Damn it! I didn't know Big Ben was supposed to come with grenades. I just checked mine, and his pouch is empty. It was listed as complete. I only bought complete figures for my ARAH collection. Oh well. 😧 Big Ben is one of the best of the 90's. Great headsculpt, and good loadout of gear. Nobody could complain that he suffered from the neon overload that the 90's Joes were notorious for. Though to be fair there are plenty of great figures in the 90-92 waves.
LOVE these overview videos of the entire catalog! Especially from 1990 & after, cause I`m not at all familiar with any of that. Thanks for all your work on these great videos.
I was Definitely Growing up by this time, I remember having several of the characters, and also remembering that this was the year that the Joe Line really started to come off the Rails with their Characters, Figures, Gimmicks and their Well into the the Decline Ever Cheaper looking vehicles. 1991 Has Some of the Coolest Figures, and Definitely some of the Worst, the Worst only being topped by the following years.
Love the 1991 figures!! I remember they were really hard to find when I was a kid and bought the majority as a adult. They were always just randomly mixed in with the 1990 figures which in turn were mixed with huge numbers of leftover 88s and re-runs of 89 (my local TRU also still had some 87s too). I only found about half of the single figures and I only saw the Air Commandos in the seasonal (ie summer) section of WallGreens, etc.
Nice review of your continued GI Joe 1991 collection figures and more. After many fans of GI Joe outgrew the line as they got into new grades in school, Hasbro had to draw in new fans with new ideas in the line. But sometimes basic is the best. Not easy to keep a figure toy line going for so many years but GI Joe was one of the most successful back then. These days in the 2020s+, there are mostly reissues or new versions of old figures.
I’m glad the early figures were in my time. In my opinion the longer they made them the worse they got. 82 swivel arm was perfect timing for me, I was 6 years old.

Lots of great figures from the 90s and Big Ben also should have a bi pod on the gun which mine is missing
Sandstorm is a coyote.
Thanks good info

Nice I have to be honest I am a bit jealous LOL
@tydiriumhanger1320 I'm jealous of all the joes you have man I don't have enough to man rolling thunder yet.

It seems like they were running out of ideas and just copying others

Yep I can see it being hard to get new stuff if the old stuff is still lingering on the shelves back then
Big Ben is cool looks almost like tunnel rat
Lots of similarities

Yep we got new characters and Hasbro took chances back then they not longer can or want to do these days
Another great year of Joe figures Mike plus most of them were featured in the Dic cartoon...😀☕✌️💡
Yep so many of these were in the show which is what made this a stellar year
The 1986 bats is the best design for bats
True it is hard to accept the 2.0 version

It was fun to collect Gi joe in the early years and 90s are cool but do feel different
Mercer v2`s "watergun" is based on an actual firearm, called the calico. The helical drum mag was mounted to the top of the gun.
That is cool to know thanks
You have all of Trackers visors on backwards, the part with the grooves faces forward
Lamprey v2 knife is supposed to be part of spearheads gun. It didnt come seperate. Also came with shockwaves uzi, except black.
Nice video bro, Sandstorm is a coyote bro, always loved the Joe's with pets!🫡👍🏾
That was a cool part of the line with Spirit and junkyard
The Neon Maniacs!!!! Neon G. I. Joes to go with Neon KISS and WHAM!!! I love the 90s!
Ha the 90s was such a bright decade!
Of the three Mercer has the best backstory of the Renegades. Also that cannon on his pack... Soundwave's shoulder cannon. LOL.
Yes it does feel like a Soundwave shoulder cannon.
Also if the weapons handle looks too big don’t use it in the hands for the figures other wise you will ruin the hands. Awesome collection
That is good advice for any year of Gi joe
I don’t have a few of those figures yet to complete my 1991 collection
I was really surprised how many figures they made in the 90 but 1993 will be a beast of a vid!
How did Grunt end up with Megatron's cannon?
He is not revealing that secret LOL
First time that I didn't have a single one from the year...
Yep I was out of the game by this time also
The launcher can go onto his arm also
What happened to LowLight's blond hair????
They did a lot of hair color swaps for some reason
Omg Dic ....
Yep but glad there was even a show during this era
Wad playing qith napkins by this year ...
Yep many kids moved on to other things
The figures are cool, but the fluorescent loud colors ruin it.This is GI Joe not chilling with Liberace
Yep they seem to have wanted to catch the eye of kids and parents on the toy isle
