@@CursoryMercenary When I got the box set I watched at least one episode per week to the end of series six. When Niles finally divorced Maris and Daphne got engaged to his divorce lawyer it seemed a perfect end to me. Yeah, controversial view, I know, but I quite like downbeat/tragically ironic endings.
I've watched odd episodes from later series that I remembered enjoying at the time but having such a concentrated dose of the good years made me realise just how much the series had dropped by the end.

A perfect example of why "Frasier" was such a brilliant, well-done show. It had every type of humor -- witty repartee, bawdy jokes, farce, belly laughs, silliness, snarky asides, physicality, sarcasm, etc. It never treated the viewers as if they were dumb. They assumed we were going to get that joke about an Ibsen play, a Wagner opera, or any other urbane thing they threw at us. In this instance, it poked fun at itself. Always will be in my personal list of top shows.

It could also just as easily have been that she was receptive to the type, and it could have been Niles, or someone else. But eventually, when you're familiar with someone for a while and you feel a certain way, it's only natural certain things get expressed and people move together. Shows are fun with the high spike of hope and the comedy of letdown, but it gets old when it cycles on the same subject over and over.

When we were dating, I invited my now-husband to watch Frasier with me. I was fresh out of a 5-year relationship, and he was bitter towards women while suffering from incredible loneliness. Frasier episodes became a launching pad for us to discuss our expectations for the relationship: what works, what doesn't, behaviors we don't like, etc. I mean, we were just talking about the show, but really we were talking about our own situation. We've been together about 10 years now, married for 6-7 years, and are expecting our third child (embryo adoption). 10/10 would recommend watching this show while dating lol

All I know is that Anne Boleyn was beheaded by King Henry VIII (husband) and Catherine of Aragon was divorced by King Henry VIII (husband). Catherine was married to Henry while he was in love with Anne. He also ignored and avoided Catherine as much as possible after Mary (Queen Mary I) was born. Henry divorced Catherine because 1) she gave him a daughter when he wanted a son. 2) he "loved" Anne and 3) he was bored with her. Catherine was also banished from the court.

I hated Frasier on "Cheers" because of his role in the series: the love interest between Sam and Diane, and Diane's emotional punching bag. It's quite unbelievable that the writers were able to not tweak his character too much and still feel like a brand new character. All guest appearances from "Cheers" on "Frasier" fit perfectly with the spin-off version of the character.
