I had forgotten about Railfreight General. Best Era for me along with Intercity, Scotrail, Regional Railways, NSE, Civil and Parcels/RES the railway was a colourful place. I also thought the triple grey looked good as Transrail in preparation for privatisation. Thanks for continuing these videos. There has certainly been something for everyone.
Thanks Andy, glad to hear we're getting the 'mix' right. We're making sure we cover the exciting history of the real life railways as well as give fellow modellers some inspiration to get started too. If there's anything you'd like to see us cover please don't hesitate to let us know.
Very informative video. Can't beat a 37 in Triple Grey!... Well, okay, the 31 is nice, too, I guess. Might be useful to note that most times no loco of a specific sector was available so they just grabbed what ever was available at the time and put that on what ever train needed hauling, so mixing the sectors, having Coal sector and Distribution sector locos double-heading a rake of petrol tankers is perfectly realistic. The sectors were eventually taken over by Transrail, Loadhaul and Mainline and operated in their respective regions leading up to privatization, still wearing the Triple Grey colour scheme with their new company logos added for a time and then later their own colour schemes before eventually being merged, along with RES, to form the mighty EWS and even then some locos still had the Triple Grey scheme with a big EWS logo hastily slapped on the sides, so Triple Grey can have a VERY wide range in years when it comes to selecting an era to model. Let's not forget that early Freightliner locos still wore Triple Grey with their company logo added, too! There's so much diversity and longevity when it comes to Triple Grey that with some water-slide transfers the modeling possibilities or seemingly endless.
Hi I don’t think many of the 08’s received the actual logos to their bodysides, they occasionally had a long strip vertically beside the cab door but again this was rare
Hi Ed, Garth has beaten me to the answer but thats correct - Railfreight Red Stripe was the predeccessor to the Railfreight Sector liveries covered in this video :-)

What about BR Rail frieght red strip livery? Where does that fit into the cargo sector?
That was the livery before sectorisation

What would the British railway system look like today if it went all scrapped in the 1980s
