Great solution mate - I ran into the same problem and have made up some billet aluminium adaptors to provide a robust solution to adapting the side shifter cable. Is like a new one now!
That's for posting a solid video on this shifter. I'm working on putting one of these in my 1998 Saturn SL for an autocross build. It's almost identical in layout to the Saturn shifter just rotated 180 degrees.
Just a thought on the throw, isn't there the ability to make the throw longer on the bottom? Where you had to grind the plastic so it would fit in the clip?

How different are the mounting holes compared to the stock crv? I have a crv and wanna do exactly what you did I just wanna make sure it might line up a little😂
If you said long throws to the odd number gears and short throws on even numbers and hits like that when shifting up then maybe your cable mounting is biased towards the rear 🤔
I've been trying to find a Billey shifter I can Install to use for my B series (LSV) setup. I just love the Billet shifter look. Its dope AF and it sucks they only got them for K swaps. If u can figure something out or know someone who has let me know
That's the draw of the channel though. For the most part, he gets by with his skills, and whatever he has laying around. I'm sure if he wanted to do quality everything, he can.
My guess is, you just bring it to the shop and don't know how they "Jerry rig" your stuff and pay through the nose. If you don't like his way of working, why even watch it...?

There should be some adjustments to keep it from hitting. Go on the web sight and see if they show how to make adjustments.

I had the exact same shifter but from halferland performance and never liked it. Ended up selling it and going back to oem shifter box
Put in the longer bolt with the bushing, for shorter throw, maybe it wil not hit
