    Congrats man!
    I won a competition in 2021 with no FMC knowledge (except insertions) cause I found a 27 with OLL Skip and A-perm (I did an insertion instead which saved 3 moves).
    Also for speedsolving, a way better solution for your third pair @7:16 is F R' U' R F', instead of F U' F'... or U F U F... (though in this case it wouldn't have skipped of course ;) )

    • @ScoochCubing
      @ScoochCubing  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wow 27 moves is insane! I don’t even know insertions so is was actually skilful.
      Also yeah I completely forgot about that. Very nice trick. I also missed that you can just do F U F’ and insert which is a move less than what I did. Or even do U R’ U R at that stage. Insane that there’s five good ways of solving the pair and the first one I try is the best one 🙄

    I competed in FMC at the start of the year, one of the solves was an x-cross into an 8 move last layer (37 moves) and another was a forced 4 free pairs, the last one cancelling into a 9 move ZBLL (36 moves). The fact that I got 2 ridiculous solutions in the same mean just shocked me (although I couldn’t complete the mean as I DNFed the 2nd solve)

    Congrats! Pretty much the same thing happened to me in FMC Americas 2017, which was the only time I had the chance to compete in FMC so far.
    I knew little about commutators and FMC techniques, and just focused on finding good solutions by modifying my CFOP solves.
    I got 45 45 32 for my three solves. The 3rd solve I also got really lucky and sat there in disbelief, I used the rest of the time to try to reduce the amount of moves, which went down to 32 at the end.
    I ended up placing 35th because of the average, but I got the NR (which I still have because we don't have many FMC opportunities, and I live in the middle of nowhere in Ohio, surrounded by corn).
