    Wish we had a stacked OL room. Till we fix our offensive line our defense will get worse out. We lost double digit leads in the 4th quarter last year due to our offense leading the league in 3 and out

      That's what I was really hoping "the Haul" would provide for us. Stacked O-line, stacked D-line and good young back-ups. Generational team built in the trenches. Oh well.....

    For the 4 picks -- I get Caleb, Odunze, Kneeland at Edge, and Tanor Bortolini at Center.
    Or Caleb, Bowers, Kneeland, and Bradford Coleman - OG.
    The latter picks have RAS > 9.0.

    You forget that Terell’s second half of the season was more like a first for him. He didn’t play much at the beginning so he needed to get time in as a rookie too. He’s a starter too not just a backup. Also the second half of the season the Bears got a much more effective pass rush with Sweat! Look at all my friend.

    • @Beardownsports
      @Beardownsports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He's definitely stuck behind two elite CB's. Smith came on strong, just doesn't have coverage grades as strong, but definitely potential to come around

    Great video, Adam. I’d like to know what you think regarding who the Bears should choose, if it came down to keeping 2/3 from Tyrique Stevenson, Kyler Gordon, and Jaquan Brisker. I don’t think any of the 3 would command the same money as Jaylon Johnson, but it’s something to think about.

    • @Beardownsports
      @Beardownsports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right off hand Kyler Gordon would go, but that could easily change in the next two years. Quan and Tyrique are just too elite right now. Kyler is +starter but not elite.

    Bears defense is better than it was last year. I think with only 4 picks, Poles may be calling a bunch of UDFA's to find a potential diamond.

  • @severallemmings
    @severallemmings 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Obviously we need to see Poles keep doing it, but if you could guarantee drafting 2-3 long-term starters, 2-3 quality depth pieces, plus a couple value UDFAs every year, I think most teams would take that in a heartbeat. Even beyond 1 and 9, if Poles can find any kind of contributor with our later picks, I think even the biggest skeptics are going to have to acknowledge his performance in the draft. People got real quiet about Velus Jones once Dexter and Stevenson started turning it on down the stretch.

    Fact that Jaylon had an all Pro year and Tyrique was a rookie, teams were targeting him a lot, so no surprise he struggled early. That makes his finish last year all the more impressive.

    Hypothetical question here. If we take best available at #9 and use future draft picks from next year to move into a late round 1 or pick up a 2nd rounder would that be better and still keep the control in Poles hands more? I just feel like a trade back with 9 could play out horribly especially since our needs match a lot of other teams in the 11-23 spots. Thought? Also yes our DB's are top! Bear Down!

    • @Beardownsports
      @Beardownsports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It just depends on how blue chip they see the players there at 9. A can't miss guy literally means they shouldn't pass.
      A small trade back could net that 2nd round pick. That's what's hard. A trade from 9 to 13 could give us both our WR and an edge 🤷‍♂️
      I don't think we use draft capital from next year, but when the board falls, if someone is there that shouldn't be, it could be worth it

    • @antmas3507
      @antmas3507 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm warming to this idea. I don't want to lose 1 and 9 picks and I early want to reenter the 1st or 2nd to grab another top prospect WR or C. Thats if we go edge 9

    • @jameshornor5723
      @jameshornor5723 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Beardownsports the other question is are the top 2 edges this year better than what is in next year's class. The WRs this year seem like next year won't be able to match it. How is next year's top talent project against this year. I haven't dug enough to make that decision.

    • @Beardownsports
      @Beardownsports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jameshornor5723 edge class is clearly more elite next year, but it's not like there aren't quality guys this year.
      WR class isn't nearly as stacked next year. Luther Burden should be a top 5 pick for sure but not many HR hits like this year.
      Problem is you have to make most decisions for the now unless we have extreme depth, which we don't
