Absolutely! Even the new so-called expressways and highways coming up are not up to the mark. They are still at 70-80% quality of truly international standards. Most of the new metro stations look like old matchbox Gov't buildings. No creativity at all. Same with the quality of interiors in Vande Bharat. If you are going to spend thousands of crores on infrastructure, better do it properly. The only exception are the new airports. But yes, thing have definitely improved compared to 10-15 years ago. Still a long way to go.

India has wasted lot of time and energy doing little. A country where lalu and mulayam were CMs for long long time and mulayam as defense minister. All this taking place during prime of my life. During this time, large cities like Calcutta, kanpur, agra with several companies therein were brought to dust. Most changes like internet, email, computers, networks for connectivity, smart phones were the changes driven from outside india. Only change driven from within india was IT industry where labour cost advantage helped india and market demand was readily available from abroad. So credit of only 50% should go to india. Deep corruption, mandal commission, too much and corrupt democracy with lack of long term planning took it's toll to keep india in s box with keys under lock with entrenched families. After PM Naradimgha good change took place. Now of PM Modi is doing good job, but in my opinion China indeed played very smart game to reach where it is today. We may hate China, but it changed China to middle income country.

India can become an economic super power in the next 30 years, if it can develop R&D/innovation potential across several sectors. While IT/Communications/AI are crosscutting across sectors and can become core enablers, we need broadbased development as a strong foundation in all other core sectors including Agri, infrastructure, Ports, Mining, Irrigation, Defence, Transport,etc., Most importantly there is a strong need for a powerful political and judicial system which can make this happen.
with current growth rate, it doubles every 10 years, we still have 20 years before we reach 10,000, assuming it keeps growing at this optimal rate.. from many economist analysis it will reach 10k USD in 2050

I do not agree that 80-90% is reaching in all cases. In many cases especially mubicipalities everything is opaque. For example no water body is being cleaned in multiple cities etc. Funds must be going but not being cleaned. Lot more needs to be done.
