    Dolly has a heart for her "people". Part of her motivation in creating Dollywood was to create jobs for the locals. There are always critics who complain about how expensive things are. But just look at the literally thousands of local people who now have secure jobs because of Dolly's "expensive" playground. And look at how many more are going to be employed by Dolly's new resorts. Not to mention the local economy that has boomed, businesses that have nothing to do directly with Dollywood but benefit by its being there. Dolly understands: a secure job is better than a welfare check.

    This interview shows the character of Dolly... We all know her parents are so very proud of her!! If she is like them both, they had to have been wonderful people too!!! I can think of no other person who is so beloved by so many people!!!! If only the world had more celebrities like Dolly ...heart in the right place, not arrogant, remembers where they came from, and doing good for others!!! ❤❤❤❤

    The attraction of this lady goes way beyond just a good look, good voice, writing skills, or musical talent. Throughout the years in every single interview I've seen from her she always comes across as content, her original self, honest, truthful, warm, considerate, humble, kind, and all naturally so. That should be what's made her a legend.

    The great thing with Dolly. I didn’t like her musically or enjoy her movies at one time. But I loved her kindness also the way she treats everybody. It’s no different rather you be another famous person or even just a regular person or a big fan she just is a wonderful person to everyone, but then suddenly I watched movies like 9 to 5 or even listened to some of her albums and I thought you know this isn’t that bad. She is a huge talent with a big heart.
    It’s true you can’t help but fall in love with Dolly! ❤️❤️❤️

    1:57 re: “I Will Always Love You,” I think many black Whitney Houston fans were not especially happy to learn that their hero had such a massive hit with a cover of a former hit by a white country artist. They didn’t want to believe it, which is why they insisted the song was “Whitney’s.” Then when the truth became obvious to them, they switched to “well Whitney did it better.” No… she did it DIFFERENT. She interpreted the song differently, which is what cover versions are supposed to do.
    Racism works both ways.
    Dolly wrote it, had a monster hit with it at the time, and sings the hell out of it to this day. Whitney also sang the hell out of it - just in her own style. Both are amazing.

    People who come into the area for vacations think that the people they see working those jobs own those big expensive home they see around the area, they could not be more wrong. Most of the people who work in the area including Dollywood drive a good hour just to get to those jobs. The people in that area & surrounding counties are poor counties & have limited jobs so they have to drive, just to have a job. So when people come to this area of eastern TN don’t assume those people are wealthy & own expensive homes……they are just hard working people trying to have a job & put food on their tables. Say thank you for a job well done every once & awhile it might make someone’s day. Have a blessed day ☺️

    • @MTknitter22
      @MTknitter22 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Debra Conner, The phenomenon of tourist cities employees living aways off is not unique to TN. It is sad but these are jobs nonetheless and many many people have to drive distances for work. I talked to longtime employees who loved being there too. I saw many appreciative sweet visitors too. God bless Dollywood.
