The far right's treatment of women and their absolute refusal to admit that there are truly some people that shouldn't have guns is pushing me further left. If the abortion argument is none or all, I'm pushed further left than I want to be because none is unacceptable to me. If my tradeoff to being allowed to access birth control is that I can't make fun of people, that seems like a fair trade-off. I have to square myself with things on the left that I don't agree with, and so should repubs. If your trade-off for being allowed to mock someone's ethnicity is that your wife or daughter may die due to lack of healthcare, you have to own that. And to act as though the right isn't telling people how to live is childish, and maybe easy because you don't see women as equal people. It also seems childish that being asked to not go to a grocery store to protect someone's life was somehow tyrannical. I don't see the right "standing up for your rights" so much as pitching a fit because they were being inconvenienced.
