He needs to get charged and convicted for murder and spend the rest of his life in prison. He had no reason to shoot at the car. People accidentally go to the wrong house all of the time. He can rot in prison just like the 84 year old that shot a black teenager when he went to the wrong house and rang the doorbell. After he shot the teen, the teen fell down and he shot him again! Both can go to prison.

I’ve carried a firearm for more than 20 years, 15 years ago or so I was brutally attacked by a druggy asking for money we fought and witnesses came to help when my firearm fell out near me and immediately secured my firearm again. After people ask me why I didn’t shoot the druggy my reply was I didn’t think it was worth taking a life over that, my life wasn’t in danger. It’s a really fine line of when to know to use a firearm and so many don’t understand that fine line. I’m ok with never using it on anyone.

I disagree. If there's a situation where you may be dealing with a real threat, calling somebody won't do you any good. When seconds count, the police are still minutes away. I do believe in conducting a proper threat assessment, and honoring rules of engagement and escalation of force protocols before discharging a firearm at a threat. This man did not seem to do that.

Australian here, I've travelled to other countries, deemed safe as per Aus Gov.travel advisor, and got lost a bit and pulledd into driveways in order to reverse out and go back the way I came. No one pulled a gun and started shooting.

Carrying a gun instantly escalates every situation to life or death.
I guess that explains why the murder rates in us are 4 times higher than for example in the uk. It's not that we are 4 times more peaceful or more mentally stable and less impulsive or so. It's because we don't have an easy to use weapon around on those moments that we feel like killing someone. And by the time we finally found a good weapon, the impulse is usually over.

God help us! My condolences to this young lady's family for the senseless loss of her life. I hope and pray she gets the justice she deserves.
There is never real justice or closure when your child is murdered. Of course the murderer is always "sorry" only because they got caught or are needing a mitigator to lessen prison time. There is occassionally remorse for actions from angry impulsive hate filled stupidity.
There never is justice for the victims. In this case, a 60 year old shoots a 20 year old and she dies. She might have lived another 70 years and had an extremely good life.
He is 60. He may have 15 years left. I hope he does in prison and is buried in a prison cemetery. It isn't real justice, but he will never draw another free breathe.

I'm a delivery driver and I walked up a driveway trying to see the address. I had my clipboard in my hand and a big white truck parked on the street and the lady who lived there called the police on me. I pulled further down the street to the right address and the police officer pulled up laughing and told me that she had called in on me. His opinion was that she has way too much time on her hands and to vivid of an imagination.
I will never understand how some American people can ride so hard for gun ownership when there are so many accidental shootings in this country.

These types of murder are on the rise and I track it to right wing gun culture egging one another on with paranoia inducing stories as well as broadening right to carry and "stand your ground" laws as well as a lot of coaching on how to manipulate the law so you can shoot somebody and get away with it.
George Zimmerman was a classic case of someone that knew how to work the system, same for Kyle Rittenhouse and a lot of smaller cases. Just say "I was in fear of my life" and as long as you didn't brazenly hunt the guy down you'll walk.

She and her friends drove on to his property and started revving their engines and acting stupid. He feared for his safety and starting shooting. I wrote that comment because that is what most of the comments would look like if the young lady was black. Remember you love your GUN'S!!!

If you'll do some studing on the police department down there you'll see why. They are pretty racist. I recall a case a few years back where a cop shot a black suspect, planted a gun and almost got away with it; he only got 6 years despite his story changing and a convenient tampering with evidence by his pals in the evidence room.
