You've introduced me to a whole new world. Kinda envious watching you "play with the big toys." Made me feel like your young fella driving the rig. You made my day. Txs for sharing.
I like how you exercised your right, as the owner of all that scrap, to do with it as you please. People romanticize refurbishing a lot of old stuff but in the end 99% of it ends up sitting there rotting before one's eyes.
Life doesnt get any better than getting to drive a real buggy at that age. You can tell that's a memory he'll be sharing with his grand children some day
Was looking at 11 acres that is completely covered in scrap... They want way too much for it though. It's been up for sale off and on for 5 years. They must not be very serious. Between vehicles, scrap metal, abandoned trailers, etc. I'd have to spend $30k on equipment to use to clean it up. Probably spend another $20k to actually get rid of everything. Then the all cleaned up and replanted with grass it might be worth what they are asking. It's insane. Probably take a year to clean it up.
I thought that looked like a Ontario plate. I just came across your channel and I'm definitely going to check it out and especially if you are in southern Ontario like myself 👍🇨🇦🔧 Oh yeah and getting that machine running that's what I like to call motion lotion. Probably something to do with 30 plus years as a heavy truck mechanic 👍🇨🇦🔧
Thats got to be a good feeling. Those woods will be better for wildlife, the metal goes on to reuse, and hopefully some cash for you. Loved the vision ofvthe crushing truck. Thanks for posting this.

Don't know why I put myself through so much torcher to watch this! Lol, hey great video. Just a little bummed to see a few of the things getting scrapped..
Agreed, it was hard for me too! And since then there's been a bunch of times I've said, "Hey! I should've kept such-and-such a thing", but it had to be done. What was scrapped was only a portion.
Its sure useful. Of the 3 attachments I have (grapple, bucket and forks), its the one that's used the most. You won't regret it! I'm running an electric diverter on the tilt circuit for my 3rd function. It works well.
I just bought a John Deere 3025E and am needing advice on how to remove small pieces of scrap metal, tires, wires, etc located in deep grass. The only attachments I have is a front bucket and a bush hog
Hearing protection? Press operator 10 years . I wore ear plugs under ear muffs and It deafened me through the floor vibrations while standing on rubber mats.
Yes I should wear it when running the Terex. That 671 is wicked loud! I'd be surprised if I run it more than a couple hours a year though at least. Thanks for the suggestion

My dad bought an old farm on back taxes back in the late 80's. The farm use to do onions & potatoes. All the equipment was still there & most left out in the fields. It was cool seeing all the old equipment. When all was said & done, we made money getting the farm.
That's kind of where we're at with this place. I also have a lot of non-recyclables which is more of a problem, but the $ from the steel helps offset the cost of disposing of it. Thanks for watching!
Literally thousands of dollars worth of equipment and you sold it for pennies on the dollar for scrap look at all the time and effort you put into it...

I did give that machine some thought before scrapping. Its a type of moulding maker. 600v 3 phase with a very specific purpose. What the video didn't show was the 60 year old jointer I rescued from the same space. 11' table. Its in my wood shop now awaiting some restoration, but it works.
Liked the Stargate analogy I'm rewatching them all and of course lots of these old equipment videos .I suppose the Aschin would have buried it instead of scrapping it lol.
@@davebrittain9216 I saved the power pack from the gradall. It was never going to be road worthy again. Backhoe had rotten lines, tires, and a cracked engine block. Tried selling but no takers.
