricks little by little it is a diy hib but if u pave it with over priced cement it asphalt u need a pro bricks is better i find as u can do it urself in small section at least that's what im doing and my driveway is just as long 75 acres property and another 15 acres both need driveway
Don't use coal slag ever. It doesn't compact. And make sure you don't get super sandy iron ore. If anything just save your money for a good base and just asphalt it. 3000ft 10ft wide would be in the ballpark of 60k tho.
I love it when people say why have you got so many guys on the job, they're not working... well not working right now, but you can't just click your fingers when you need them so there they are. I loved those... I think Peterbilt trucks, nice gear! 😎😎😎 Our guys are supplied flat sole workboots and overalls to stop burns and reduce print marks on the asphalt, guys might kick up a stink at first but... go hard guys and keep up the good work 🦺🦺🦺👍👍👍🥾🥾🥾
Well... if you ever make enough money to buy a big piece of land, and you need a nice drive way? You’ll know what to do !! It’s all knowledge. In here, you see the kind of work that’s involved in building a long asphalt drive way.. The amount of men power that it requires, the level of equipment, and gives you an idea on budget for such big project. Yeah man....Building your own paradise doesn’t come cheap, but it’s so worth it.
Greetings from Germany! I have some Qestions: 1. Is the Asphat you pave in waterproof? Or it have to be sealcoatet? In Germany we dont sealcoat the driveways or roads! In Germany we do the first layer 10cm 32 Betokies in the driveway who is not waterproof and at the top the 2 layer 4cm 5er asphaltdeckschicht with this ammout of bitumen it is waterproof! 2. Why is the guy punching the side of the driveway with the asphalt distributor(
Bruder Ich habe die die anworten In America we have a lot of petroleum and as a byproduct asphalt , so here it is relatively cheap. The fabric missing at the end is not a big deal. After a few years the driveways are seal coated. And the cracks filled..depth is not measured by ultra sonic it’s done by operator. Also to be waterproof which highways are has a fabric layer between the layers for reinforcement and is held in place by hot liquid asphalt.
You guys do good work! Were the beds of the triaxles heated for the asphalt? You guys had a crapload of paving equipment on hand to do that driveway which makes sense based on the length of that private drive. nice video. :-) How long was the actual driveway including the apron out by the road? Total tons of blacktop used? Thanks again, guys..
These pavers are much more efficient without the seats if you can’t tell by them sucking there knees when trying to turn the screw. You do have nice equipment. Know just get the guys in matching uniforms and not taking there shirts off and you’ll look a lot more professional.
The guy who rakes and the roller man are the most important on a job like this to get a good finish. Edit: Nothing like a smooth transition to the roadway, here in Ct, the morons make a 2'' lip even when not needed. It wreaks havoc on the front end of your vehicle and makes plowing a damn nightmare.
A N Wall I am a fan of leeboy but I bought a 8515B and same thing. Nothing but issues from day one. Finally made them buy it back after 18 months of fighting and bought a 8515D. Much better machine
No cushion at the header? Fill in first at the concrete a bit lower roll it! Set paver back over concrete put down wood and take off. I didn't see one hand tamp other then using the asphalt rake not sufficient. we hand roll edges to keep from blowing out edge. gives time to cool then power roll. so-so job.. sorry.
s c I think the job looks great, because 1: The customer was EXTREMELY satisfied with the work. 2:They never called back complaining (and it's been almost 2 years ago)
William Walton thanks for the input but my prophet was and is always where it needs to be you can tell by the company eq. And in business for over 38 years
If you take the seats off the paver and you get a real roller and somebody that knows how to run it you could have two paving crews here why are there so many people I don't understand very slow Pace
A few things we wouldnt do... AND there are things WE Always do... we use string lines for our straights along with paint lines.... the operator uses the guide arm as he follows the lines. I can see by the long straight you guys didnt do either one of them... looks like a drunk was running the box.... But Thats what I see and I'm not paying for this job.
I've been paving a long time and everybody knows everything but they always stand around and have to be told exactly what to do when to do it I'm glad to see it's not just my crew
was the base shot with prime oil before paving? looked like no oil on base

Paving 3000 square feet is not 50000 maybe 30,000

idk how well that mix holds up but it sure is pretty

Krazy Shady yep that drive was apex 48 k

30K but he prolly over charged 10k because poeple honestly dont know pricing anymore
Are these guys State Workers? Cause I see 3 doing the work while the others cackle like hens while they hold up shovels and rakes.
That only took one day? I don't even have a driveway, lol.
Good job and good crew...
Love the sim city fx at the end... yaaay

Looks like a pretty dry mix.
Thanks

A N Wall I am a fan of leeboy but I bought a 8515B and same thing. Nothing but issues from day one. Finally made them buy it back after 18 months of fighting and bought a 8515D. Much better machine
Love this……you have all the best equipment and can’t afford new lutes haha
These guys are not pavers white shoes and shorts the rakers making a mess with the asphalt bringing all the rocks up
No cushion at the header? Fill in first at the concrete a bit lower roll it! Set paver back over concrete put down wood and take off. 5:53 theres ur hand tamp bub
U rite set 1/3 sticks set screed pull off
Proper rolling pattern will prevent cracking. Letting it cool will decrease chance of full compaction.
Too much people doing nothing. Great Lee boy
So what's a job like that worth - perhaps in 2019 dollars?
Alot depends on price of mix. Around where I am in Missouri we figure about 50 a ton for the asphalt.
Did I really just watch 17 minutes of this?
it only takes 3 mexicans
LOVE IT:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Way too much labor overhead on this job for it to be profitable
Hopefully some are in training...lol...
William Walton thanks for the input but my prophet was and is always where it needs to be you can tell by the company eq. And in business for over 38 years

I bet that job cost a lot of money
MOST OF THE WORKERS IN SNEAKERS ?
They ought to wear safety boots.
Scabs
If you take the seats off the paver and you get a real roller and somebody that knows how to run it you could have two paving crews here why are there so many people I don't understand very slow Pace
Todd Thomas
Todd Thomas yeah those wackers are junk I can pick the backend up by myself
😂😂200k leeboy and still have to throw shovels back over the pad and rake it
A few things we wouldnt do... AND there are things WE Always do... we use string lines for our straights along with paint lines.... the operator uses the guide arm as he follows the lines. I can see by the long straight you guys didnt do either one of them... looks like a drunk was running the box.... But Thats what I see and I'm not paying for this job.
