One of the oldest myths that keep getting repeated. It isn't in the water it's on the surface of filter media and aquarium decorations rocks etc. Water can transfer it but it doesn't harbour it in any reasonable numbers.
Carl looked so happy once you put him into the water, like he was finally home ! Reminded me of when I had a dog, and she would be so happy to get back home after trips. I could not help but smile.

Your setup videos are my favourite. I love that you do your best to replicate the animal's natural habitat instead of the usual (awful) kitchen towel and plastic hide approach. It must be a lot more work for you and I totally respect that you care enough about your animals to go that extra mile
Well yeah but this is mostly in reference to successfully keeping them for the full length of their life. When he says 100% death rate he means that these guys are passing away within just a few months of being set up in captivity
Won't you have to remove the leaves very often since they dissolve into the water and pollute it? If the snake lives in running water in the wild, decaying foliage would be swept away keeping the water relatively clean. Perhaps it would be an idea to sample the water in the wild and analyze its chemical composition to tweak the water in the aquarium. I saw something similar on another channel called AntsCanada. He builds insane habitats for ants and fish, and he pays much attention on making the environments as close to nature as possible. Wanna make sure our red headed friend stays alive!
Ants Canada is really cool he did a Amazonian set up for Fire Nation his fire ant colony that sadly past away and and a new fire ant the Phoenix empire will take over the habitat when they are big enough

alipetuniashow ya and they also contain native parasites that the animal can handle aint the same when you pulling leaves from florida..... this tank wasnt even cycled so theres a very low chance of this animal surving even know they usualy die in captivity anyway amonias are gonna spike when he adds fish and unless hea dosing rip, hes really good with the care of many reptiles but you can tell he has minimal experience with aquarium keeping, i still wish him the best

He mentioned very briefly in a different video a month or two ago that the second one had passed too. In the second video he said he was going to consider purchasing older/bigger ones in the future; since the babies are too skittish and are extremely difficult to keep alive.
I love coral snakes. Growing up in Florida, I only seen them once while hunting. Truthfully I wasn't aware that there were other species of coral snakes so this makes me super excited and hopeful that this one grows up well!
Coral snakes have many different species with different colorations. The rhyme is more of a general idea then a rule. The snake Chandler is handling appears to be a Brazilian Coral Snake which is venomous and doesn't follow the rhyme. Hope that helps.
Okay this snake is low key the cutest thing in the world, I'm tempted to say that he even cuter than Kevin the king which is a tough one to beat. When he yawned near the end of the video and he Kida just laid there, legit he reminded me of a little puppy

Tip: when starting a new aquarium, the water isn’t what contains the good bacteria. It’s actually the gravel, filter sponges, and rock/wood.

Chandler I really don’t recommend getting leaf litter outside just because of parasites or bugs that could effect the coral snake.
They live in a real jungle
So I am sure they can handle it

Reptile Exotics they are from the wild they will not have clean leaves
