We watched this in middle school while we had a sub for a few days, and I remember going home and telling my dad, he expressed concern of me and my classmates watching this movie, particularly this scene and Sir Lancelot's scene. I understood while he was worried about Sir Lancelot's part but being a dumb middle school kid didn't get this one. That actually put my dad at ease a little
Lancelot saved Galahad from a very sore jaw I’ll say that much.
Fun fact, Carol Cleveland who plays Zoot finished that scene just by saying; “Ohhh…” and Terry Jones asked her to do something slightly different in the next take so she ad-libbed the abrupt; “Oh shit.”
At the premiere that line got a huge laugh, Jones turned around to Carol and nodded to her.

I never got this scene as a kid. Now that I know what "Sir Galahad the Chaste" means, it's only become funnier.
In the Arthurian Legends, it was Galahad who actually found the grail.

Assuming most people don’t actually know about Sir Galahad, he always remains a chaste Virgin. He is THE greatest knight amongst the knights of the round table and the only one capable of beating his dad, Lancelot (who isn’t gay), in a duel. He’s the first one to find the holy grail but waits for some specific knights that will also get to see the grail before Sir Galahad dies and goes to Heaven, taking both the grail and the spear that pierced Jesus with him, never to be seen again until Judgement day and the rebirth of the world.
Basically, Sir Galahad traded sex for eternal life, youth, celestial powers beyond human comprehension that only the spirit could withstand, etc

I often wonder if part of the joke in this scene was that it poked fun at voyeuristic film makers who purely put sexual scenes in their movies not because it moved the plot along, but because they just wanted to get off on it, because you could pretty much delete this scene and ultimately lose nothing from the film.

I've never seen this version of this scene before. Where she breaks the fourth wall and talks to the camera, that's never been in the versions I've seen of this film before. And I'm one of those people who knows this movie by heart and quotes entire scenes with my friends. That was awesome! Thanx!
