Just got my own Devil Forge furnace and decided to try your recipe. I used bare copper wire and pull tabs.
Absolutely amazing! Did a horrible job pouring in the mold but I did get one good hex button. I can clean up a couple more and will just remelt the rest, this was my second melt ever so I’m still getting used to it.

Go for it! But be safe. The devil forge is real value for money, keep out on what size you need. I thought I bought a medium sized devil forge, but I fooled myself. Got the little devil 🤣 well maybe next year a bigger one as I want to pour some nice chunky bars 😁👍👍

@@That1BVP with the devil forge FB1SB (the exact same I have) you should be able to make them. You see this furnace in action in this video from BigstackD too! You will need a crucible too, a 5 kilo copper rated clay graphite crucible is the largest size it can fit. But I suggest to use smaller crucibles as you need to lift them out safely. The size bar you are looking for is poures into a 85 Oz gold mold. Checl out my scrap to copper bullion video to see the size of the ingot.
Be sure to work safe!

I don't know if you read comments but as a suggestion you should burn the paint off of aluminium cans and melt them

Try adding 1% nickel for extra tarnish resistance. I use 88% Cu, 10% Al, and 2% Ni in my castings, which are primarily bladed items. They don't tarnish any that I can tell.
That blend truly is a sweet golden color. Any chance you could make me a diamond shaped paper weight? Not a diamond like on a playing card but an actual diamond like a gemstone 💎 with that gorgeous color of course. Then you can make a smaller version to hang off of Ingot's collar along with his custom name plate 🎖 that you haven't made yet. He wants some bling to. 😀

I usually see people making aluminium bronze with a 10/90 ratio.
This 5/95 ratio seems to have acquitted itself most satisfactorily! LOL

10% aluminum makes for a much stronger alloy, at least when properly heat treated. But that doesn't matter for decorative items. Less than 8% aluminum is documented to be more corrosion resistant.

Yeah I’m definitely gonna give the sea of thieves coin a try at casting I’ve got some brand-new sand coming with a new formula from a foundry company in Australia they made their own sand up with secret ingredients so I’d be very interested in seeing if it works as well as my American friends that all use petrobond. I have Australian version of petrobond here but it is definitely in no way like the awesome orange stuff overseas guys use👍🏻😁

Beautiful work brother. At least Ingot isn't digging up the yard again lol My pile of meltables is growing by the week. Not much copper and brass, but I have about 150 pounds of aluminum or more. I keep finding it on the side of the roads. I just need to start building my shop and equip so I can start melting it all down. Can't wait. 🍻

tyler krug he had inspired me as well. I was thinking about selling a bunch of my aluminum to buy what I need to build. I have a helium tank and a hot water heater to use. My son said I need to use the refrigerator compressor I have to make a small furnace. I just don't have the room to do anything right now. The scrap is outside right now.
You should cast a hollow bar out of that mix and see if you can add lead to make it weigh the same as gold. Just for fun of coarse.
