In three years she grew from an English-illiterate girl into a forefront hi school graduate qualified for Princeton. Wow. She is a genius!
Suddenly I realized, Stanford is becoming the “Holy Grail” of the STEM in the entire world because of the Fei Fei Li-like professors. Also the sitting president of Stanford is a great leader. I will strongly recommend Stanford to my acquaintances and their kids.

She reminds me of the Chinese I worked with on the Ship. Humble and willing to get kicked around. This is the part a lot of people miss when looking at a Chinese person in academia. A lot of people who get on TV are obnoxious. They think they deserve not only Harvard but the bed you sleep in.

I also share a common heritage as Fei-Fei but from an earlier generation. I find her bootstrap life from an immigrant family to a distinguished scientist in her field very impressive. I differ, however, in that I see myself as American and not globalist. America has contributed to rebuilding the world's nations since WWII. Now the world's nations (Europe, Japan, China and Emerging Markets) and are on equal footing with America and sometimes with diverging interest following a different drummer. America is faced record budget deficits from excessive spending and can collapse from open border illegal immigration. This course is a road to socialism. I do not want to live in a socialist society with central planning (government bureaucrats) where your efforts are not differentiated (high taxes). I believe in reforming immigration to allow professionals (students that can be placed with a job) to stay in this country. I suggest Fei-Fei apply AI research to reduce healthcare cost (improve quality of life) and construct a more efficient government.

When asked whether/how her family was different from other Chinese families, she tried to avoid a direct answer. Based on this, I guess one of her family members may be a high-profile official in the CCP government.
Might the opposite. Had they been in CCP, they wouldn't have left the country.
I don’t see where Feifei Li tried to avoid a direct answer about her background.
I have known her parents very well by joining a Chinese Chorus for years and they were quiet people, very kind with low key, and they were very simple Chinese immigrant from China. Feifei’s parents have been very supportive for her career pursuit.
I would guess her success was because that Feifei was a teenager already when she came to USA, she had very good foundation built by her parents while they lived in China. She worked very hard on her own since she had seen her parents were not rich, and could not speak English well and just had jobs to make the family surviving.
I am same generation as her parents and had similar experiences as Chinese immigrants, and so I know beside her lucky, she had tried very hard in order to reach where she is today. Her parents have been supported her with all they could have.

MS.Lee should have been put into investigation regarding what her role and what have she done of helping US enemy China in AI. STANFORD should have stopped suspects to touch any research and helped US government for the investigation to prevent stealing of US technology and put the traitor into jail if proved
